order to help investors understand the credit status of target corporations and reduce investment risks,the corporate credit rating model has become an important evaluation tool in the financial *** models are based on statistical learning,machine learning and deep learning especially graph neural networks(GNNs).However,we found that only few models take the hierarchy,heterogeneity or unlabeled data into account in the actual corporate credit rating ***,we propose a novel framework named hierarchical heterogeneous graph neural networks(HHGNN),which can fully model the hierarchy of corporate features and the heterogeneity of relationships between *** addition,we design an adversarial learning block to make full use of the rich unlabeled samples in the financial *** experiments conducted on the public-listed corporate rating dataset prove that HHGNN achieves SOTA compared to the baseline methods.

PHUI-GA: GPU-based efficiency evolutionary algorithm for mining high utility itemsets

Evolutionary algorithms(EAs)have been used in high utility itemset mining(HUIM)to address the problem of discover-ing high utility itemsets(HUIs)in the exponential search *** have good running and mining performance,but they still require huge computational resource and may miss many *** to the good combination of EA and graphics processing unit(GPU),we propose a parallel genetic algorithm(GA)based on the platform of GPU for mining HUIM(PHUI-GA).The evolution steps with improvements are performed in central processing unit(CPU)and the CPU intensive steps are sent to GPU to eva-luate with multi-threaded *** show that the mining performance of PHUI-GA outperforms the existing *** mining 90%HUIs,the PHUI-GA is up to 188 times better than the existing EAs and up to 36 times better than the CPU parallel approach.

Relation-Aware Learning for Multi-Task Multi-Agent Cooperative Games

Collaboration among multiple tasks is advantageous for enhancing learning efficiency in multi-agent reinforcement learning. To guide agents in cooperating with different teammates in multiple tasks, contemporary approaches encourage agents to exploit common cooperative patterns or identify the learning priorities of multiple tasks. Despite the progress made by these methods, they all assume that all cooperative tasks to be learned are related and desire similar agent policies. This is rarely the case in multi-agent cooperation, where minor changes in team composition can lead to significant variations in cooperation, resulting in distinct cooperative strategies compete for limited learning resources. In this paper, to tackle the challenge posed by multi-task learning in potentially competing cooperative tasks, we propose a novel framework called Relation-Aware Learning (RAL). RAL incorporates a relation awareness module in both task representation and task optimization, aiding in reasoning about task relationships and mitigating negative transfers among dissimilar tasks. To assess the performance of RAL, we conduct a comparative analysis with baseline methods in a multi-task StarCraft environment. The results demonstrate the superiority of RAL in multi-task cooperative scenarios, particularly in scenarios involving multiple conflicting tasks. Iris biometrics is a phenotypic biometric trait that has proven to be agnostic to human natural physiological *** on iris biometrics has progressed tremendously,partly due to publicly available iris *** databases have been available to researchers that address pressing iris biometric challenges such as constraint,mobile,multispectral,synthetics,long-distance,contact lenses,liveness detection,***,these databases mostly contain subjects of Caucasian and Asian docents with very few *** many investigative studies on racial bias in face biometrics,very few studies on iris biometrics have been published,mainly due to the lack of racially diverse large-scale databases containing sufficient iris samples of Africans in the public ***,most of these databases contain a relatively small number of subjects and labelled *** paper proposes a large-scale African database named Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Automation(CASIA)-Iris-Africa that can be used as a complementary database for the iris recognition community to mediate the effect of racial biases on *** database contains 28717 images of 1023 African subjects(2046 iris classes)with age,gender,and ethnicity attributes that can be useful in demographically sensitive studies of *** of specific application protocols are incorporated with the database to ensure the database’s variability and *** results of some open-source state-of-the-art(SOTA)algorithms on the database are presented,which will serve as baseline *** relatively poor performances of the baseline algorithms on the proposed database despite better performance on other databases prove that racial biases exist in these iris recognition algorithms.

