Probing off-diagonal eigenstate thermalization with tensor networks

energy filter methods in combination with quantum simulation can efficiently access the properties of quantum many-body systems at finite energy densities [S. Lu et al., PRX Quantum 2, 020321 (2021)]. Classically simulating this algorithm with tensor networks can be used to investigate the microcanonical properties of large spin chains, as recently shown by Y. Yang et al. [Phys. Rev. B 106, 024307 (2022)]. Here we extend this strategy to explore the properties of off-diagonal matrix elements of observables in the energy eigenbasis, fundamentally connected to the thermalization behavior and the eigenstate thermalization hypothesis. We test the method on integrable and nonintegrable spin chains of up to 60 sites, much larger than accessible with exact diagonalization. Our results allow us to explore the scaling of the off-diagonal functions with the size and energy difference, and to establish quantitative differences between integrable and nonintegrable cases.

An in-depth analysis of user-centered design's function in the context of augmented and virtual reality demonstrates how 'User Persona mapping' can help satisfy the target audience's requirements. As shown by this study, it is crucial to consider user needs and preferences throughout the design phase of augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) interfaces. essential to this analysis is the 'User Persona mapping' technique, which entails the construction of detailed user personas based on extensive user research. By synthesizing user attributes, behaviors, and preferences, designers can better m.e. the expectations of their end users if they first construct a concrete representation of that demographic. Through real-world examples, this article demonstrates how this strategy can be used to improve the usability of augmented and virtual reality interfaces. This study contends that in the future of interactive technology, empathic design will be essential for ensuring that extended and virtual reality experiences are not only innovative but also authentically user-centric and engaging. © 2023 Ieee.

Due to its highly sensitive initial values and parameters and complicated features such as ergodicity and pseudorandom.e.s, chaos-based systems are extensively used in digital image encryption. On the other hand, the authors looked at the impact of these maps on the encryption of colour images. The current research presents an image encryption using Fisher-Yates shuffling (FYS) and a 2D-LTm. FYS is a program that creates random permutations of finite sequences. At first, this FYS is used for randomly permuting the plain mage in rows and columns wise. Second, at the diffusion step, the 2D-LTm is utilized to confuse the values of pixel in the shuffled image. The suggested method is used to process a variety of images. many tests are carried out to ensure the proposed algorithm’s security and performance. Furthermore, numerical simulations and experimental findings have ensured that the suggested method can withstand various attacks. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The advent of digital transformation has revolutionized the way businesses operate. Containers are a cutting-edge invention in the world of virtualization, gaining im.e.se popularity in recent years. They have replaced traditional business continuity solutions and are now used to address highly demanding business needs. multiple containers and orchestration frameworks are available, both as standalone and cloud-based services. However, developers and industry experts face challenges in identifying and evaluating the appropriate containers and orchestration frameworks for their application needs. The selected tools may not always be feasible due to a lack of available features, inability to provide agility, and lack of platform support. When applications are deployed across multiple containers, coordination and management among container clusters become critical. Since containers play a pivotal role in edge deployment, cloud-native, continuous integration, and continuous deployment, it is vital to have centralized orchestration for proper re-source management and scheduling. This paper discusses and compares emerging container platforms and cloud-centric orchestration frameworks, highlighting the challenges involved.

All types of multimedia data, including digital images, audio, text, and video, are now easily accessible on the internet due to the phenomenal growth of internet services and wireless telecommunication systems, including mobile and computer systems, in order to achieve a specific degree of security, integrity, and secrecy as well as to prevent malicious access to the information. In contrast, for data storage and transmission, cryptographic procedures are necessary. This study presents brand-new, very effective colour image encryption and decryption algorithms that use diffusion and pixel scrambling. At first Zig-Zag permutation was used to scramble the data. Then, by concealing the statistical makeup of the pixels, the two-dimensional Lozi map is used to distort further the connection between neighbouring pixels in the original image. Furthermore, the diffusion in three colour channels is accomplished using a 3D logistic map. During the decryption process, the image pixels are again moved back to their original positions. The chaotic mapping technique encrypts images to reduce the correlation between encrypted and unencrypted versions. As described in this study, the tested and examined encryption algorithm on certain colour photos showed substantial security and authenticity to resist statistical and differential cyber attacks.

Community detection is a fundamental problem in computational sciences with extensive applications in various fields. The most commonly used methods are the algorithms designed to maximize modularity over different partitions of the network nodes. Using 80 real and random networks from a wide range of contexts, we investigate the extent to which current heuristic modularity maximization algorithms succeed in returning maximum-modularity (optimal) partitions. We evaluate (1) the ratio of the algorithms’ output modularity to the maximum modularity for each input graph, and (2) the maximum similarity between their output partition and any optimal partition of that graph. We compare eight existing heuristic algorithms against an exact integer programming method that globally maximizes modularity. The average modularity-based heuristic algorithm returns optimal partitions for only 19.4% of the 80 graphs considered. Additionally, results on adjusted mutual information reveal substantial dissimilarity between the sub-optimal partitions and any optimal partition of the networks in our experiments. more importantly, our results show that near-optimal partitions are often disproportionately dissimilar to any optimal partition. Taken together, our analysis points to a crucial limitation of commonly used modularity-based heuristics for discovering communities: they rarely produce an optimal partition or a partition resembling an optimal partition. If modularity is to be used for detecting communities, exact or approximate optimization algorithms are recom.e.dable for a more methodologically sound usage of modularity within its applicability limits. © The Author(s) 2023.

Recently, large language models (LLms) have been successfully applied to many fields, showing outstanding comprehension and reasoning capabilities. Despite their great potential, LLms usually require dedicated pre-training and fine-tuning for domain-specific applications such as wireless networks. These adaptations can be extremely demanding for computational resources and datasets, while most network devices have limited computation power, and there are a limited num.e. of high-quality networking datasets. To this end, this work explores LLm.e.abled wireless networks from the prompt engineering perspective, i.e., designing prompts to guide LLms to generate desired output without updating LLm parameters. Compared with other LLm-driven methods, prompt engineering can better align with the demands of wireless network devices, e.g., higher deployment flexibility, rapid response time, and lower requirements on computation power. In particular, this work first introduces LLm fundamentals and compares different prompting techniques such as in-context learning, chain-of-thought, and self-refinement. Then we propose two novel prompting schemes for network applications: iterative prompting for network optimization, and self-refined prompting for network prediction. The case studies show that the proposed schemes can achieve comparable performance as conventional machine learning techniques, and our proposed prompting-based methods avoid the complexity of dedicated model training and fine-tuning, which is one of the key bottlenecks of existing machine learning techniques. © 2024, CC0.

Data security and privacy are essential for transmitting, storing, and preserving medical images. This article provides a secure chaotic framework for medical image encryption. The suggested technique has two stages: bit-level permutation and 2D SIm-based diffusion. The lossless technique is recom.e.ded for medical image encryption and decryption. It addresses the limitations of low-dimensional chaotic maps, such as small intervals and few parameters, and medical images’ unique texture and form. The keyspace of the new method is sufficiently big, and the encryption and decryption procedures are key-sensitive. Simulations and testing validate the new algorithm’s effectiveness and efficiency. According to security assessments, the algorithm is resistant to common attacks. A comparison of several encryption methods is performed. The proposed encryption method surpasses current encryption techniques when it comes to encrypting medical images. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
