Networks play an important role in the day-to-day life of every individual. Networks are involved in the transmission of necessary information between the sender and receiver in the channel. Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is a major advancement in the field of network communication. Due to the arrival of the Micro Electromechanical System (MEMS) and several intelligent sensors, collaboration with WBAN makes accurate predictions of parameters in the human body. WBAN has numerous applications in medical and non-medical fields. WBANs have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in real-time health monitoring, facilitating the collection of vital physiological data from individuals in diverse environments. Firstly, their low-power and energy-efficient design ensures prolonged device operation, making them suitable for continuous monitoring over extended periods. Additionally, the miniaturization of sensors and the integration of wireless communication technologies enable seamless data transmission to centralized healthcare systems. Furthermore, the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms in WBAN systems has enabled personalized health analytics, allowing for more precise and context-aware health monitoring. This paper gives a survey of the WBAN standard, security in WBAN, several authentication approaches, routing, and MAC protocols. In addition, this paper describes the challenges faced by WBAN, such as network partitioning, changes in postures, lifetime issues, and quality of service (QoS). At last, the advancement in WBAN is for future improvement in the area of body area networks. © 2024

This paper proposes a framework integrating Rate Splitting Multiple Access (RSMA), semantic communications, and generative AI for optimizing next-generation wireless networks. We present a unified model that combines RSMA with semantic communications to enhance both spectral efficiency and semantic fidelity. Our system model focuses on a downlink semantic communication system with a multi-antenna base station serving multiple single-antenna users. A dynamic contract-based incentive mechanism is developed to address user heterogeneity and information asymmetry in semantic RSMA scenarios. We introduce a diffusion model-based approach for joint optimization of resource allocation and contract design in RSMA systems. The semantic encoding process extracts key information, i.e., free-space detection, interest points, object attributes, and spatial relationships, from image data. A loss function is designed to train the semantic encoder and RSMA scheme, incorporating semantic extraction, partitioning, reconstruction, and task specific components. Our framework includes a multi-objective performance evaluation that considers both conventional metrics and semantic accuracy in a multi-user RSMA environment. We also define a multi-component semantic accuracy metric to assess the quality and utility of the extracted semantic information. Extensive simulation results demonstrate the superiority of our proposed framework over existing approaches in terms of system throughput, energy efficiency, and semantic fidelity across various network scenarios and user distributions. © 2015 IEEE.

Choosing an appropriate optimization algorithm is essential to achieving success in optimization challenges. Here we present a new evolutionary algorithm structure that utilizes a reinforcement learning-based agent aimed at addressing these issues. The agent employs a double deep q-network to choose a specific evolutionary operator based on feedback it receives from the environment during optimization. The algorithm’s structure contains five single-objective evolutionary algorithm operators. This single-objective structure is transformed into a multi-objective one using the R2 indicator. This indicator serves two purposes within our structure: first, it renders the algorithm multi-objective, and second, provides a means to evaluate each algorithm’s performance in each generation to facilitate constructing the reinforcement learning-based reward function. The proposed R2-reinforcement learning multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (R2-RLMOEA) is compared with six other multiobjective algorithms that are based on R2 indicators. These six algorithms include the operators used in R2-RLMOEA as well as an R2 indicator-based algorithm that randomly selects operators during optimization. We benchmark performance using the CEC09 functions, with performance measured by inverted generational distance and spacing. Educational operating systems are crucial for facilitating learning in the digital age, as they exist at the intersection of technology and education. While their technical role is well understood, improving their educational value requires enhancing traditional approaches. This paper explores ways to enrich educational operating systems not just through technological advancement, but also by integrating pedagogical principles. In an ever-changing world, the need for an adaptive and responsive educational operating system to meet diverse student needs is crucial. Through case studies, we analyze how design, interactivity, and accessibility can transform these systems into effective and appealing learning environments. The adoption of agricultural robots, or agrobots, has revolutionized modern farming operations, ranging from crop monitoring to automated harvesting, significantly boosting productivity. Motivated by the rapid advancements in agrobots and their integration into smart agricultural practices, this study proposes an autonomous trajectory tracking system for wheat farms using quadcopter UAVs. To address actuator fault detection, including stuck faults and partial loss of efficiency, a TSF-H∞-SMO (Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy-based H∞ Sliding Mode Observer) fault detection framework is introduced. The approach initiates with the derivation of a TSF (Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy) attitude control model that integrates an uncertainty term, constructed from the original nonlinear dynamics of the UAV and approximated through local linear models at four equilibrium positions. An actuator fault model is subsequently integrated to develop a comprehensive TSF-UAV model, accounting for actuator faults. The TSF-H∞-SMO is then designed using matrix coordinate transformation to enable precise fault detection. The fault detection capabilities of the TSF-H∞-SMO are evaluated through simulations on the TSF-UAV model under SISO (single-input single-output) actuator fault scenarios. The experimental results validate the proposed system, demonstrating its ability to detect a range of actuator faults accurately and promptly. The analysis reveals a proportional relationship between the amplitude of the state change and the severity of the fault, attributed to the interaction between system states and actuator flaps. This approach underscores the potential for deploying autonomous UAV-based fault detection and trajectory tracking systems in agricultural applications. Furthermore, integrating such advanced fault-tolerant control algorithms holds promise for consumer technology applications, where precision, reliability, and robustness are critical to enhancing system performance and operational efficiency. © 1

