The propositional normal default logic and the finite/infinite injury priority method

In propositional normal default logic, given a default theory(?, D) and a well-defined ordering of D, there is a method to construct an extension of(?, D) without any injury. To construct a strong extension of(?, D) given a well-defined ordering of D, there may be finite injuries for a default δ∈ D. With approximation deduction ?s in propositional logic, we will show that to construct an extension of(?, D) under a given welldefined ordering of D, there may be infinite injuries for some default δ∈ D.

Sensor Faults Observer Design with H_∞ Performance for Non-linear T-S systems

This paper deals with the problem of the state estimation and the sensor faults detection for nonlinear perturbed systems described by Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy models with unmeasurable premise variables. Indeed, a T-S observer is synthesized, in descriptor form, to estimate both the system states and the sensor faults simultaneously. The idea of the proposed approach is to introduce the sensor fault as an auxiliary variable in the state vector. Besides, the T-S model with unmeasurable premise variables is reduced to a perturbed model with measurable variables. Convergence conditions are established with Lyapunov theory and the H∞ performance in order to guarantee the best robustness to disturbances. These conditions are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. The parameters of the observer are computed using the solution of the LMI conditions. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the design procedures. Simulation results show the satisfactory performances.

In this paper, global asymptotic stability of linear, time-variant, finite dimensional, zero input difference equations is investigated. We propose a technique that may be utilized to obtain regions of asymptotic stability in the coefficient space that incorporate information regarding the maximum rate of change of system parameters. Use of different matrix norms provide different ''shapes'' for the maximum allowable coefficient perturbations.

With the rapid development of semiconductor in- dustry, the number of cores integrated on chip increases quickly, which brings tough challenges such as bandwidth, scalability and power into on-chip interconnection. Under such background, Network-on-Chip （NoC） is proposed and gradually replacing the traditional on-chip interconnections such as sharing bus and crossbar. For the convenience of physical layout, mesh is the most used topology in NoC design. Routing algorithm, which decides the paths of pack- ets, has significant impact on the latency and throughput of network. Thus routing algorithm plays a vital role in a wellperformed network. This study mainly ：focuses on the routing algorithms of mesh NoC. By whether taking network information into consideration in routing decision, routing algorithms of NoC can be roughly classified into oblivious routing and adaptive routing. Oblivious routing costs less without adaptiveness while adaptive routing is on the contrary. To combine the advantages of oblivious and adaptive routing algorithm, half-adaptive algorithms were proposed. In this paper, the concepts, taxonomy and features of routing algorithms of NoC are introduced. Then the importance of routing algorithms in mesh NoC is highlighted, and representative routing algorithms with respective features are reviewed and summarized. Finally, we try to shed light upon the future work of NoC routing algorithms.

Accelerating Data Transfer in Dataflow Architectures Through a Look-Ahead Acknowledgment Mechanism

The dataflow architecture,which is characterized by a lack of a redundant unified control logic,has been shown to have an advantage over the control-flow architecture as it improves the computational performance and power efficiency,especially of applications used in high-performance computing(HPC).Importantly,the high computational efficiency of systems using the dataflow architecture is achieved by allowing program kernels to be activated in a simultaneous ***,a proper acknowledgment mechanism is required to distinguish the data that logically belongs to different *** solutions include the tagged-token matching mechanism in which the data is sent before acknowledgments are received but retried after rejection,or a handshake mechanism in which the data is only sent after acknowledgments are ***,these mechanisms are characterized by both inefficient data transfer and increased area *** performance of the dataflow architecture depends on the efficiency of data *** order to optimize the efficiency of data transfer in existing dataflow architectures with a minimal increase in area and power cost,we propose a Look-Ahead Acknowledgment(LAA)*** accelerates the execution flow by speculatively acknowledging ahead without *** simulation analysis based on a handshake mechanism shows that our LAA increases the average utilization of computational units by 23.9%,with a reduction in the average execution time by 17.4%and an increase in the average power efficiency of dataflow processors by 22.4%.Crucially,our novel approach results in a relatively small increase in the area and power consumption of the on-chip logic of less than 0.9%.In conclusion,the evaluation results suggest that Look-Ahead Acknowledgment is an effective improvement for data transfer in existing dataflow architectures.

