Arabic named entities (ANE) are often sources of information. That is why they are used by several applications of natural language processing (NLP) mainly in information retrieval. In order to improve the relevance of the information obtained, links to free resources can be established. Indeed, the recognition of these entities requires the use of adequate formalisms. In this paper, we propose an approach based on transducer cascades which allows the recognition of ANE more precisely the dates. This categorycan be an integral part in the events and the names of places. The implementation of the developed transducers cascades elaborated by using the CasSys tool is available under the Unitex platform. The results are motivating. © 2015 IEEE.

Since the first implementations of its principles, the Semantic Web presented a field of free work to ensure its integration and adaptation to the various domains of research. The application of Semantic Web technologies into the process of search in a collection of SMIL documents appears a promising initiative seen the evolution of this language through its various versions. In this paper we propose a semantic search tool in a collection of SMIL documents;this tool adopts a procedure composed of three modules: description, interrogation and representation of the results. We employ for the first module metadata commonly used to annotate information semantically, and for the second we solicit languages of Semantic Web such as RDF, OWL and SPARQL and seen the importance of collaboration of ontologies in the semantic description of multimedia resources, we also present the technique of concepts connection allowing to extend an initial ontology.

In the recent years, radical communities have become very aware of the enormous impact of social networks around the world. Thus, these latter are being frequently explored by these groups. Therefore, penetrating into these communities by analyzing both their interactions and their shared content is a considerably challenging task that serves to counter the online radicalization. For this purpose, in this paper, we propose a new recursive methodology for radical communities' detection on social networks based on the analysis and extraction of their violent used vocabulary. Our methodology consists mainly on extracting recursively a set of dangerous profiles from Twitter based on their suspicious interactions. Then, we analyze their textual shared data in order to construct a rich glossary containing their violent used vocabulary. This glossary is exploited and enriched to detect recursively radical communities. Finally, in order to evaluate the performance of our methodology, we resort to an expert who verifies both the list of the dangerous extracted profiles and the violent constructed glossary. The given results show the effectiveness and efficiency of our method. © 2020 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

The emergence of the TV channels number and the appearance of the Internet led to an exponential growth of the audiovisual documents. Several works were proposed in the literature for automatic video segmentation. However, the effectiveness of these works depends on video type. So, for a better quality of the segmentation, it is necessary to consider a priori knowledge concerning video types. Besides, TV channels use a set of rules during the production and the streaming of their programs such as the respect of the graphic charter, the recurring of studios. The exploitation of these rules, as a priori knowledge for the temporal and/or semantic structuring of the video documents, would be then advantageous for the quality of the indexing and the performance of the multimedia systems. In this context, we propose a method for the extraction and the formalization of descriptors based on a priori knowledge in order to conceive a video grammar model. This model will be used thereafter for a multitude of interesting applications like automatic structuring of TV streams or TV news segmentation. © 2010 IEEE.

Efficient and accurate early prediction of Alzheimer's disease (AD) based on the neuroimaging data has attracted interest from many researchers to prevent its progression. Deep learning networks have demonstrated an optimal ability to analyse large-scale multimodal neuroimaging for AD classification. The most widely used architecture of deep learning is the Convolution neural networks (CNN) that have shown great potential in AD detection. However CNN does not capture long range dependencies within the input image and does not ensure a good global feature extraction. Furthermore, increasing the receptive field of CNN by increasing the kernels sizes can cause a feature granularity loss. Another limitation is that CNN lacks a weighing mechanism of image features;the network doesn't focus on the relevant features within the image. Recently,vision transformer have shown an outstanding performance over the CNN and overcomes its main limitations. The vision transformer relies on the self-attention layers. The main drawbacks of this new technique is that it requires a huge amount of training data. In this paper, we combined the main strengths of these two architectures for AD classification. We proposed a new method based on the combination of the Cross ViT and Wide Residual Squeeze-and-Excitation Network. We acquired MRI data from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) and the Open Access Series of Imaging Studies (OASIS). We also proposed a new data augmentation based on the self attention progressive generative adversarial neural network to overcome the limitation of the data. Our proposed method achieved 99% classification accuracy and outperforms CNN models. © 2021 - IOS Press. All rights reserved.

The Web evolves to contents integrating increasingly rich and varied media reached using very diverse accessAA,A device. This environment very heterogeneous requires that multimedia information sent by the server is adapted to the precise conditions of their use. To answer this adaptation, a set of methods, languages and architectures were developed. This article is a contribution in this direction. In this work, we present a generator of the adaptable Web applications (AWA). An experimental study of the generator was undertaken on various devices of access (PC, PDA, mobile telephone.). The results obtained were evaluated by a study of the performances carried out to test the effectiveness of generator (rate of satisfaction of the users, profit in memory capacity, execution time, etc).

Hand localization and fingers features extraction: Application to digit recognition in sign language

We present in this paper an approach of hand gesture analysis that aims at recognizing a digit. The analysis is based on extracting a set of features from a hand image and then combining them by using an induction graph. The most important features we extract from each image are the fingers locations, their heights and the distance between each pair of fingers. Our approach consists of three steps: (i) Hand localization, (ii) fingers extraction and (iii) features identification and combination to digit recognition. Each input image is assumed to contain only one hand with black background, thus we apply a classifier based on one skin color to identify the skin pixels. In the finger extraction step, we attempt to remove all the hand components except the fingers, this process is based on the hand anatomy properties. The final step is based on histogram representation of the detected fingers which results in the features identification, which results in the digit recognition. The approach is invariant to scale, rotation and translation of the hand. Some experiments have been undertaken to show the effectivness of the proposed approach. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.

Contrarily to classical information retrieval systems, the systems that treat structured documents include the structural dimension through the document and query comparison. Thus, the retrieval of relevant results means the retrieval of document fragments that match the user need rather than the whole document. So, the structure notion should be taken into account during the retrieval process as well as during the reformulation. In this paper we propose an approach of query reformulation based on structural relevance feedback. We start from the original query on one hand and the fragments judged as relevant by the user on the other. Structure hints analysis allows us to identify nodes that match the user query and to rebuild it during the relevance feedback step. The main goal of this paper is to show the impact of structural hints in XML query optimization. Some experiments have been undertaken into a dataset provided by INEX to show the effectiveness of our proposals. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

In a Relevance Feedback process, the query can be reformulated basing on a matrix product of the RSV (Retrieval Status Value) vector and the documents-terms matrix. In such case, the challenge is to determine the most appropriate query that fulfils the retrieval process. In this paper, we present an automatic query reformulation approach based on a dual form of this product matrix which systematically generate as solution the reformulated query. This approach was spread to assure a learning strategy in order to rank the results of an information retrieval system. Some experiments have been undertaken into a dataset provided by TREC and the results show the effectiveness of our approach. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Considered as a rich source of information, social networking sites have been created lot of buzz because people share and discuss their opinions freely. Sentiment analysis is used for knowing voice or response of crowd for products, services, organizations, individuals, events, etc. Due to their importance, people opinions are analyzed in several domains including information retrieval, semantic web, text mining. These researches define new classification techniques to assign positive or negative opinion. Decisional systems like WeBhouse, known by their data-consuming must be enriched by this kind of pertinent opinions to give better help to decision makers. Nevertheless, cleaning and transformation processes recognized by several approaches as a key of WeBhouse development, don't deal with sentiment analysis. To fulfill this gap, we propose a new analysis algorithm which determines user's sentiment score of a post shared on the social network Facebook. This algorithm analyzes user's opinion depending on opinion terms and emoticons included in his comments. This algorithm is integrated in transformation process of ETL approach.
