The propositional normal default logic and the finite/infinite injury priority method

In propositional normal default logic, given a default theory(?, D) and a well-defined ordering of D, there is a method to construct an extension of(?, D) without any injury. To construct a strong extension of(?, D) given a well-defined ordering of D, there may be finite injuries for a default δ∈ D. With approximation deduction ?s in propositional logic, we will show that to construct an extension of(?, D) under a given welldefined ordering of D, there may be infinite injuries for some default δ∈ D.

Acute ischemic stroke （AIS）, as the third leading cause of death worldwide, is characterized by its high incidence, mortality rate, high incurred disability rate, and frequent reoccurrence. The neuroprotective effects of Ginkgo biloba extract （GBE） against several cerebral diseases have been reported in previous studies, but the underlying mechanisms of action are still unclear. Using a novel in vitro rat cortical capillary endothelial cell- astrocyte-neuron network model, we investigated the neuroprotective effects of GBE and one of its important constituents, Ginkgolide B （GB）, against oxygenglucose deprivation/reoxygenation and glucose （OGD/R） injury. In this model, rat cortical capillary endothelial cells, astrocytes, and neurons were cocultured so that they could be synchronously observed in the same system. Pretreatment with GBE or GB increased the neuron cell viability, ameliorated cell injury, and inhibited the cell apoptotic rate through Bax and Bcl-2 expression regulation after OGD/R injury. Furthermore, GBE or GB pretreatment enhanced the transendothelial electrical resistance of capillary endothelial monolayers, reduced the endothelial permeability coefficients for sodium fluorescein （Na-F）, and increased the expression levels of tight junction proteins, namely, ZO-1 and occludin, in endothelial cells. Results demonstrated the preventive effects of GBE on neuronal cell death and enhancement of the function of brain capillary endothelial monolayers after OGD/R injury in vitro; thus, GBE could be used as an effective neuroprotective agent for AIS/reperfusion, with GB as one of its significant constituents.

Detecting and grasping objects in unstructured environments is an important yet difficult task. Fortunately, the breakthroughs from deep convolutional networks stimulate the development of object detection and grasping. The survey aims to serve as a comparison for region-based and region-free detection framework based on deep learning, and supplies the latest research results of object grasping with deep learning. Firstly, we briefly analyze the object detection and grasping. Then, the representative object detection methods based on deep learning are overviewed. Thirdly, we introduce the application of convolutional neural networks in object grasping. Finally, the potential trends in object detection and grasping based on deep learning are discussed. © 2018 IEEE.

Max-Min Fair Sensor Scheduling: Game-Theoretic Perspective and Algorithmic Solution

We consider the design of a fair sensor schedule for a number of sensors monitoring different linear time-invariant processes. The largest average remote estimation error among all processes is to be minimized. We first consider a general setup for the max-min fair allocation problem. By reformulating the problem as its equivalent form, we transform the fair resource allocation problem into a zero-sum game between a "judge" and a resource allocator. We propose an equilibrium seeking procedure and show that there exists a unique Nash equilibrium in pure strategy for this game. We then apply the result to the sensor scheduling problem and show that the max-min fair sensor scheduling policy can be achieved. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Despite substantial declines since 2000, lower respiratory infections (LRIs), diarrhoeal diseases, and malaria remain among the leading causes of nonfatal and fatal disease burden for children under 5 years of age (under 5), primarily in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The spatial burden of each of these diseases has been estimated subnationally across SSA, yet no prior analyses have examined the pattern of their combined burden. Here we synthesise subnational estimates of the burden of LRIs, diarrhoea, and malaria in children under-5 from 2000 to 2017 for 43 sub-Saharan countries. Some units faced a relatively equal burden from each of the three diseases, while others had one or two dominant sources of unit-level burden, with no consistent pattern geographically across the entire subcontinent. Using a subnational counterfactual analysis, we show that nearly 300 million DALYs could have been averted since 2000 by raising all units to their national average. Our findings are directly relevant for decision-makers in determining which and targeting where the most appropriate interventions are for increasing child survival. © 2022, The Author(s).

Fusion of deep shallow features and models for speaker recognition

In order to further improve the performance of speaker recognition, features fusion and models fusion are proposed. The features fusion method is to fuse deep and shallow features. The fused feature describes speaker characteristics more comprehensively than a single feature because of the complementarity between different levels of features. The models fusion method is to fuse i-vectors extracted from different speaker recognition systems. The fused model can combine advantages of different speaker recognition systems. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed methods. Compared with the state-of-the-art system on CASIA North and South dialect corpus,the proposed features fusion system and models fusion system achieved about 54.8% and 69.5% relative improvement on the equal error rate（EER）,respectively.

