This paper deals with robust estimation of states and unknown inputs for a class of non linear system described by Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models. The proposed approach is developed on the basis of adaptive Luenberger observer theory. A robustness study, using the L 2 technique, is carried out to take in consideration the model uncertainties. Unknown inputs estimation is ensured through a fuzzy proportional integral adaptive law, computed from an accurate observer outputs which allow a fast dynamic estimation. Design conditions are formulated into Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) terms. Numerical example is given to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed techniques.

This paper deals with the synthesis of fuzzy controller applied to the induction motor with a guaranteed model reference tracking performance. First, the Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy model is used to approximate the nonlinear system in the synchronous d-q frame rotating with field-oriented control strategy. Then, a fuzzy state feedback controller is designed to reduce the tracking error by minimizing the disturbance level. The proposed controller is based on a T-S reference model in which the desired trajectory has been specified. The inaccessible rotor flux is estimated by a T-S fuzzy observer. The developed approach for the controller design is based on the synthesis of an augmented fuzzy model which regroups the model of induction machine, fuzzy observer, and reference model. The gains of the observer and controller are obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. Finally, simulation and experimental results are given to show the performance of the observer-based tracking controller.

In this paper, we study a transmit null-steering beamforming problem for wireless sensor networks in uncertain communication environment. Given a desired receiver direction,the system requires to avoid the unknown eavesdroppers as *** this case, we adjust both the sensors distribution and phase offsets such that beamforming is achieved at the desired direction,and meanwhile the communication of all the other directions is suppressed, which substantially reduces the risk of information theft by eavesdroppers. The Particle Swarm Optimization（PSO）algorithm is used to solve this constraint problem.

One of the techniques which can be used to quantitatively evaluate images statistically is the so-called random-walk approach. The resulting Hurst exponent is a measure of the complexity of the picture. Especially long, fine elements in the image, such as fibres, influence the Hurst exponent significantly. Thus, determination of the Hurst exponent has been suggested as new method to measure the hairiness of yarns or knitted fabrics, since existing hairiness measurement instruments are based on different measurement principles which are not comparable. While the principal usability of this method for hairiness detection has been shown in former projects, the absolute value of the calculated Hurst exponents depends on the technique to take the photographic image of a sample, to transfer it into a monochrome picture, and on possible image processing steps. This article gives an overview of edge detection filters, possible definitions of the threshold value between black and white for the transformation into a monochrome image, etc. It shows how these parameters should be chosen in case of typical textile samples and correlates the challenges of this novel method with well-known problems of common techniques to measure yarn and fabric hairiness.

In multi-media and social media communities, web topic detection poses two main difficulties that conventional approaches can barely handle: 1) there are large inter-topic variations among web topics;2) supervised information is rare to identify the real topics. In this paper, we address these problems from the similarity diffusion perspective among objects on web, and present a clustering-like pattern across similarity cascades (SCs). SCs are a series of subgraphs generated by truncating a weighted graph with a set of thresholds, and then maximal cliques are used to describe the topic candidates. Poisson deconvolution is adopted to efficiently identify the real topics from these topic candidates. Experiments demonstrate that our approach outperforms the state-of-the-arts on two datasets. In addition, we report accuracy v.s. false positives per topic (FPPT) curves for performance evaluation. To our knowledge, this is the first complete evaluation of web topic detection at the topic-wise level, and it establishes a new benchmark for this problem.

Along with the increasing prosperity of market economy and the growth of online retail, express shipping service (e.g. FedEx, UPS) is playing an increasingly important role in our daily lives. A thorough understanding of the network structure and the package traffic dynamics of largescale express shipping service network (ExpressNet) is essential for performance evaluation, network optimization, and user experience enhancement. Moreover, it would also be interesting and helpful to investigate how express shipping service reflects people's daily lives. In this paper, we propose systematic work to characterize and model the traffic dynamics in a nationwide ExpressNet. We collect 16 million delivery traces over 4 months in China, and examine its characteristics from a wide range of perspective, including network structure, temporal and spatial traffic dynamics, which provide important insights into express companies to better understand the network performance. On top of that, we develop an Extended Markov Model (EMM) to capture the dynamics of package delivery process and further predict the package delay, which is a major performance metric that both customers and express companies are concerned about. Data-based evaluation shows our model can achieve 91% prediction accuracy.

The paper proposes a look-ahead cruise control method considering both energy efficiency and the safety of vehicle motion. Based on the curve radius of the road, a method is proposed for the calculation of the safe cornering velocity, which is used in the look-ahead control design process. If the speed limit is in conflict with the calculated safe cornering velocity, the latter is applied in the energy optimization process of the look-ahead control algorithm. Thus, the designed velocity is coherent with the terrain characteristics, the speed limits and the geometry of the road as well, enabling the vehicle to travel safely and energy efficiently along the path. The main novelty of the paper is the consideration of the safe cornering velocity in the look-ahead design, improving energy efficiency and the safety of the vehicle during various maneuvers.

In this paper, we propose a Remote control of a domestic equipment from an Android application based on Raspberry pi card. Home automation has been recalled in the first stage. In the second stage an application has been developed based on the android system. The different diagrams have been presented. Different codes have been developed to allow the communication between the remote user, the web server, the raspberry pi card and the home components. Also an interface card has been developed to assure the communication between the home components and raspberry pi card. The application has been installed on a Smartphone, a web server and a raspberry pi card to order the shutter of windows. The experimental results are successful.

Maximum work extraction and implementation costs for nonequilibrium Maxwell's demons

We determine the maximum amount of work extractable in finite time by a demon performing continuous measurements on a quadratic Hamiltonian system subjected to thermal fluctuations, in terms of the information extracted from the system. The maximum work demon is found to apply a high-gain continuous feedback involving a Kalman-Bucy estimate of the system state and operates in nonequilibrium. A simple and concrete electrical implementation of the feedback protocol is proposed, which allows for analytic expressions of the flows of energy, entropy, and information inside the demon. This let us show that any implementation of the demon must necessarily include an external power source, which we prove both from classical thermodynamics arguments and from a version of Landauer's memory erasure argument extended to nonequilibrium linear systems.

High performance hardware architecture for sparse signal reconstruction based on systolic array

Compressed sensing realizes the sub-sampling of the sparse signal but with high computational effort. For this, many hardware implementations based on Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) algorithm have been researched, avoiding the direct matrix inversion calculation by Cholesky or QR decomposition. However, the computational complexity is still high, and the reconstruction precision is poor, which is unfavorable for extension. In order to address this problem, a high performance hardware implementation was proposed in this paper which used Coordinate Rotation Digital computer (CORDIC) method constituting a systolic array to perform QR decomposition. This hardware architecture improves systolic array module and corresponding scheduling processing module by adding delay units, and can recover an 8-sparse signal of column dimension 256 in the order of columns, with the speed nearly 13 times faster than the software. Meanwhile, since the mean square error has a boltzmann relationship with the sparsity of the signals, the hardware performs well when the sparsity is below 8. Moreover, the curve fittings for software and hardware match well further proves the reconstruction ability of this hardware architecture. Finally, based on this hardware structure, a single photon imaging system was constructed, showing that, it can significantly speed up the imaging speed.
