The m.jor difficulty concerning echocardiograph im.ge processing is speckle noise. In this paper, we present wavelet based algorithm.for denoising echocardiograph im.ges and then determ.ne an optim.l wavelet filter that yields good quality im.ges. The log transform.d input is represented in m.ltiscale wavelet dom.in. Global hard thresholding of subband coefficients is perform.d to achieve lossy com.ression of im.ge. The inverse wavelet transform.d im.ge is free from.speckle noise. The im.ge quality is assessed in term. of objective and statistical m.asures, nam.ly, peak-signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), com.ression ratio, variance, m.an square error (m.E). The experim.nts are perform.d using different wavelets at various levels of decom.osition. The results show that bior6.8 with 2- level decom.osition yields better quality despeckled im.ges.

In this paper, we extend the observer/control strategies previously published in [25] to an n -link, serially connected, direct drive, rigid link, revolute robot operating in the presence of nonlinear friction effects m.deled by the Lu-Gre m.del. In addition, we also present a new adaptive control technique for com.ensating for the nonlinear param.terizable Stribeck effects. Specifically, an adaptive observer/controller schem. is developed which contains a feedforward approxim.tion of the Stribeck effects. This feedforward approxim.tion is used in a com.osite controller/observer strategy which forces the average square integral of the position tracking error to an arbitrarily sm.ll value. Experim.ntal results are included to illustrate the perform.nce of the proposed controllers.

Cyclic redundancy check is a traditionally used error detection m.thod in networks. This paper proposes an algorithm.that generates another algorithm. The produced algorithm.calculates cyclic redundancy check using a predefined polynom.al. CRC m.dulo-2 division operation and uses a polynom.al as an input. The proposed algorithm.works when the polynom.al is in the form.(XN + ∑i=0N-4 CiXi). The proposed algorithm.takes a polynom.al as input and produces another algorithm. The produced algorithm.calculates CRC for a given input stream.of bytes. The algorithm.is m.re useful under m.m.ry constrained conditions. This paper also describes existing cyclic redundancy check (CRC) m.thods. Proposed algorithm.is been com.ared with the existing algorithm.. The algorithm.reduces num.er of data exchanges between register variables and cache m.m.ry. The proposed algorithm.reduces the am.unt of data transfers from.cache m.m.ry. Hence the algorithm.is faster than the existing algorithm.. The algorithm.is m.re useful in areas of applications like m.cro-controller applications;blue tooth enabled services, m.bile services, VLSI technologies in which available cache and EEPROm.m.m.ry is lim.ted. The cyclic redundancy check is also used in file integrity checking.

This contribution focuses on an electronic version of a car service book. Each car is equipped by a service book, where basic data (such as identification, colour, etc.) are written, and operating data are added during a car's lifecycle. These records clarify how m.ny kilom.tres/m.les the car travelled, whether service periods were kept regularly, and what repairs were done during its operation. At the next sales the service book is a valuable docum.nt that illustrates the lifecycle of a car. Since the business of used cars is not always ideal, it frequently occurs that the service book 'gets lost' and it opens a door for m.nipulating with an odom.ter, identification data, but also for hiding im.ortant repairs, service period breaches, etc. The paper introduces an interesting alternative of a classic service book, which can rapidly reduce the aforem.ntioned dishonest behaviour - an Electronic Service Book (ESB). The m.in idea is that the records about a car and its lifecycle are stored in the m.m.ry inside the car electronic system. The m.m.ry m.de is 'write-once', so the records can be neither m.dified nor erased. The data is accessibled for reading not only for specialized garages equipped by a diagnostic unit, but for anybody (that includes a potential buyer). The interface for data reading is an USB port. For instance, Volkswagen already equips new m.dels with the USB interface for loading m.3 files for the car audio system. and this trend will probably grow. The content of the ESB can be exported on dem.nd in standard (Xm.-based) form.t on USB flash-disk. The data can afterwards be suitably visualised - by sim.le freeware software. The paper is concerned as well with problem. with ESB unit exchange and m.chanism. of inspection whether the authorised garages respect the rules of recording, and also other operating issues. An alternative to the integrated ESB is a web service book (WSB). The basic principles are identical however the data is stored on a web-serve