ITU-R categorized Nigeria into four rain regions (i.e., M, N, P, and Q) depending on the atmospheric conditions. Previous works that have conducted rain and attenuation modeling and simulations have assumed similar signal propagation behavior and parameters within locations categorized under the same region. This paper aims to explore these assumptions by conducting an extensive radio propagation simulations of point-to-point microwave links with a clear line-of-sight in order to estimate the total path loss (attenuation), excess path loss, and flat fade margins for each of the locations within the M-regions, i.e., Kano, Sokoto, and Adamawa. Results obtained showed that in all the locations, the loss monotonically increases with distance, with Sokoto having the highest level of signal losses and fading, while, Adamawa has the lowest. The deviation for both total loss, excess loss, and flat fading margin was found to be between 15 dB across the region. © 2023 IEEE.

Signal propagation in a particular region differs from another due to differences in atmospheric, climatic and environmental properties, distinct terrain and clutter features. Adequate analysis is essential to understand the radio propagation behavior in a particular region. The ITU-R designated four rain regions, M, N, P, and Q, for Nigeria representing the rain rate distribution and also provided further classifications based on ground conductivity, among other salient parameters. Based on these classifications, this paper utilized the EDX Signal Pro software® to model and simulate a typical Point-to-Point (P2P), Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) link scenarios for 5G networks. The objective was to estimate and compare the total loss, excess loss, and flat fade margins for each rain region in Nigeria. Results obtained from the comparison showed that signals propagating in region N experience the highest level of losses and fading, while, region Q has the least losses and fading. © 2023 IEEE.

This research aims to develop a system for short-form formatting Korean-English literature through AI-based NLP technology. Using a deep learning model, we extracted the most semantically relevant core text from the full text of literature and constructed an emotional keyword classification model by training the existing pre-trained natural language processing model with a sentence-emotion pair Corpus DataSet. Next, we constructed a model that uses text-to-image technology to create images from the core texts and subjects. The world is witnessing sustained effects of information technologies across all works of life. Though some of these influences are markedly negative and detrimental to the socio-economic prospects and progress of the society, the positive effects are often impressive especially where they are integrated for the betterment and greater good of the larger society. One of the fastest growing technologies is nanotechnology. Nanotechnology has numerous prospects and applicability across various sectors ranging from electronics, telecommunications, agriculture and food production, biotechnology and genetics, oil prospecting and production, remote sensing, drug production, to name a few. This novel technology readily finds usefulness and several researches are ongoing, geared at developing new tools and techniques that would improve its acceptance across the concerned domains. It is this quest that has culminated into the ongoing effort in nanoinformatics, an interdisciplinary study and a subdomain of informatics simply regarded as the conscientious application of informatics tools and technologies to the analysis, design and development of systems on the broad spectrum of nanomaterials including their physicochemical and environmental characteristics as well as their interactions, interrelationships, and applications within a given domain. This paper presents a review of some opportunities for individuals, experts, and the society especially in the production of cost-effective nanotechnology-based healthcare products. Notwithstanding the aforesaid opportunities which could be harnessed and sustained in any developing country like Nigeria, this paper identifies and buttresses core challenges that could confront the adoption of good nanoinformatics methodologies.
