Stewart McDowall was born in Dublin epublic of Ireland in 1967. He received the M. Eng. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Queen's University of Belfast in 1990. In the same year he was presented with a Distinction Award from the Department of Education of Northern Ireland and he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the Microwave Research Group at Q.U.B. His principal research area is the electromagnetic field mapping of microwave systems using concurrient programming. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers. Lee Thaim Wee was awarded the degree of B. Eng. in Electronics from the Queen's University of Belfast in July 1991. He is currently serving in the Malaysian Armed Forces. Vincent F. Fusco was educated at the Queen's Univeristy of Belfast where he obtained the degree of Ph.D. in 1982. He has worked as a research engineer on short-range radar and radio telementry systems. Currently he is a reader in Microwave Communications in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science the Queen's Univeristy of Belfast. His current research interests include non-linear microwave circuit simulation and concurrent programming techniques for electromagnetic field problems with particular emphasis on EMC applications. He has published numerous research papers in these areas. He is the author of the bookMicrowave Circuits Analysis and Computer Aided Design Prentice-Hall 1987. Dr Fusco is a Chartered Electrical Engineer and a Member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers.

He is employed by Eskom (National Electric Company RSA) in the Transmission Engineering Division where his corporate responsibility includes high voltage direct current transmission and voltage quality. He obtained the 8. Eng. M. Eng. and D. Eng degrees in 1983 1985 and 1990 respectively from the Rand Afrikaans University. He was co-recipient of one IEEE Prize Paper Award. Eng. and hit. Eng. degrees from the Rand Afrikaans University Johannesburg/RSA in 1989 and 1991 respectively. He has at present submitted a Thesis for the D. Eng. degree at the same University. His field of interest includes power electronic applications in high voltage networks and Active Power Filtering. He was co-recipient of one IEEE Prize Paper Award. Eng. degree from the University of Pretona/RSA and the degree of Doctorate of Technical Science from the University of Technology Eindhovenmhe Netherlands in 1966 and 1969. He has worked with the S.A. Iron and Steel Corporation. the University of Pretoria and was on the technical and scientific staff of the University in Eindhoven. between 1961 and 1972. From 1971 to the present he has been a Full Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Rand Afrikaans University Johannesburg/RSA at present holding a chair in Power Electronics and has been involved in extensive industrial work. Since 1984 he has been a member of the Air Defense Techniques Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory as a Research Staff member and as a Senior Staff member from 1989. His research interests are in the areas of electromagnetic wave scattering and propagation theoretical model development and data interpretation for microwave remote sensing. He is the coauthor ofTheory of Microwave Remote Sensing(Wiley 1985). He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at Syracuse University for his graduate studies in 1989 where he is currently a research assistant. His research interests are in microwave measurements numerical electromagnetics and signal processing. Biographies and photos are not available for M. Manela and R. K. Lade. Tapan K. Sarkar (Sf69-M'76-SM'X1) was born in Calcutta. India on August 2 1948. He received the BTech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur India in 1969 the MScE degree from the University of New Brunswick Fredericton Canada in 1971. and the MS and PhD degrees from Syracuse University. Syracuse NY in 1975. From 1975-1976 he was with the TACO Division of the General Instruments Corporation. He was with the Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester NY) from 1976-1985. He was a Research Fellow at the Gordon Mckay Laboratory Harvard University Cambridge MA from 1977 to 1978. He is now a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Syracuse University. His current research interests deal with numerical solutions of operator equations arising in electromagnetics and signal processing with application to system design. He obtained one of the “ best solution” awards in May 1977 at the Rome Air Development Center (RADC) Spectral Estimation Workshop. He has authored or coauthored more than 154 journal articles and conference papers and has written chapters in eight books. Dr. Sarkar is a registered professional engineer in the state of New York. He received the Best Paper Award of the IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility in 1979. After working in Laser and Optical Technology in the Department d'Optica di la Universitat de Valéncia he received a grant to work in numerical techniques for electromagnetics in the Departnment de Fisica Aplicada. He currently works in Computer Science and Communications in the Servei d'lnformàtica de la Universitat de Valéncia. Vicente Such was born in Valéncia Spain on August 10 1943. He received the Licenciado degree in Physics in 1967 and the PhD degree in 1971 both from the Universitat de Valéncia Spain. From 1967 to 1974 he was Assistant Professor with the Department of Electricity and Magnetism Universitat de Valéncia and with the Universitat Politécnica de Valkncia. From1974 to 1981 he was Professor of Electricity and Magnetism at the Universitat de Extremadura Universitat de Valéncia and Universidad de Palma de Mallorca Spain. He is now a Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Universitat de Valéncia.
