Source code comments play a critical role in software development by facilitating issue resolution and reducing maintenance time and cost. However, the impact of code comments, particularly those aiding program comprehension, on expediting issue resolution remains insufficiently explored. This study investigates the impact of code comments on issue resolution time for issues related to pulling requests involving code maintenance. To this end, ten of the most popular Java repositories on GitHub were selected, and closed pull request-related issues were identified using a specific criterion. Comments were then extracted from classes modified by the pull requests, and a trained BERT model was utilized to classify them according to their usefulness. The percentage of comments relative to code size, the percentage of useful comments relative to all comments, and the average issue resolution time were computed and examined for correlations. The results indicate a negative correlation (-0.68) between the percentage of code comments in modified classes and the average issue resolution time. A stronger negative correlation (-0.73) was found between the percentage of useful code comments to all comments in modified classes and the average issue resolution time per class. These findings demonstrate that code with more comments, particularly useful ones, leads to faster issue resolution. This serves as a basis for further research into the impact of various fine-grained comment types on issue resolution time in different programming languages. Also, it can assist developers in writing more effective comments that accelerate bug-fixing and reduce softwaremaintenance efforts.

this paper proposes a conceptual model for assessing user satisfaction in metaverse-based learning, a novel field that utilizes virtual reality technology to create an immersive and interactive learning experience. Despite the growing popularity of metaverse-based learning, there is a lack of research on how to evaluate user satisfaction in this type of learning environment. The proposed model includes four factors: Perceived Trialability, Perceived Observability, User Compatibility, and Perceived Complexity, each of which can be measured using statistical methods. The study aims to address the research gap in evaluating user satisfaction in metaverse-based learning and provides a model for educators and researchers to assess and improve user satisfaction in this innovative learning environment. The findings of this study contribute to the growing body of literature on metaverse-based learning and provide insights into the unique challenges associated with implementing this technology in educational settings.

Autonomous systems are able to make decisions and potentially take actions without direct human intervention, which requires some knowledge about the system and its environment as well as goal-oriented reasoning. In computer systems, one can derive such behavior from the concept of a rational agent with autonomy (“control over its own actions”), reactivity (“react to events from the environment”), proactivity (“act on its own initiative”), and sociality (“interact with other agents”) as fundamental properties \n[1]\n. Autonomous systems will undoubtedly pervade into our everyday lives, and we will find them in a variety of domains and applications including robotics, transportation, health care, communications, and entertainment to name a few. \nThe articles in this month’s special issue cover concepts and fundamentals, architectures and techniques, and applications and case studies in the exciting area of self-awareness in autonomous systems.

Objective Antimicrobials are used interchangeably in medical practice, contributing to the emergence of resistant microbial strains. methods This study describes the antimicrobial audit performed by forecasting analysis of medical records of 846 patients at the Hospital Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz do Sul - Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil. Results Of the patients studied, 134 (15.8%) received antimicrobials. The audit was conducted interactively, with intervention and discussion with the prescriber. Considering the presumptive diagnosis and prescribed drug, it was verified that 74.6% of patients on antimicrobials received what was considered the first choice treatment. Inadequate antimicrobial agent for clinical diagnosis (5.2%) and lack of adjustment for renal function (43.7%) were the most frequent errors. Conclusion A strategic plan aimed at the rational use of antimicrobials based on educational and interventionist practices can help the infection control professional to adjust the routines to improve healthcare quality.

It was with great excitement that we planned the combined meetings of Northeast Aquaculture Conference and Exposition (NACE) and the International Conference on Shellfish Restoration (ICSR) with the 33rd milford Aquaculture Seminar (mAS). Bringing these different but complementary audiences together resulted in a meeting that combined many different aspects of fisheries restoration and aquaculture under one *** hundred attendees including government representatives, research scientists, industry, and academia at both the university and vocational high school levels attended this event. The meeting commenced on Wednesday December 12th 2012, with over eighty people attending seven field trips to area aquaculture farms and research facilities. The formal program began on Thursday, December 13th with a plenary session including invited speakers Eric schwabb, Acting Assistant Secretary for Conservation and management at NOAA; Sebastian Belle, Executive Director of the maine Aquaculture Association and Boze Hancock from the Nature Conservancy, who discussed the role of aquaculture in fisheries restoration. John Bullard, the Northeast Regional Administrator of NOAA Fisheries Service, addressed the group during the luncheon the following day. The technical papers and workshops presented were divided into 35 sessions over three days of the meeting and included topics such as the history of aquaculture, aquaculture hatchery innovations, siting and planning issues, risk management, aquaculture business management, ocean acidification, climate change, as well as aquaculture disease issues and potential remedies. Having persons present who have experienced problems and successes, along with those in manufacturing and government responsible for addressing concerns and sharing best practices, was invaluable. Discussions among this cross-section of persons who represent different aspects of aquaculture were as important as the well-presented and interesting formal papers
