computer-Aided Pronunciation Training (CAPT) systems are gaining popularity recently due to the advancements in deep neural networks (DNN) and machine learning and the availability of databases of speech of language learners. Unfortunately, research in Arabic CAPT systems suffer from the lack of CAPT datasets compared to other languages. In this paper, we present the details of and the ideas used in the development of a versatile dataset of speech, real and synthesized, of Arabic Learners. To develop the dataset, we utilized an existing Arabic speech corpus, King Saud University Speech Database (KSU-SD). KSU-SD's main application was a speaker recognition system, but it was designed to be useful in other applications such as CAPT systems. KSU-SD includes a large number of speakers from diverse nationalities (Saudis, Arabs, and Non-Arabs). KSU-SD contains the recording of about 60 non-native speakers from more than 20 nationalities, hence we selected it to build the non-native Arabic-CAPT corpus. The developed corpus consists of transcribed, segmented, and annotated speech, which makes it suitable for building Arabic CAPT systems. In addition to presenting the details of developing the dataset, we also present an analysis of the text and speech errors of the dataset. The dataset was verified by many CAPT systems. © 2023 IEEE.

The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning have revolutionized various sectors, enabling unprecedented levels of innovation and efficiency. This research presents a novel approach to stream-line the configuration of AUTOSAR (Automotive Open System Architecture) modules using Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tools. Traditional methods of generating AUTOSAR-compliant ARXML files are time-consuming and require meticulous man-ual input, posing significant challenges for developers. In this study, an AI-driven methodology is introduced to address these challenges. By mapping English descriptions to YAML through a Python script and subsequently converting YAML to Autosar XML (ARXML), this approach conserves tokens and significantly accelerates the AI training process. The AI model, trained on a dataset of 12,000 samples and tested on 3,000 unseen inputs, achieved a 100% accuracy rate in converting descriptions. Additionally, a comprehensive configurator tool and a code generator were developed to facilitate seamless integration and deployment of the generated configurations. The proposed solution not only reduces manual effort but also increases reliability in AUTOSAR configuration, offering a practical tool for developers in the automotive software industry.

This paper proposes a fuzzy cluster-scaled principal component analysis (fuzzy cluster-scaled PCA) for mixed data, which consists of both numerical and categorical data with respect to quantitative and qualitative variables. The fuzzy cluster-scaled PCA has been proposed for high-dimension, low-sample size (HDLSS) data in which the number of variables (or dimensions) is much larger than the number of objects (or samples). In this case, the target data is only for the numerical data. The proposed fuzzy cluster-scaled PCA in this paper can be applied to the mixed type of HDLSS data by utilizing the feature of the fuzzy cluster-scaled correlation, which is decomposed into two parts: the first part is the correlation of classification structures between variables and the second part is the correlation between variables. Then, the first part can be adapted to the categorical data, and the second part can be used for the numerical data through the same objects. Several numerical examples used data from a survey concerned with the relationship between students' choice of devices and scores of examination/class marks to measure the educational effect show a better performance of this proposed method, and insightful, important information on educational effectiveness is clarified. © 2023 The Authors. VisioSLR: A Vision Data-Driven Framework for Sign language Video Recognition and Performance Evaluation on Fine-Tuned YOLO Models

With the emergence of AI for good, there has been an increasing interest in building computer vision data-driven deep learning inclusive AI solutions. Sign language Recognition (SLR) has gained attention recently. It is an essential component of a sign-to-text translation system to support the deaf and hard-of-hearing population. This paper presents a computer VISIOn data-driven deep learning framework for Sign language video Recognition (VisoSLR). VisioSLR provides a precise measurement of translating signs for developing an end-to-end computational translation system. Considering the scarcity of sign language datasets, which hinders the development of an accurate recognition model, we evaluate the performance of our framework by fine-tuning the very well-known YOLO models, which are built from a signs-unrelated collection of images and videos, using a small-sized sign language dataset. Gathering a sign language dataset for signs training would involve an enormous amount of time to collect and annotate videos in different environmental setups and multiple signers, in addition to the training time of a model. Numerical evaluations of VisioSLR show that our framework recognizes signs with a mean average precision of 97.4%, 97.1%, and 95.5% and 11, 12, and 12 milliseconds of recognition time on YOLOv8m, YOLOv9m, and YOLOv11m, respectively.