Nonstationary time series are ubiquitous in almost all natural and engineering *** the time-varying signatures from nonstationary time series is still a challenging problem for data *** Time-Frequency Distribution(TFD)provides a powerful tool to analyze these ***,they suffer from Cross-Term(CT)issues that impair the readability of ***,to achieve high-resolution and CT-free TFDs,an end-to-end architecture termed Quadratic TF-Net(QTFN)is proposed in this *** by classic TFD theory,the design of this deep learning architecture is heuristic,which firstly generates various basis functions through ***,more comprehensive TF features can be extracted by these basis ***,to balance the results of various basis functions adaptively,the Efficient Channel Attention(ECA)block is also embedded into ***,a new structure called Muti-scale Residual Encoder-Decoder(MRED)is also proposed to improve the learning ability of the model by highly integrating the multi-scale learning and encoder-decoder ***,although the model is only trained by synthetic signals,both synthetic and real-world signals are tested to validate the generalization capability and superiority of the proposed QTFN.

Angle Compensation and Asymmetry Effect of Light Diffracted by Millimeter Liquid Surface Slosh Wave

The angle compensation method is adopted to detect sloshing waves by laser diffraction, in the case that the wavelength of the sloshing waves is much greater than that of the incident light. The clear diffraction pattern is observed to be of asymmetry, involving orders, position and interval of the diffraction spots that are discovered during the light grazing incidence. It is found that the larger the angle of incidence is, the more obvious the asymmetry is. The higher the negative diffraction orders are, the smaller the intervals between spots are. On the contrary~ in the positive region, the higher the diffraction orders are, the larger the spot intervals are. The positive interval is larger than that of the same negative diffraction order. If the incident angle reaches 1.558 rad in the experiment, all positive diffraction orders completely vanish. Based on the mechanism of phase modulation and with the Fourier transform method, the relations between the incident angle and position, interval spaces, and orders of diffraction spots are derived theoretically. The theoretical calculations are compared with the experimental data, and the comparison shows that the theoretical calculations are in good agreement with the experimental measurement.

Study region: Grand Bahama island, the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Study focus: In Grand Bahama, due to its low elevation, sea level rise and flooding during hurricane events can lead to the salinization of groundwater, which is the only source of potable water for the island. In this study, we assessed available literature of Grand Bahama's groundwater resources to identify key challenges and knowledge gaps for the protection of the potable water supply of the island. A literature review guided our assessment of various sustainable groundwater management approaches for the island. Understanding the hydrogeology and identifying strategies to maintain the freshwater lenses in Grand Bahama are key to ensure the island remains habitable. New hydrological insights for the region: Existing hydrogeological data highlight the urgent need to improve the island's water supply system and to identify safe groundwater yields to sustain its drinking water supply. Based on analysis of these data, we propose the implementation of nature-based solutions, such as managed aquifer recharge and reforestation measures, aimed at restoring the groundwater ecosystem service of freshwater supply. Moreover, we suggest wellfields should be identified in elevated areas on the island to mitigate over-wash induced saltwater intrusion in the aquifer. Furthermore, to ensure effective water supply management in Grand Bahama, it is recommended that legislation and regulations be adapted to actively involve both institutions and the public in the decision-making process. © 2025 The Authors

An Efficient Network-on-Chip Router for Dataflow Architecture

Dataflow architecture has shown its advantages in many high-performance computing cases. In dataflow computing, a large amount of data are frequently transferred among processing elements through the network-on-chip （NoC）. Thus the router design has a significant impact on the performance of dataflow architecture. Common routers are designed for control-flow multi-core architecture and we find they are not suitable for dataflow architecture. In this work, we analyze and extract the features of data transfers in NoCs of dataflow architecture： multiple destinations, high injection rate, and performance sensitive to delay. Based on the three features, we propose a novel and efficient NoC router for dataflow architecture. The proposed router supports multi-destination; thus it can transfer data with multiple destinations in a single transfer. Moreover, the router adopts output buffer to maximize throughput and adopts non-flit packets to minimize transfer delay. Experimental results show that the proposed router can improve the performance of dataflow architecture by 3.6x over a state-of-the-art router.
