Network coevolution, the process of network topology evolution in feedback with dynamical processes over the network nodes, is a common feature of many engineered and natural networks. In such settings, the change in network topology occurs at a comparable time scale to nodal dynamics. Coevolutionary modeling offers the possibility to better understand how and why network structures emerge. For example, social networks can exhibit a variety of structures, ranging from almost uniform to scale-free degree distributions. While current models of network formation can reproduce these structures, coevolutionary modeling can offer a better understanding of the underlying dynamics. This paper presents an overview of recent work on coevolutionary models of network formation, with an emphasis on the following three settings: (i) dynamic flow of benefits and costs, (ii) transient link establishment costs, and (iii) latent preferential attachment.

Most of the time developers make extensive use of software tools in a software development process to support them in their day-to-day work. One of the first and most important phases of this process is the design phase, but within this phase intuitive and easy to use tools, which support the creative but also collaborative workflow (parallel/distributed), are missing. At the moment, developers use whiteboards to express their ideas in team meetings. Subsequently a coworker takes a picture of the sketches and remodels them with a modeling tool. That procedure is very inconvenient, error-prone and hindering in a creative modeling cycle. For overcoming this ineffective process this paper shows a new software tool using digital whiteboards to transform free hand sketches in formal models and back again during modeling in a distributed team. The transformation is completely independent from a pre-defined modeling language. The tool provides also a training mode to learn new graphical syntax elements and map these to formal metamodel entities. Video: https://***/watch?v=0i3M9djPrRM [Mirror: http://***/***?cID=3611].

In the last decades, development turned from monolithic software products towards more flexible software components that can be provided on world-wide markets in form of services. Customers request such services or compositions of several services. However, in many cases, discovering the best services to address a given request is a tough challenge and requires expressive, gradual matching results, considering different aspects of a service description, e.g., in-puts/ouputs, protocols, or quality properties. Furthermore, in situations in which no service exactly satisfies the request, approximate matching which can deal with a certain amount of fuzziness becomes necessary. There is a wealth of service matching approaches, but it is not clear whether there is a comprehensive, fuzzy matching approach which addresses all these challenges. Although there are a few service matching surveys, none of them is able to answer this question. In this paper, we perform a systematic literature survey of 35 (out of 504) service matching approaches which consider fuzzy matching. Based on this survey, we propose a classification, discuss how different matching approaches can be combined into a comprehensive matching method, and identify future research challenges. Recently software crowdsourcing has become an emerging area of softwareengineering. Few papers have pre- sented a systematic analysis on the practices of software crowdsourcing. This paper first presents an evaluation frame- work to evaluate software crowdsourcing projects with re- spect to software quality, costs, diversity of solutions, and competition nature in crowdsourcing. Specifically, competi- tions are evaluated by the min-max relationship from game theory among participants where one party tries to minimize an objective function while the other party tries to maximize the same objective function. The paper then defines a game theory model to analyze the primary factors in these min- max competition rules that affect the nature of participation as well as the software quality. Finally, using the proposed eval- uation framework, this paper illustrates two crowdsourcing processes, Harvard-TopCoder and AppStori. The framework demonstrates the sharp contrasts between both crowdsourc- ing processes as participants will have drastic behaviors in engaging these two projects.

This paper is concerned with the H_∞ consensus control problem in undirected networks of autonomous agents with nonlinear dynamics, subject to parameter uncertainties and external disturbances. With the consideration of time-varying delays arising from communication among agents, a distributed protocol is proposed using the local delayed state information. Then, by defining an appropriate controlled output function, the consensus problem under the proposed protocol is converted into an H_∞ control problem. Based on robust H_∞ theory, sufficient conditions are derived to make all agents achieve consensus with desired H_∞ performance. Moreover, the feedback matrix in the proposed protocol is determined by solving two linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) with the same dimensions as a single agent. Finally, a numerical simulation is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our theoretical results.

In this paper, an adaptive output feedback tracking control scheme is proposed for spacecraft formation flying (SFF) in the presence of external disturbances, uncertain system parameters, input constraints and partial loss of control effectiveness. The proposed controller incorporates a pseudo-velocity filter to account for the unmeasured relative velocity, and the neural network (NN) technique is implemented to approximate the desired nonlinear function and bounded external disturbances. In order to guarantee that the output of the NN used in the controller is bounded by the corresponding bound of the approximated nonlinear function, a switch function is employed to generate a switching between the adaptive NN control and the robust controller. Moreover, a fault tolerant part is included in the controller to compensate the partial loss of actuator effectiveness fault. It is shown that the derived controller not only guarantees the tracking error in the closed-loop system to be uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) but also ensures the control input can rigorously enforce actuator magnitude constraints. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
