Over the past few years image categorization using deep learning became very popular, because it can handle large databases and has shown good recognition results. This paper presents the complex valued convolutional network (CV-CNN) for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) soil moisture estimation. The CV-CNN consist in general of a real or complex valued input layer, output layer and one or more hidden layers. Hidden layers represent any combination of convolutional layers, pooling layers, activation functions, and are fully defined within complex valued domain. This paper proposes a deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for soil moisture parameter estimation. A 9 layer convolutional neural network was used, consisting of convolutional, pooling, dropout, fully connected and regression layers. We used 1000 ground measurements for each SAR acquisition using L-band fully polarimetric SAR data. The experimental results were verified using 100 ground points.

This paper presents a possibility of supervision against leaks in artificially made river canals, which can be done by estimating soil moisture content with TerraSAR-X synthetic radar aperture images. For soil moisture estimation problem an empirical model was used, which estimates dielectric constant and later on this can be transformed into soil water moisture content. ©2009 IEEE.

We implemented two simple propagation models, the free space log-normal model and 2-ray ground reflection model. The results show, that first model is not very precise in closed space (rooms). The second model gives quite well agreement with experimental RSSI measurements for greater distances between transmitting and receiving nodes. ©2009 IEEE.

In some wireless sensor networks (WSN) applications (e.g. fire fighting - scattering wireless nodes from the plane) nodes positions needs to be resolved. In WSN we are trying to keep the price of a node as low as possible and for that reason we are trying to avoid implementing additional hardware (e.g. GPS module) to the node. One of possible localization methods using standard WSN 802.15.4 radio chip is use of Received signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) parameter and radio propagation model. In the article we are describing the implementation and experiments of localization using RSSI and Log-distance path model. Measurements and visualization of the distances was successfully realized online and in "real time". ©2009 IEEE.

In this paper we present two algorithms for information extraction from Single Look Complex (SLC) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. The first algorithm is based on Tikhonov regularization with Total Variation (TV) and a Point-Based Feature (PBF) term. Based on the equivalence of Tikhonov and the Bayesian estimate, the second algorithm is a Maximum A Posteriori (MAP) estimation with a complex-valued Gauss-Markov Random Field (GMRF) in addition to the TV prior. The first algorithm produces a despeckled image preserving fine details and texture. The second algorithm gives a denoised image and in addition the estimated feature parameter vector θ. © 2008 IEEE.

This article represents those basic conditions which must exist for such systems to be classified as "expert systems". Our goal is oriented towards construction elements for an expert system;where we need to give a detailed description of each constructed part. If we want to construct an expert system, we must learn certain basic steps, which are very important during the design phase. These steps are tightly connected with predicate computation, fuzzy sets, rules, and so on, which will be explained in the paper. At the end of this paper we present our expert system solution, for the automatic analysis of OPNET network simulation results, which is developed in C# language.

Margento is a mobile payment system, enabling customers to purchase products from vending machines or in retail stores, using their mobile phones. It is designed to complement existing credit and debit card systems, by enabling all mobile phone users to turn their phones into the payment instruments of their choice. This system is based on Ultra's patented mobile payment terminal using the one and only mature feature found with any of today's phones - voice. It is very important to ensure secure and stable operation of such a system, under various loading conditions. For these reasons, we designed the Margento emulator equipment as the tool, which enables functional testing, performance testing, load testing and stress testing, of the Margento system.
