In this work we present a sliding mode controller to control a boost DC-DC converter inserted in a photovoltaic system. The controller includes a combination between Fuzzy logic supervisor and sliding mode control to extract maximum power from PV systems. The proposed algorithms is compared with conventional algorithms such as the Perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm, incremental conductance (InC) and also unconventional algorithms such as FLC while varying irradiation. The simulation results confirm the performance and its robustness compared to other controllers.
