software Defined Networking (SDN) architecture satisfies the flexibility and scalability requirements of Internet of Things (IoT) network. A large amounts of IoT data is transmitted and exchanged through IoT network. However, many of services of IoT are sensitive to latency and bandwidth, so the network traffic model and measurement in IoT are different legacy networks. In this paper, we propose a robust network traffic modeling approach and use it to estimate network traffic in IoT. To obtain the measurement results with low overhead and high accuracy, we model the network traffic as liner function with noise. Then, we collect the statistics of coarse-grained traffic of flows and fine-grained traffic of links, and use the robust network traffic model to forecast the network traffic with the coarsegrained measurement of flows. In order to optimize the estimation results, we propose an optimization function to decrease the estimation errors. Since the optimization function is NP-hard problem, then we use a heuristic algorithm to obtain the optimal solution of the fine-grained measurement. Finally, we conduct some simulations to verify the proposed measurement scheme. Simulation results show that our approach is feasible and effective.

Mobile cloud computing (MCC) refers to an infrastructure in which data processing and storage can take place far from mobile devices. The convergence of compact registration and network distributed computing has created scalable distributed computing. This technology provides consumers a number of points of interest, similar to storage limits, reliability, scalability and access to real-time information. As a result, it is expanding steadily and is undoubtedly organised into a daily day-to-day life. The Cloud servers can be used for the preparation and storage of ***, in the current conditions, the secrecy of photos and information is generally important. In this paper, we concentrate mainly on the safe re-appropriation of photographs.

Two types of teaching coexist today: traditional face-to-face methods and teaching based on self-learning where the student has ubiquitous access to course contents. This paper shows how tests have been made of a type of learning that is becoming more common in educational environments. This hybrid teaching method combines the Massively Open Online Course (MOOC) and students' face-to-face work. On the one hand, the advantages of face-to-face learning are taken advantage of: teacher in the classroom, social bonds and daily work sessions. On the other hand, the advantages of distance learning are integrated: flexibility, accessible material and wide variety. Also included in the paper is a description of the equipment and the way in which it has been used with students. Finally, the paper details the educational experience carried out with students and the outcomes obtained. These pilot tests are framed within the education of STEM topics and robotics.

Prioritized process test: An alternative to current process testing strategies

Testing processes and workows in information and Internet of Things systems is a major part of the typical software testing effort. Consistent and efficient path-based test cases are desired to support these tests. Because certain parts of software system workows have a higher business priority than others, this fact has to be involved in the generation of test cases. In this paper, we propose a Prioritized Process Test (PPT), which is a model-based test case generation algorithm that represents an alternative to currently established algorithms that use directed graphs and test requirements to model the system under test. The PPT accepts a directed multigraph as a model to express priorities, and edge weights are used instead of test requirements. To determine the test-coverage level of test cases, a test-depth-level concept is *** compared the presented PPT with five alternatives (i.e., the Process Cycle Test, a naive reduction of test set created by the Process Cycle Test, Brute Force algorithm, Set-covering Based Solution and Matching-based Prefix Graph Solution) for edge coverage and edge-pair coverage. To assess the optimality of the path-based test cases produced by these strategies, we used fourteen metrics based on the properties of these test cases and 59 models that were created for three real-world systems. For all edge coverage, the PPT produced more optimal test cases than the alternatives in terms of the majority of the metrics. For edge-pair coverage, the PPT strategy yielded similar results to those of the alternatives. Thus, the PPT strategy is an applicable alternative, as it reects both the required test coverage level and the business priority in parallel. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The design process of Building Automation systems (BAS) is challenging and involves a multitude of specialized tools, each solving specific and complex subproblems, including wireless network design. Due to the enormous multitude of possible solutions, an early prioritization of promising design candidates is essential to prevent costly investigations of poor solution variants. This paper proposes the novel intermediate design step "Abstract Network Design" to quickly assess the scale of the required wireless network in order to identify designs suitable for further investigation. To demonstrate its feasibility, we develop a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model to quickly provide a conservative estimate of the number of required relays and their positions for BAS. The presented methodology is well-suited to determine design candidates that should be refined by more elaborate tools, so the scarce design resources can be applied more meaningfully. © 2018 Verlag Wissenschaftliche Scripten. Estimating adaptive cruise control model parameters from on-board radar units

