The issue of stroke happening in world range acting a significant problem for human health. Until 2019, there were about 411 death cases per day in America which is 3 years earlier than the appearance of e-cigarettes in 2022. However, the judgement between different doctors could be variable and a slightly human error in complex situations could lead to a bad estimation result. To deal with this, the prediction of stroke probability of patients could provide an objective reference for doctors. This study made a data treatment of factors choosing and translation then calculating 4 accuracy of models and finally an application. To be more specific, an online stroke dataset was employed for factor analysis firstly and three machine learning algorithms were utilized to select most important stroke-related factors. 6 most influential factors were further passed into four machine learning models for training. The work gave the result of the highest accuracy performance of Random Forest between the four models which could be assistance of the prediction in stroke. © 2022 SPIE.

This study proposes an integrated system combining Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and YOLO (You Only Look Once) for enforcing helmet laws and improving traffic safety. A user-friendly PyQT GUI facilitates vehicle registration, creating an organized CSV database for future reference. YOLOv5, an advanced object detection algorithm, identifies key elements like motorcycles, helmets, and number plates from input images. The primary objective is detecting motorcyclists without helmets, followed by OCR extraction of text from license plates. The extracted text is compared with registered bike information in the CSV file, generating e-challans and fines for matches. Automatic email notifications ensure timely communication and compliance with traffic regulations. The system's implementation not only aids helmet enforcement but also acts as a deterrent for future violations, fostering a safer driving environment. With scalability and practicality, this approach can integrate seamlessly into existing traffic control systems, leveraging AI technologies like YOLOv5 and OCR for effective problem-solving and enhanced road safety.

Digital twins have a major potential to form a significant part of urban management in emergency planning, as they allow more efficient designing of the escape routes, better orientation in exceptional situations, and faster rescue intervention. Nevertheless, creating the twins still remains a largely manual effort, due to a lack of 3D-representations, which are available only in limited amounts for some new buildings. Thus, in this paper we aim to synthesize 3D information from commonly available 2D architectural floor plans. We propose two novel pixel-wise segmentation methods based on the MDA-Unet and MACU-Net architectures with improved skip connections, an attention mechanism, and a training objective together with a reconstruction part of the pipeline, which vectorizes the segmented plans to create a 3D model. The proposed methods are compared with two other state-of-the-art techniques and several benchmark datasets. On the commonly used CubiCasa benchmark dataset, our methods have achieved the mean F1 score of 0.86 over five examined classes, outperforming the other pixel-wise approaches tested. Massive multiple-input multiple-output (m-MIMO) is recognized as large-scale MIMO (LS-MIMO) and is a crucial podium for fifth-generation communication networks (5G) to reinforce spectral efficiency (SE) and capacity of the system. Pilot contamination (PC) arises because the non-orthogonal pilot sequences transmitted by users in a cell similar to the nearby cells is one of the blockages in m-MIMO to avail the essential goals. In the current paper, we intended an intelligent pilot assignment policy to substantially extenuate the potency of PC in the multi-cells m-MIMO system. Based on the intended strategy, the entire users are divided based on their large-scale fading into two groups, i.e., High contaminate K H and low contaminate K L users. Likewise, K H is assigned by orthogonal pilots due to high inter-cell-interference (ICI) and to extenuate the extreme PC, whereas non-orthogonal sets of pilots are dedicated to K L. Afterward, severe PC among K H almost vanished, whereas a slight problem of PC still exists among K L, which deteriorates the system efficiency. Thus, a competent approach based on hyper-graph-coloring-based pilot allocation (HCPA) is projected to overwhelm the PC of K L. However, the simulation effects expose that the proposed strategy extremely stimulates both attainable sum-rate and signal-to-interference-plus-noise-ratios (SINRs). Furthermore, the proposed strategy is extremely efficient to suppress PC and optimize the entire system efficiency. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In November 2021, Dagstuhl seminar 21442 was bringing together researchers and practitioners from various domains such as of databases, automatic testing, and formal methods to build a common ground and to explore possibilities for systematically improving the state of the art in database management system engineering. The outcome of the seminar was a joint understanding of the specific intricacies of building stateful system software, as well as the identification of several areas of future work. In smaller components of industrial or energy automation systems, such as device controllers of Protection and Control (PAC) systems in smart grids, controller functionality is tightly coupled with the physical device or sensor capabilities. At this level, software is small and therefore easy to maintain and test. However, when multiple controllers are interconnected and higher-level functionality is added, software applications grow exponentially, and ensuring maintainability becomes proportionally challenging. In this paper, we extend the IEC 61499 reference architecture used to develop industrial automation software with the principles of Abstraction Layered Architecture (ALA) that has shown up to 400% improvements in industrial software maintainability. We show that even a light application of abstraction layering on the top, application-level of IEC 61499 applications makes them significantly more readable and slightly more maintainable. More concrete gains in maintainability are expected when abstraction layering is integrated into lower layers.

