Web service composition in cloud: A fuzzy rule model

Background: Cloud Computing has drawn much attention in the industry due to its cost-efficient schema along with more prospects, such as elasticity and scalability nature of Cloud Com-puting. One of the main service models of a Cloud is software as a service, where many web services are published and hosted in the Cloud environment. Many web services offered in a Cloud have similar functionality, with different of characteristics non-functional requirements such as Quality of Service (QoS). In addition, as individual web services are limited in their capability. Therefore, there is a need for composing existing services to create new functionality in the form of composite service to fulfill the requirements of Cloud user for certain processes. Methods: This paper introduces a fuzzy rule approach to compose web service based on QoS from different Cloud Computing providers. The fuzzy rule is generated based on QoS of discovered web service from Cloud in order to compose web services that only match user requirements. The proposed model is based on an agent that is responsible for discovering and composing web service that only stratified user requirements Result: the experimental result shows that the proposed model is efficient in terms of time and the use of fuzzy rules to compose web services from different Cloud providers under different specifica-tions and configurations of Cloud Computing environment. Conclusion: In this paper, an agent-based model was proposed to compose web services based on fuzzy rule in Cloud environment. The agent is responsible for discovering web services and generat-ing composition plans based on offered QoS for each web service. The agent employs a set of fuzzy rules to carry out an intelligent selection to select the best composition plan that fulfills the requirements of the end user. Scheduling reputation maintenance in agent-based communities using game theory

Abstract-In agent-based systems, agents can be organized within groups, called communities, where members are providing similar or complementary services. Agentbased communities of web services is an example of such systems. Managing reputation of each agent and of the whole community is a key issue towards securing this type of systems, where a controller agent is designed to observe and check the behavior of each member to update and maintain the system's reputation. Scheduling the maintenance activity by deciding about the moment where the check has to be done is still an open problem. Because it is highly expensive, maintenance cannot be done every moment or based on small history of agents' behaviors. We propose in this paper a scheduling algorithm that helps the controller agent improve the quality of the reputation mechanism, which increases the trust value of users toward the community. The proposed algorithm is based on a class of games called Bayesian Stackelberg. Our Bayesian Stackelberg game is designed between the controller agent and community members, for example agent-based web services. We simulate and compare the efficiency of our algorithm with other stochastic techniques, namely uniform, normal and Poisson distributions. This research draws the lines for future work in the subject of optimizing reputation mechanisms through maintenance in different time intervals. © 2012 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.

The rapid growth of computer technologies and the advent of the World Wide Web have increased the amount and the complexity of multimedia information. A content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system has been developed as an efficient image retrieval tool, whereby the user can provide their query to the system to allow it to retrieve the user's desired image from the image database. However, the traditional relevance feedback of CBIR has some limitations that will decrease the performance of the CBIR system, such as the imbalance of training-set problem, classification problem, limited information from user problem, and insufficient training-set problem. Therefore, in this study, we proposed an enhanced relevance-feedback method to support the user query based on the representative image selection and weight ranking of the images retrieved. The support vector machine (SVM) has been used to support the learning process to reduce the semantic gap between the user and the CBIR system. From these experiments, the proposed learning method has enabled users to improve their search results based on the performance of CBIR system. In addition, the experiments also proved that by solving the imbalance training set issue, the performance of CBIR could be improved.

Currently, software development organisations are expected to deliver projects on time and on budget in a context of fixed-price contracts. The main goal of this research paper is to design a new configuration model using, as a basis, the European International standards ECSS-E-40 and ECSS-Q-80B together with the ISO-19761, for measuring in particular the embedded software. Measurement of such non-functional requirements (NFRs) should be feasible and as early as possible in software engineering projects. The motivation for this research project is to contribute to improve some of the inputs required for cost estimation techniques for embedded software, more specifically the measurement of NFRs. Semantic conflicts detection is considered to be one of the essential steps that should be carried out effectively, in order to pave the way towards establishing semantic interoperability between heterogeneous Web services. To achieve that, ontology plays the backbone of the detection process, which required to be implemented in a high quality manner. However, choosing a methodology to build this ontology is very difficult, since a considerable number of methodologies have been emerged to guide the ontology development process. Therefore, this study aims at reviewing and comparing the most accepted and used methodologies, with the aim of choosing an effective methodology from ontology engineering perspective to be recommended and used for building semantic conflicts detection ontology. Furthermore, to provide some useful insights for both theoretical and practical purposes to help ontology developers to choose the right methodology and to advance the state of the art. The comparison was performed against the common ontology development life cycle. The result of this survey and comparison recommend a methodology called METHONTOLOGY to be used for implementing semantic conflicts detection ontology. © Maxwell Scientific Organization, 2014.

