Nowadays, Cloud computing became one of the most important fields in computer paradigm researches, because it provides many advantages and benefits for all users whether the organizations or the individuals, by granting them the needed resources and services. Service level agreement (SLA) is an essential topic in terms of cloud computing, it is a contractual agreement signed between cloud user and cloud provider in order to manage and define the level of access for the resources and quality of services provided. Continues changes of technologies and requirements for both user and provider make updating SLA necessary, to ensure that services provided are meeting their needs among multiple QoS (Quality of Service) parameters. Intensive studies have been presented for building a flexible SLA. In our study, we proposed a dynamic model for updating cloud computing SLA overtime, in order to get a flexible, adaptive SLA and avoid costly violations. © 2016 ACM.

Decentralized Cooperation Strategies in Two-Dimensional Traffic of Cellular Automata

We study the two-dimensional traffic of cellular automata using computer simulation. We propose two type of decentralized cooperation strategies, which are called stepping aside (CS-SA) and choosing alternative routes (CS-CAR) respectively. We introduce them into an existing two-dimensional cellular automata (CA) model. CS-SA is designed to prohibit a kind of ping-pong jump when two objects standing together try to move in opposite directions. CS-CAR is designed to change the solution of conflict in parallel update. CS-CAR encourages the objects involved in parallel conflicts choose their alternative routes instead of waiting. We also combine the two cooperation strategies (CS-SA-CAR) to test their combined effects. It is found that the system keeps on a partial jam phase with nonzero velocity and flow until the density reaches one. The ratios of the ping-pong jump and the waiting objects involved in conflict are decreased obviously, especially at the free phase. And the average flow is improved by the three cooperation strategies. Although the average travel time is lengthened a bit by CS-CAR, it is shorten by CS-SA and CS-SA-CAR. In addition, we discuss the advantage and applicability of decentralized cooperation modeling.

Social platforms such as Gab and Parler, branded as ‘free-speech’ networks, have seen a significant growth of their user base in recent years. This popularity is mainly attributed to the stricter moderation enforced by mainstream platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit. In this work we provide the first large scale analysis of hate-speech on Parler. We experiment with an array of algorithms for hate-speech detection, demonstrating the limitations of transfer learning in that domain, given the illusive and ever changing nature of the ways hate-speech is delivered. In order to improve classification accuracy we annotated 10K Parler posts, which we use to fine-tune a BERT classifier. Classification of individual posts is then leveraged for the classification of millions of users via label propagation over the social network. Classifying users by their propensity to disseminate hate, we find that hate mongers make about 16% of Parler active users, and that they have distinct characteristics comparing to other user groups. We find that hate mongers are more active, more central, express distinct levels of sentiment, and convey a distinct array of emotions like anger and sadness. We further complement our analysis by comparing the trends observed in Parler to those found in Gab. To the best of our knowledge, this is among the first works to analyze hate speech in Parler in a quantitative manner and on the user level. © 2022 Association for Computational Linguistics.

In the present paper, a comprehensive review was performed on the application of technology acceptance models (TAM) in the healthcare sector. The important post-2019 published papers were searched and extracted by the Google Scholar search engine and important papers were taken into consideration for further analysis related to the use of recently utilized models on the final results of TAM based on different case studies. Although TAM has shown to have an outstanding role in predicting clinician acceptance and health information technology (IT) usage, there is still a need for improvement in cases of standardization, further relationship testing, better data reporting, and the exploration of new variables. In this regard, one can prioritize identifying clinicians' specific beliefs about health IT, enhancing the applicability of TAM in healthcare by evaluating contextual factors, barriers, facilitators, and social norms impacting IT adoption. In addition, based on the classification of recent studies into general variables and results, usefulness, ease of use, trust, and privacy concerns were determined as important factors in patients' acceptance of technology in healthcare services, and related recommendations were provided in this work. TAM-based models offer valuable insights into the adoption and acceptance of healthcare technologies and researchers and healthcare organizations should be mindful of their limitations and consider future research directions to enhance their applicability in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape. © 2024 Interfaces and Human Computer Interaction. Patterns are powerful when used in combinations. Identifying relationships between patterns is challenging. The existing approaches and pattern formats reflect the relationships with other patterns in a very informal and traditional way. We are proposing an automatic approach which discover such relationships from the patterns descriptive text using text mining and natural language processing techniques. In this work, we demonstrate how it contributes in inference of relationships and its strength among patterns. © 2020 ACM.

Based on analyzing that solution diversity can be improved by bringing crossover operation into particle swarm optimization, crossover particle swarm optimizer is put forward and applied to optimize multi-dimension benchmark functions. Outcomes testify that Crossover PSO can achieve better performances than other current mended PSOs, and cost less CPU time. Four self-adaptive probability models are adopted to adjust the crossover probability based on particle swarm optimization convergence model. Results and convergence rate of the four models are compared and analyzed finally. © 2007 IEEE.

Due to environmental mismatch, speech recognition systems often exhibit drastic performance degradation in noisy conditions. This paper presents a model-based technique termed Adaptive Parallel Model Combination (APMC) which compensates the initial acoustic models to reduce the discrepancy. APMC used the well-known PMC technique to composite a set of corrupted speech models, while fine tuning the mean parameter of the models using a transformation-based adaptation technique called Maximum Likelihood Spectral Transformation (MLST). Evaluated on a context-independent phone recognition task, APMC was found to be superior to both PMC and MLST, especially in non-stationary noisy conditions. On average, APMC has achieved 48.81% improvement over the initial models, whereas PMC and MLST have improved the accuracy by 34.12% and 35.23% respectively.

This study explores modern fake news detection techniques in the Afan Oromo language, aiming to contribute to advancing research in this field. It explores deep learning methods for transformers, including Bidirectional Encoder Representations, Attention, and Generative Adversarial Networks, and their applications in various industries such as machine translation, email spam detection, information extraction, summarization, medical, and question-answering. The paper investigates false news identification, its categories, characteristics, and taxonomy, and compares machine learning and deep learning algorithms for fake news, liars, and corpus datasets. It proposes that future studies use picture data and deeper learning network topologies to decrease erroneous outcomes. The research endeavor aims to illuminate and advance the understanding of the complex difficulties and possibilities that exist in this particular sector, thereby acting as a crucial resource for decision-makers, academics, and professionals, while also encouraging the creation of more effective and trustworthy methodologies that can adequately address and alleviate the dissemination of false information shared on various social media channels. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