Two new methods are presented for estimating car-following model parameters using data collected from Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) enabled vehicles. The vehicle is assumed to follow a constant time headway relative velocity model in which the parameters are unknown and to be determined. The first technique is a batch method that uses a least-squares approach to estimate the parameters from time series data of the vehicle speed, space gap, and relative velocity of a lead vehicle. The second method is an online approach that uses a particle filter to simultaneously estimate both the state of the system and the model parameters. Numerical experiments demonstrate the accuracy and computational performance of the methods relative to a commonly used simulation-based optimization approach. The methods are also assessed on empirical data collected from a 2019 model year ACC vehicle driven in a highway environment. Speed, space gap, and relative velocity data are recorded directly from the factory-installed radar unit via the vehicle's CAN bus. All three methods return similar mean absolute error values in speed and spacing compared to the recorded data. The least-squares method has the fastest run-time performance, and is up to 3 orders of magnitude faster than other methods. The particle filter is faster than real-time, and therefore is suitable in streaming applications in which the datasets can grow arbitrarily large. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. Safety-critical distributed cyber-physical systems (CPSs) have been found in a wide range of applications. Notably, they have displayed a great deal of utility in intelligent transportation, where autonomous vehicles communicate and cooperate with each other via a high-speed communication network. Such systems require an ability to identify maneuvers in real-time that cause dangerous circumstances and ensure the implementation always meets safety-critical requirements. In this paper, we propose a real-time decentralized reachability approach for safety verification of a distributed multi-agent CPS with the underlying assumption that all agents are time-synchronized with a low degree of error. In the proposed approach, each agent periodically computes its local reachable set and exchanges this reachable set with the other agents with the goal of verifying the system safety. Our method, implemented in Java, takes advantages of the timing information and the reachable set information that are available in the exchanged messages to reason about the safety of the whole system in a decentralized manner. Any particular agent can also perform local safety verification tasks based on their local clocks by analyzing the messages it receives. We applied the proposed method to verify, in real-time, the safety properties of a group of quadcopters performing a distributed search mission. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Recently, cloud radio access network (C-RAN) with caching as a service (CaaS) was proposed to merge the functionalities of communication, computing, and caching (CCC) together. In this paper, we dissect the interactions of CCC in C-RAN with CaaS from two dimensions: physical resource dimension and time dimension. In the physical resource dimension, we identify how to segment the baseband unit (BBU) pool resources (i.e., computation and storage) into different types of virtual machines (VMs). In the time dimension, we address how the long-term resource segmentation in the BBU pool impacts on the short-term transmit beamforming at the remote radio heads. We formulate the problem as a stochastic mixed-integer nonlinear programming (SMINLP) to minimize the system cost, including the server cost, VM cost and wireless transmission cost. After a series of approximation, including sample average approximation, successive convex approximation, and semidefinite relaxation, the SMINLP is approximated as a global consensus problem. The alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) is utilized to obtain the solution in a parallel fashion. Simulation results verify the convergence of our proposed algorithm, and also confirm that the proposed scheme is more cost-saving than that without considering the integration of CCC. © 1972-2012 IEEE.

Once a fitness fad, wearable and other related Internet of Things (IoT) devices are fast becoming common place in many different smart city applications such as healthcare. However, IoT devices, particularly inexpensive devices, often trade security and privacy for usability. One solution to protect privacy in the healthcare domain which has begun to be explored is blockchain-based technology. However, there are a number of limitations underpinning the use of blockchain, which limits its adoption particularly in applications that require low energy and computational footprints. In this paper, we present a transactional protocol for remote patient monitoring using directed acyclic graphs. We use a newer blockchain protocol called GHOSTDAG in both a public blockchain and a private blockchain. Our novel proposed solution aims to resolve known security issues for healthcare, without affecting scalability (a feature of classic blockchain architecture). © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.