Recognition of human motion with deep reinforcement learning

Human–computer interaction (HCI) has become an important research area for improving the user experience on Internet of Things (IoT) devices. In particular, gesture recognition and daily-activity recognition have attracted the interest of numerous researchers. Human motions have been predicted by analyzing accelerometer data from which features were extracted to be classified into a specific activity. However, due to the memory limitations of IoT devices, it is hard to utilize all the raw data from an accelerometer sensor. This paper proposes a deep reinforcement learning algorithm to recognize human arm movements using a commercial wearable device, the Myo armband. Agents learn the patterns that are the acceleration data of human motion. In addition, using raw accelerometer sensor data without feature extraction could make an end-to-end structure. In order to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method, a deep neural network (DNN) and a deep reinforcement learning algorithm are compared. As a result, a deep reinforcement learning agent yielded accuracy similar to a DNN using less data, and the agent could learn time-series human motion acceleration data. Top-down process improvement approaches provide a high-level model of what the process of a software development organization should be. Such models are based on the consensus of a designated working group on how software should be developed or maintained. They are very useful in that they provide general guidelines on where to start improving, and in which order. However, the majority of them have only worked in scenarios within large companies. We aim to help small software development organizations to adopt an iterative approach by providing a Process Improvement Web-based Tool (SysProVal). This paper presents research into the proposal that a small organization may use this tool to define and implement a set of project management practices that can be strengthened using the CMMI-DEV 1.2 model as reference. Detection of arrhythmia using 1D convolution neural network with LSTM model

Considering the high death rate from cardiovascular diseases, it is important to detect an irregular heart rhythm in order to prevent potential tragedy. The purpose of this paper is to present automatic detection of arrhythmia based on electrocardiography. We suggest a one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D CNN) with long short-term memory (LSTM). The suggested architecture is compared with two other deep learning methods: the 1D CNN and the multi-layer perceptron (MLP) model. To evaluate performance, we measured the overall accuracy, macro-averaged precision, and macro-averaged recall of our proposed method as being 92.03%, 90.98%, and 86.15%, respectively. The results demonstrate that the 1D CNN-with-LSTM model outperforms the two other models. © 2020 Institute of Electronics and information Engineers. All rights reserved.

Battery capacity of mobile devices is a critical issue for developing green mobile applications. Therefore, energy efficiency has become a major concern nowadays for energyrestricted embedded system such as smartphones and tablets. In industry, it is a challenge for them to develop an energy efficient product while meeting customer expectation. In previous study, there is lack of method that uses software metrics to measure power consumption of mobile applications. In this paper we have identified several software metrics that can be used as indicator to measure mobile application power consumption. The objective of this study is to which identify software metrics is suitable act as indicators to measure power consumption of mobile applications. This can help mobile software designer to measure power used for their mobile applications in the early design phase. In order to prove this concept, we randomly select two open source mobile applications as our case study. The power used of a mobile application is collected by using Trepn Profiler (Power profiling tool for Qualcomm processor CPU). We capture the actual power consumption and estimated power consumption (without calculate Android OS and profiling tool power) with the profiler. There are overall 18 available metrics based on Object-Oriented Metrics. We map the 18 metrics with the power consumption captured by Trepn Profiler. The results shown that McCabe cyclomatic complexity, number of parameters, nested block depth, weighted methods per class, number of overridden method, number of methods, total lines of code and method lines have significant relationship with power consumption of mobile application. Therefore, these eight metrics can be used as the indicator to measure mobile applications' power consumption. © 2015 IEEE.