Continual Test-Time Adaptation (CTTA) aims to adapt a pretrained model to ever-changing environments during the test time under continuous domain shifts. Most existing CTTA approaches are based on the Mean Teacher (MT) structure, which contains a student and a teacher model, where the student is updated using the pseudo-labels from the teacher model, and the teacher is then updated by exponential moving average strategy. However, these methods update the MT model indiscriminately on all parameters of the model. That is, some critical parameters involving sharing knowledge across different domains may be erased, intensifying error accumulation and catastrophic forgetting. In this paper, we introduce Parameter-Selective Mean Teacher (PSMT) method, which is capable of effectively updating the critical parameters within the MT network under domain shifts. First, we introduce a selective distillation mechanism in the student model, which utilizes past knowledge to regularize novel knowledge, thereby mitigating the impact of error accumulation. Second, to avoid catastrophic forgetting, in the teacher model, we create a mask through Fisher information to selectively update parameters via exponential moving average, with preservation measures applied to crucial parameters. Extensive experimental results verify that PSMT outperforms state-of-the-art methods across multiple benchmark datasets. Comprehensive Relation Modelling for Image Paragraph Generation

Image paragraph generation aims to generate a long description composed of multiple sentences,which is different from traditional image captioning containing only one *** of previous methods are dedicated to extracting rich features from image regions,and ignore modelling the visual *** this paper,we propose a novel method to generate a paragraph by modelling visual relationships ***,we parse an image into a scene graph,where each node represents a specific object and each edge denotes the relationship between two ***,we enrich the object features by implicitly encoding visual relationships through a graph convolutional network(GCN).We further explore high-order relations between different relation features using another graph convolutional *** addition,we obtain the linguistic features by projecting the predicted object labels and their relationships into a semantic embedding *** these features,we present an attention-based topic generation network to select relevant features and produce a set of topic vectors,which are then utilized to generate multiple *** evaluate the proposed method on the Stanford image-paragraph dataset which is currently the only available dataset for image paragraph generation,and our method achieves competitive performance in comparison with other state-of-the-art(SOTA)methods.

ChromTR:chromosome detection in raw metaphase cell images via deformable transformers

Chromosome karyotyping is a critical way to diagnose various hematological malignancies and genetic diseases,of which chromosome detection in raw metaphase cell images is the most critical and challenging *** this work,focusing on the joint optimization of chromosome localization and classification,we propose ChromTR to accurately detect and classify 24 classes of chromosomes in raw metaphase cell *** incorporates semantic feature learning and class distribution learning into a unified DETR-based detection ***,we first propose a Semantic Feature Learning Network(SFLN)for semantic feature extraction and chromosome foreground region segmentation with object-wise ***,we construct a Semantic-Aware Transformer(SAT)with two parallel encoders and a Semantic-Aware decoder to integrate global visual and semantic *** provide a prediction with a precise chromosome number and category distribution,a Category Distribution Reasoning Module(CDRM)is built for foreground-background objects and chromosome class distribution *** evaluate ChromTR on 1404 newly collected R-band metaphase images and the public G-band dataset *** proposed ChromTR outperforms all previous chromosome detection methods with an average precision of 92.56%in R-band chromosome detection,surpassing the baseline method by 3.02%.In a clinical test,ChromTR is also confident in tackling normal and numerically abnormal *** extended to the chromosome enumeration task,ChromTR also demonstrates state-of-the-art performances on R-band and G-band two metaphase image *** these superior performances to other methods,our proposed method has been applied to assist clinical karyotype diagnosis.

Unveiling Nonsecular Collisional Dissipation of Molecular Alignment

We conducted a joint theoretical and experimental study to investigate the collisional dissipation of molecular alignment. By comparing experimental measurements to the quantum simulations, the nonsecular effect in the collision dissipation of molecular alignment was unveiled from the gas-density-dependent decay rates of the molecular alignment revival signals. Different from the conventional perspective that the nonsecular collisional effect rapidly fades within the initial few picoseconds following laser excitation, our simulations of the time-dependent decoherence process demonstrated that this effect can last for tens of picoseconds in the low-pressure regime. This extended timescale allows for the distinct identification of the nonsecular effect from molecular alignment signals. Our findings present the pioneering evidence that nonsecular molecular collisional dissipation can endure over an extended temporal span, challenging established concepts and strengthening our understanding of molecular dynamics within dissipative environments.