As a developing country, Sri Lanka needs to go along with cutting-edge technologies. In the beginning phase of this digital advertising, multiple advertisements were displayed on the users' feeds, including advertisements despite their preferences. This was a terrible user experience for the users. However, smart advertising based on customer preferences can manage the flow of advertisements on the feed as per the users' preferences. This same technique can be used in handling advertisements while shopping at supermarkets. These advertisements can be directed based on demographic characteristics like face and gender and previous customer transactions. Additionally, providing the nearest supermarket they can reach based on their current location. Queue management is the next most crucial facility that needs to be provided to a supermarket. However, the manual system of queue management is not effective. But with a modernized queue management system, overcrowded supermarkets can be managed effectively. This proposed system also considers providing a chatbot service to manage customer inquiries in a reliable strategy. In this system, we mainly used the Keras model called VGGFace for face detection, the Conventional Neural Network and Keras-based model for gender detection, the TensorFlow model called Single Shot MultiBox Detection MobileNet for queue and crowd detection, the Apriori algorithm base model for predicting the buying pattern, a Keras-based model for Artificial Intelligence chatbot and finally, google map Application Programming Interface for the nearest supermarket finding are models and technology. This system was developed to manage a supermarket properly. © 2022 IEEE.

Making the decision to purchase or invest in real estate can be a very crucial process due to its high financial risk. The purchasing decision of residential real estate properties can be even more decisive because, apart from the financial risk, the choice of a property can have a great impact on the future lifestyle of the buyer. When considering residential real estate, one major factor to be considered is the property location. This research sought to determine the applicability of modern technologies such as location intelligence and machine learning in the development of an e-commerce system that may assist users in making optimal residential real estate location decisions. Third-party web APIs were used to obtain location data, and as a result of the study, methodologies were defined to convert location data into meaningful insights by using statistical methods like weighted sum and the analytical hierarchy process. The functionalities in the proposed system have been designed, considering the roles of both buyers and sellers in the real estate business. In the proposed system, the location quality index framework provides overall insights on the location, the personalized insights and alternative locations are generated via the personal preference-based suitability analyzer and the price prediction system provides the current and future price fluctuations. The usefulness of image processing technologies and machine learning for making the sellers' journey easier on a real estate platform has also been assessed. © 2022 IEEE.

Recently Smart Home concept has been a popular choice as a solution for emerging security related problems. The primary objective of this research was to create a cyber-threat free fully functioning smart home monitoring and anti-theft alarming system with enhanced physical security mechanisms. The focus of this research was to create a holistic and secure smart home system, combining cutting-edge physical security measures. The study introduced novel Intruder Access Prevention methods rooted in human behavior and voice pattern recognition, while also incorporating blockchain and network traffic analysis to safeguard the homeowner's data. Furthermore, a pioneering voice-controlled monitoring mechanism, utilizing protective energy-saving plug technology, was devised to enhance safety within contemporary households. The human behavior recognition and voice recognition-based intruder access prevention system demonstrated over 80% accuracy in intruder prevention, while user data protection mechanism prevents the communication channel from cyber hackings. Further, the smart plug demonstrates reliable and accurate physical environment monitoring with minimum latency. These results underscore the system's significant contribution to home security, marking a noteworthy advancement in the Smart Home concept.

Rapid urbanization and increasing income levels combined with poor and insufficient road network to accommodate vehicles is causing a major traffic problem in Sri Lanka. Additionally, in urban areas, traffic congestion is leading to an increase in air and noise pollution as well. Numerous solutions were tried by authorities, yet no promising results were yielded to address these issues successfully. Contrastingly, increasing road network capacity to solve this problem is very costly and feasible only up to a certain point. Another option is to limit the number of vehicles in the city either by law or by alternative means such as ride-sharing. The best ride-sharing method available is the public transportation, however, due to the limitations of it, upper middle-class opt not to use those hence use their own vehicle to get the expected comfortability. This study is aimed at developing a ride-sharing application by profiling the users based on user reputations, vehicle type, socioeconomic variables such as education, social status, and security concerns of the users, and user ratings. Unlike existing carpooling applications that primarily depend on cost and destination to offer ride options, the proposed application further developed to consider the model of the vehicle for fare calculation. © 2021 IEEE.
