Some aspects of the history of the first Soviet computer development are described. The idea of this work was offered by Sergey lebedev who formulated the principles, wrote a plan and suggested the structure of the computer which was named BESM – Fast Electronic Calculating Machine. Some new documents are presented – a working notebook with lebedev's handwritten notes and a plan of a preliminary project draft development. BESM computer became the first in the long series of Soviet computers built under the leadership of lebedev. It also was used as a prototype of the first Chinese computer built with the help of Soviet engineers. © IFIP International Federation for Information Processing 2011.

The work of the creators of the first electronic computer of the BESM series is briefly described. This computer served as the technical basis for the first Russian project in computer graphics area. The article also tells about the activities of Russian pioneers of computer graphics, who worked for the Academy of Sciences of the USSR at the institute of precise mechanics and computer engineering and at the institute of Applied Mathematics. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper presents a set of operation quality assessments of systems intended for detecting and localising objects of interest depending on the content of input video. The development of an input video registration generator has been carried out based on object and camera movement trajectories and on image distortions in a frame. A description of the main modules of the complex has been presented and experimental studies of localisation detection algorithms have been conducted.

Several types of statistical covert channels that break the informational system security policy ensuring a reliable information transfer between hostile agents can be detected by a competent warden. Floating-point adders use double-path structure to reduce the latency. In the present implementation there are two paths: NORMALIZING and ROUNDING. The NORMALIZING path includes significand adder, normalization shift amount generator, normalizer, result exponent correction adder. The MSBs of the shift amount for result normalization are anticipated, and the LSBs of the shift amount are detected. Both parts of the shift amount generator take into account the maximum shift amount implied by the ANSI/IEEE Standard No 754. That makes possible to implement gradual underflow mode in hardware with small area and latency overhead. The presented leading zeroes anticipation analyzes input operand rather than the summands of the adder. A method of inexact anticipation correction has been proposed that delivers the exact result without extra logical levels. Area and critical paths have been evaluated.

Feedforward networks with intermediate or "hidden" layers between the input and the output layers are considered. The back-propagation algorithm is a main reason for such resurgence of interest in this area because it is very simple and in some cases a wonderfully efficient method of the nets learning. Today there are a lot of program packages for simulation of artificial neural systems. Unfortunately most of them are unavailable for native programmers because of cost, for example, neural net simulator in MATLAB, or functional possibility of these systems is insufficient for developing real-world applications (for example Brain Maker Pro). The authors present a tool kit working under Windows, using above all its graphical interface, to investigate connectionist approaches in the speech processing.

The article presents a strickly consistent test for detecting statistical convert channels. Two computer systems KA and KB were considered, wherein they are connected by link S. Brief description and information about the theorems, proofs and lemmas is further presented. The probability measure determined by a consistent family of finite-dimensional distributions was discussed.

The paper1 is devoted to creating a covert channel through a PROXY server. The channel is based upon data permutation in server buffer using the sequence of packets coming from the router connected to the PROXY server. The resulting data flow allows to create a statistical covert channel that transfers information by manipulating expectation and dispersion of the number of increasing pairs in the sequence of network addresses. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.

One of the major challenges in imaging biological tissues using optical techniques,such as optical coherence tomography(OCT),is the lack of light penetration due to highly turbid structures within the *** clearing techniques enable the biological samples to be more optically homogeneous,allowing for deeper penetration of light into the *** study investigates the effect of optical clearing utilizing various concentrations of glucose solution(10%,30%,and 50%)on porcine skin.A gold-plated mirror was imaged beneath the tissue and percentage clearing was determined by monitoring the change in reflected light intensity from the mirror over *** ratio of percentage clearing per tissue thickness for 10%,30% and 50% glucose was determined to be 4.7±1.6%mm^(−1)(n=6),10.6±2.0%mm^(−1)(n=7)and 21.8±2.2%mm^(−1)(n=5),*** was concluded that while higher glucose concentration has the highest optical clearing effect,a suitable concentration should be chosen for the purpose of clearing,considering the osmotic stress on the tissue sample.

Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Melnikov was a disciple of the great Russian scientist, academician Sergei lebedev, who was the founder of the national computer science, the creator of the first Soviet computers, the chief designer of computers that made up the famous BESM line (high-speed electronic computers). Since 1950, being the fifth-year student, he worked in the Academic institute of precise mechanics and computer engineering (IPMCE), where participated in the development of the first soviet electronic computer. The serial BESM version was called BESM-2, and Melnikov became the executive in charge. Later this computer was replicated in China. A significant role in the life of Melnikov was played by the creation of the transistor BESM-6 computer, on which he worked as a deputy chief designer. In 1967, this computer was put into production and was produced for 17 years. In 1969 Melnikov started the design and development of a computing system "BESM-6 pairing hardware interface" (HI-6). In 1975, during the Soviet-American space flight 'Soyuz-Apollo' the operation was carried out on the system, built on the basis of HI-6 and BESM-6, that also provided a highly automated processing of ballistic and telemetry data in the Soviet Mission Control Center. Since 1978 Melnikov began to develop a new supercomputer, which had the name 'Electronics SS BIS' and was close to the American supercomputer Cray 1 in its instruction set.
