Research and development of electroencephalogram (EEG) based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) have advanced rapidly, partly due to deeper understanding of the brain and wide adoption of sophisticated machine learning approaches for decoding the EEG signals. However, recent studies have shown that machine learning algorithms are vulnerable to adversarial attacks. This article proposes to use narrow period pulse for poisoning attack of EEG-based BCIs, which is implementable in practice and has never been considered before. One can create dangerous backdoors in the machine learning model by injecting poisoning samples into the training set. Test samples with the backdoor key will then be classified into the target class specified by the attacker. What most distinguishes our approach from previous ones is that the backdoor key does not need to be synchronized with the EEG trials, making it very easy to implement. The effectiveness and robustness of the backdoor attack approach is demonstrated, highlighting a critical security concern for EEG-based BCIs and calling for urgent attention to address it. Slow Feature Analysis (SFA) extracts slowly varying features from a quickly varying input signal [1]. It has been successfully applied to modeling the visual receptive fields of the cortical neurons. Sufficient experimental results in neuroscience suggest that the temporal slowness principle is a general learning principle in visual perception. In this paper, we introduce the SFA framework to the problem of human action recognition by incorporating the discriminative information with SFA learning and considering the spatial relationship of body parts. In particular, we consider four kinds of SFA learning strategies, including the original unsupervised SFA (U-SFA), the supervised SFA (S-SFA), the discriminative SFA (D-SFA), and the spatial discriminative SFA (SD-SFA), to extract slow feature functions from a large amount of training cuboids which are obtained by random sampling in motion boundaries. Afterward, to represent action sequences, the squared first order temporal derivatives are accumulated over all transformed cuboids into one feature vector, which is termed the Accumulated Squared Derivative (ASD) feature. The ASD feature encodes the statistical distribution of slow features in an action sequence. Finally, a linear support vector machine (SVM) is trained to classify actions represented by ASD features. We conduct extensive experiments, including two sets of control experiments, two sets of large scale experiments on the KTH and Weizmann databases, and two sets of experiments on the CASIA and UT-interaction databases, to demonstrate the effectiveness of SFA for human action recognition. Experimental results suggest that the SFA-based approach 1) is able to extract useful motion patterns and improves the recognition performance, 2) requires less intermediate processing steps but achieves comparable or even better performance, and 3) has good potential to recognize complex multiperson activities. In practice, there often exist some occasions where video surveillance can only be realized by using rechargeable batteries due to the high cost of power supply. In order to extend the battery life, images can only be taken at a certain interval. Obviously, image difference is an important method to obtain various changes in this case. Among these changes, foreign invasion is one of the focuses. However, due to bolt shedding, abnormal weather and other factors, the camera may have abnormal movement which may seriously affect the detection effect of image difference method. Therefore, it is an urgent issue to find an effective way to detect the abnormal movement of camera and improve the detection accuracy of foreign invasion. Considering the characteristics of this kind of image sequences, we propose an effective algorithm to detect the camera abnormal movement and foreign object invasion based on a cumulative edge distribution probability model. Since sky region is relatively simple, we only discuss changes in sky region to detect camera abnormal movement. Our algorithm has 6 basic steps: firstly, segment the sky region;secondly, extract the edge information of the current image and the preceding adjacent image in the image sequence;thirdly, determine if the edge information of two adjacent images coincide. If consistent, then go to the next step, otherwise, it indicates that the camera has abnormal movement, then alarm;fourthly, calculate the cumulative edge probability distribution model in the sky region by using the historical image sequence;fifthly, by using adaptive Parzen window, determine if foreign object invasion exists by comparing the probability model of cumulative edge distribution with edge distribution of the current image;sixthly, update the cumulative edge distribution probability model in sky region. The Commensal Radio Astronomy Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) Survey (CRAFTS) utilizes the novel drift-scan commensal survey mode of FAST and can generate billions of pulsar candidate signals. The human experts are not likely to thoroughly examine these signals, and various machine sorting methods are used to aid the classification of the FAST candidates. In this study, we propose a new ensemble classification system for pulsar candidates. This system denotes the further development of the pulsar image-based classification system (PICS), which was used in the Arecibo Telescope pulsar survey, and has been retrained and customized for the FAST drift-scan survey. In this study, we designed a residual network model comprising 15 layers to replace the convolutional neural networks (CNNs) in PICS. The results of this study demonstrate that the new model can sort >96% of real pulsars to belong the top 1% of all candidates and classify > 1.6 million candidates per day using a dual-GPU and 24-core computer. This increased speed and efficiency can help to facilitate real-time or quasi-real-time processing of the pulsar-search data stream obtained from CRAFTS. In addition, we have published the labeled FAST data used in this study online, which can aid in the development of new deep learning techniques for performing pulsar searches. The development of high technology has driven the rapid growth of civil aviation passenger demand. However, most current studies ignore the impact of increased passenger traffic on ground vehicle demand. This paper studies the demand forecast of transportation vehicles in a specific environment. Taxis are under huge service pressure when faced with the characteristics of irregular time distribution and high dynamics. After the taxi driver escorts the passenger to the airport, it is a big problem whether to leave without a load or go to the car pool. This paper uses Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to construct a judgment matrix, establishes an airport taxi demand forecast model based on the best interests. Taking the status of taxi operation in Kunming Changshui International Airport as an example, the results show that the model can predict taxi demand more accurately and has practical guidance significance. Compared with traditional schemes, it is more conducive to improving driver's income.

This paper reviews the AIM 2020 challenge on extreme image inpainting. This report focuses on proposed solutions and results for two different tracks on extreme image inpainting: classical image inpainting and semantically guided image inpainting. The goal of track 1 is to inpaint large part of the image with no supervision. Similarly, the goal of track 2 is to inpaint the image by having access to the entire semantic segmentation map of the input. The challenge had 88 and 74 participants, respectively. 11 and 6 teams competed in the final phase of the challenge, respectively. This report gauges current solutions and set a benchmark for future extreme image inpainting methods. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

As one of Bayesian analysis tools, Hidden Markov Model (HMM) has been used to in extensive applications. Most HMMs are solved by Baum-Welch algorithm (BWHMM) to predict the model parameters, which is difficult to find global optimal solutions. This paper proposes an optimized Hidden Markov Model with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm and so is called PSOHMM. In order to overcome the statistical constraints in HMM, the paper develops re-normalization and re-mapping mechanisms to ensure the constraints in HMM. The experiments have shown that PSOHMM can search better solution than BWHMM, and has faster convergence speed. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper studies an adaptive regulation problem for the modified FitzHugh-Nagumo neuron model under external electrical stimulation. We first present the solution of the global robust output regulation problem for output feedback system with an uncertain exosystem which models the external electrical stimulation with unknown frequency and amplitude. Then, we show that the robust control problem for the modified FitzHugh-Nagumo neuron model can be formulated as the global robust output regulation problem and the solvability conditions for the output regulation problem for the modified FitzHugh-Nagumo neuron model are all satisfied. Then, we apply the obtained output regulation result to constructing an output feedback control law for the modified FitzHugh-Nagumo neuron model to achieve global stability of the closed-loop system in the presence of uncertain parameters and external stimulus. An example is given to show that the proposed algorithm can completely reject the external electrical stimulation.