An overview of existing urban software mobile applications of the transport and economic direction is given. A model of a functional rationalizer of consumer behavior is being built. The software model of the functional rationalizer of consumer behavior (SM FRCB) was developed for the first time. PMFRCB allows the user to expand the number of his preferred needs (occupations, activities) during the daily cycle through intelligent recommendations. Also, SM FRCB allows you to optimize needs (activities, activities) at the cost and rate of their use. The SM FRCB is made in Python_3 using the libraries matplotlib, collections, numpy, pyplot, mplot3d. The analysis of consumer behavior before and after using the functional rationalizer model is carried out. The graphical results of a structural analysis of the costs of old and new consumer behavior, analysis of consumer behavior within the boundaries of the theory of possibilities and the model of transport behavior of a resident before and after applying the functional rationalizer model are presented. The prospects of further improving the SM FRCB are considered.

The high resolution earth observation satellite has developed rapidly, and the earth observation system has been developed from single-star mode to many small and medium satellites joint network. Full earth observation in twenty-four hours under all kinds of climate all around the earth has been realized. However, due to the limited bandwidth and energy resources, these data are not appropriate to be completely downloaded, and on-orbit image processing and data mining techniques are required. On one hand, redundant or invalid data can be removed to save limited bandwidth and energy, on the other hand, the on-orbit images are effectively processed in real time, and the intelligence and emergency response capabilities of earth observation system are enhanced. First, a high-performance computing architecture is established, and a high-performance computing platform based on Xilinx Zynq7000 series SoC chip and Nvidia Jetson TX2 series chip is designed to accomplish the on-orbit high-performance image processing with single point computing capacity of 2TFLOPS, storage capacity of 16Tb. Secondly, the image semantic segmentation on the TX2 hardware platform is realized by using the compressed lightweight deep neural network, and the classification of remote sensing image is achieved with accuracy 87% and 1 image per second prediction speed;On the basis of semantic segmentation, the semantic information of forest coverage and the number of houses is extracted. Finally, the image data retrieval technology is used to effectively organize and manage the images, complete the reception and response after receiving the ground commands, and transmit the effective data information to the ground in time. The verification system is further built to verify the rationality, availability and real-time aspects of the image data modeling and data mining platform, which lays the foundation for the future establishment and improvement of earth observation system. Quantum computing has seen tremendous progress in past years. Due to implementation complexity and cost, the future path of quantum computation is strongly believed to delegate computational tasks to powerful quantum servers on the cloud. Universal blind quantum computing (UBQC) provides the protocol for the secure delegation of arbitrary quantum computations, and it has received significant attention. However, a great challenge in UBQC is how to transmit a quantum state over a long distance securely and reliably. Here, we solve this challenge by proposing a resource-efficient remote blind qubit preparation (RBQP) protocol, with weak coherent pulses for the client to produce, using a compact and low-cost laser. We experimentally verify a key step of RBQP—quantum nondemolition measurement—in the field test over 100 km of fiber. Our experiment uses a quantum teleportation setup in the telecom wavelength and generates 1000 secure qubits with an average fidelity of (86.9±1.5)%, which exceeds the quantum no-cloning fidelity of equatorial qubit states. The results prove the feasibility of UBQC over long distances, and thus serves as a key milestone towards secure cloud quantum computing.

The main benefit of 3D display over 2D display is the obvious ability to create a more lifelike character with high depth sense. However, the limitation of human eye’s visual mechanism, unartful 3D scene structure design, or bad viewing condition always emerges poor depth perception experience or even physiological discomfort during the watching time, which is often sub-optimal for mass high-quality 3D display productions. To solve this problem, we propose a novel 3D display parallel system for depth sense optimization and it empirically guides how the light field should be re-rendered. Structurally, the parallel system consists of an artificial perception measurement system, a display evaluation model and a light field display rendering system, which includes the display calibration, scene capture, light field data processing and display. Particularly, the system can systematically analyze and model various factors affecting the depth sense which learned through the measurement system, like scene structure, objects’ speeds in 3D video and so on. And those sense factors can be personally modified or increased according to the viewer’s demands or technical improvement. Moreover, the light field could be real-time re-rendered, based on some image processing technology, optical flow analysis and object segmentation (or tracking) (especially the one-shot video segmentation).