In recent years, many crowdsourcing platforms have emerged, using the resources of recruited workers to perform diverse outsourcing tasks, where the video analytics attracts much attention due to its practical implications. For maximum profits, platforms carefully choose the workers and determine the video analytics configurations to ensure accuracy;meanwhile, workers possess the flexibility to tailor the configurations for their indivi-dual gains, which makes it hard for platforms to optimize their profits considering the platform-worker conflicts. In this paper, we design an incentive mechanism for Multi-leader game-based video Analytics upon CROwdsourcing, named MACRO, to over-come the above situation. Under that mechanism, we first formu-late the utility optimization problems for platforms and workers, respectively. We then propose a dual ascent-based method to op-timally determine the video analytics configurations for a multi-platform game, ensuring Pareto efficiency. Moreover, in the context of a multi-leader game involving platform-worker conflicts, we design an incentive function with its incentive factor update strategy and propose an ADMM-based approach for maximizing incentives that motivate workers to contribute to the platforms' profits. Rigorous proofs demonstrate the linear convergence of the MACRO to the multi-leader Stackelberg equilibrium. Trace-driven experiments show that MACRO improves the Pareto efficiency by 26.3%, outperforming other approaches. © 2024 IEEE.

Sorting and searching are critical processes for effecttive data analysis. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of various sorting and searching algorithms and compare their time and space complexities on both sorted and unsorted data. The algorithms we analyzed include six common sorting algorithms (insertion, radix, bucket, merge, bubble, and quick sort) and three search algorithms (linear, binary, and jump search). The results of our study provide insights into the best algorithms to use for different input sizes and types of data. It was found that for small input sizes, all algorithms perform similarly, but for larger input sizes, insertion and radix sorts are better for time complexity while bubble sort is better for space complexity. Additionally, jump search outperformed linear and binary search algorithms in both time and space complexity. Besides, difference between time and space complexity of sorted and unsorted data was significant. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a multi-input multi-output controller for optimal control of nonlinear energy storage, using deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm. This controller provides the frequency support in an isolated microgrid with high penetration of variable renewable energy sources and varying system inertia. To achieve an optimal control we redesigned neural network of actor and critic, simplified deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) rules, and reorganized the reward/punishment system. Simulation results show the efficiency of the proposed virtual inertia control architecture in several scenarios. © 2022 IEEE.

In an era of heightened digital interconnectedness, businesses increasingly rely on third-party vendors to enhance their operational capabilities. However, this growing dependency introduces significant security risks, making it crucial to develop a robust framework to mitigate potential vulnerabilities. This paper proposes a comprehensive secure framework for managing third-party vendor risk, integrating blockchain technology to ensure transparency, traceability, and immutability in vendor assessments and interactions. By leveraging blockchain, the framework enhances the integrity of vendor security audits, ensuring that vendor assessments remain up-to-date and tamperproof. This proposed framework leverages smart contracts to reduce human error while ensuring real-time monitoring of compliance and security controls. By evaluating critical security controls - such as data encryption, access control mechanisms, multi-factor authentication, and zero-trust architecture - this approach strengthens an organization's defense against emerging cyber threats. Additionally, continuous monitoring enabled by blockchain ensures the immutability and transparency of vendor compliance processes. In this paper, a case study on iHealth's transition to AWS Cloud demonstrates the practical implementation of the framework, showing a significant reduction in vulnerabilities and marked improvement in incident response times. Through the adoption of this blockchain-enabled approach, organizations can mitigate vendor risks, streamline compliance, and enhance their overall security posture. Our findings highlight the importance of employing blockchain to enforce security controls and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
