The optimization of slab location plays a critical role in the management of slab yard, which is related to the efficiency of the subsequent hot rolling process. However, the current slab location recommendation still relies on manual recommendation. In order to realize the automatic production of iron and steel enterprises, a mathematical model that is more in line with the actual production process for the recommendation of slab location is established. And then, an improved genetic algorithm which can solve problems with Markov characteristics is designed to solve this model. Finally, using the data of actual production, the results of the improved algorithm and those of manual recommendation are compared, which proves the feasibility and effectiveness of the model and the improved genetic algorithm. The results demonstrate that the model has high value in practical application and can be used to improve the production efficiency of iron and steel enterprises. Meanwhile, the improved genetic algorithm proposed in this paper provides a new approach to solving problems with Markov characteristics. © 2022 IEEE.

The hazardous and complex nature of underground mining imposes stringent safety requirements on autonomous driving. T-shaped roadways, common in such environments, present significant challenges for non-line-of-sight (NLOS) target localization. Traditional underground positioning technologies often fail in these settings due to severe signal attenuation and multipath effects, leading to potential accidents. This manuscript proposes a novel localization algorithm using single-input-multi-output (SIMO) Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) millimeter-wave radar to address these challenges. We analyze millimeter wave multipath propagation in T-shaped tunnels and construct an FMCW multipath echo model. Using CA-CAFAR and MVDR algorithms, we accurately estimate target distance and angle information. Additionally, a theoretical false point matching elimination method is designed to improve positioning accuracy by mitigating false target interference. Field tests in typical T-shaped NLOS scenarios demonstrate the method's high-precision positioning, enhancing the safety and efficiency of autonomous vehicles in coal mines. © 2024, The Authors. The lithium-ion battery is increasingly critical in the fields of electric vehicles and sustainable energy. Accurate prediction of the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of lithium-ion batteries is essential to mitigate risks and minimize potential losses. This paper introduces a novel fusion algorithm, FPSOGWO, which combines Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) with an enhanced Circle chaos strategy and a random adaptive weighting strategy. The FPSOGWO algorithm, integrated with Support Vector Regression (FPSOGWO-SVR), was utilized to predict the RUL of health factors in lithium batteries. Compared to other optimization algorithms, FPSOGWO exhibits superior optimization speed and value, effectively overcoming issues of local optimality. Specifically, when benchmarked against the Whale Optimization Algorithm-SVR (WOA-SVR), the R-Square values of FPSOGWO-SVR showed improvements of 15.62%, 1.28%, 5.67%, and 10.65% across four different types of batteries. Experimental results demonstrate that FPSOGWO-SVR provides more accurate RUL predictions for lithium batteries, highlighting its potential for broader application in battery health management systems. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2024.

This paper investigates a distributed time-varying optimization problem with inequality constraints, aiming to find finite- and fixed-time convergent solutions free from initialization. A nonsmooth optimization algorithm for state consensus achieving within a finite or fixed time is presented, by designing a projection-based log-barrier penalty cost function to meet the constraints and introducing integral sliding mode subsystems to guarantee zero- gradient-sum. With the use of the projection idea, the penalized functions are always well-defined (i.e., satisfying the logarithmic definition) for any system states, which avoids initializing of certain parameters. An adaptive gain scheme without any extra global information is presented. The time-varying zero- gradient-sum method here is feasible for cost functions with nonidentical Hessian matrixes, and applicable to finite or fixed time optimal consensus tracking. The effectiveness and superiority of our algorithms are verified with numerical simulations. © 2014 IEEE.

In recent years, the rapid advancement of electric vehicles has heightened concerns regarding the safety of high-energy batteries. Consequently, there has been a significant focus on the development of fault diagnosis technologies for batteries. Intelligent fault diagnosis (IFD), particularly data-driven approaches, represents a crucial methodology in addressing this concern. This paper proposes a data-driven approach, for IFD in high-energy batteries utilized in electric vehicles. The proposed Exponentially Weighted Average Variational Mode Decomposition (EWVMD) method overcomes these limitations by employing the exponential weighted moving average (EWMA) technique to smooth collected time-series voltage data. This process reduces noise, accentuates abnormal change trends, and yields secondary data with enhanced features. Subsequently, variational mode decomposition (VMD) is applied to the secondary data. The resulting decomposed sub-mode curves (intrinsic mode functions - IMFs) and the change trends of the residual curve, in conjunction with a fault threshold tailored to actual working conditions, are utilized to ascertain the occurrence of faults. Design verification experiments, the C42MSA electric vehicle power supply battery undergoes charging and discharging tests with injected faults at fixed intervals. The collected fault signals are then subjected to fault diagnosis using EWVMD. Results demonstrate the algorithm's superior detection effectiveness and increased sensitivity to fault signals compared to traditional methods. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we study a cooperative linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control system with a single user and a server. In this system, the user runs a process and employs the server to meet the needs of computation. However, the user regards its state trajectories as privacy. Therefore, we propose a privacy scheme, in which the user sends data to the server intermittently. By this scheme, the server's received information of the user is reduced, and consequently the user's privacy is preserved. In this paper, we consider a periodic transmission scheme. We analyze the performance of privacy preservation and LQG control of different transmission periods. Under the given threshold of the control performance loss, a trade-off optimization problem is proposed. Finally, we give the solution to the optimization problem.

This article investigates a fixed-time nonsingular terminal sliding mode control (FNTSMC) method with disturbance observer (DO). Using the vehicle's acceleration information, a fixed-time DO is designed to estimate the external uncertain disturbance of the system. Considering the nonzero initial error, a modified constant time headway strategy is proposed to overcome the influence of the nonzero initial error on the vehicle controller. In addition, a new terminal sliding mode control method is introduced to avoid the nonsingular problem and ensure that the vehicle spacing error converges in a fixed time. Finally, a numerical simulation is presented to show the proposed method's effectiveness.

This paper studies the problem of cooperative lateral-longitudinal control for a collection of vehicles. To eliminate the limitation of zero initial spacing errors, a novel spacing policy is introduced. Then, a fast vehicular cooperative control method is proposed based on the new spacing policy, which can ensure internal stability, string stability and traffic flow stability. The algorithm is derived via the use of sliding mode control with a predefined-time terminal sliding mode surface. The efficiency and feasibility of the algorithm are demonstrated by numerical simulations. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Robustness of gross primary production estimation from long-term reconstructed solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence varies with greenness on a global scale

Long-term reconstructed solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) derived from raw gridded SIF has been used for the estimation of gross primary production (GPP), but the robustness of the spatial relationship may vary from location to location. We examined the often-used linear relationship between GPP and SIF in terms of R2 values for varied locations globally using three GPP datasets (FLUXCOM, VPM, PML) and three long-term reconstructed monthly SIF datasets (CSIF, SIF005, and RTSIF). The results show that the R2 value is a concave function of vegetation greenness level (NDVI) on an annual or seasonal basis. The average R2 is over 0.8 in areas where the annual average NDVI is in the range of 0.4 to 0.6, whereas the R2 is much lower where the annual average NDVI is less than 0.2 or greater than 0.8. Prediction of GPP or SIF by three methods from five major environmental variables revealed greater uncertainties in GPP and/or SIF at low or high greenness levels as an apparent cause of the low R2. The results offer useful insights into how global GPP may be effectively estimated from multi-satellite measured SIF. © 2025 Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).
