The primary objective of this research work is to design a speedy and efficient methodology for latent fingerprint recognition that addresses the problem of long processing times inside the current approaches. The research here proves the potential for adopting one-shot and few-shot learning techniques in an accurate and computationally efficient form of latent fingerprint recognition. To this end, a lightweight architecture has been integrated with one-shot and few-shot learning techniques in the proposed methodology to recognize latent fingerprints. The research used the IIIT-D latent fingerprint dataset. The research, in particular, adopted the few-shot learning approach with the prototypical network trained on a pre-existing model, DenseNet121. With the few-shot learning of the prototypical network by using the pre-trained DenseNet121 model, the research produced an outstanding test accuracy at 91.66%. Both the F1 score and precision metrics are 93.32% and 93.93%, which reflects the good performance of the developed methodology in latent fingerprint recognition. This research introduces an effective approach for latent fingerprint recognition, properly balancing highly accurate results and computational expense. The proposed methodology enforces promising advances toward the precise identification and classification of latent fingerprints by incorporating one-shot and few-shot learning technique into a light-weight architecture. © 2025 IEEE.

The utilization of platforms for social networking for the purpose of communication and socializing has experienced a substantial increase. Nevertheless, with the ongoing expansion of social networks, Twitter has evolved as a crucial platform within the realm of social media, serving as a significant conduit for real-life interactions while also becoming a prominent channel for the dissemination of spam content. In light of the aforementioned issues, the task of identifying spam on social media platforms assumes a growing significance. The previous techniques are not able to fully utilize the properties inherent in high-dimensional data from social networks. A proposed method for effectively filtering spam data on social media involves the utilization of the Spotted Hyena and Personalized best Cuckoo Search Optimization Algorithm-based Deep Neuro Fuzzy Network. The suggested methodology demonstrates strong performance in handling high-dimensional data inside a real-world platform environment. This is achieved by employing a novel classifier that incorporates fuzzy temporal correlation and an auto-encoded Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory model. The proposed approach exhibits enhanced robustness, yielding optimal outcomes while concurrently mitigating issues related to computational complexity. Moreover, the suggested methodology shown enhanced efficacy in relation to key evaluation metrics such as precision, recall, and F-measure. These metrics were assessed using a continuous dataset consisting of 5,000 instances, resulting in respective values of 0.898, 0.913, and 0.899. This was accomplished through the execution of a series of tests. © 2023 IEEE.

In this work we present an approach for sentiment analysis which uses movie review for determining the polarity of the movie. We extract movie review from popular site which we use as our data set. To determine this We present a unique machine learning strategy for identifying phrases in movie reviews. and to determine the polarity for each of the sentence. The approaches are being used Bag-of-words model, defining adjectives and adverbs, managing negations, bounding word frequencies, and employing Word Net synonyms knowledge are all examples of text aspects that may be extracted. We examined how our classifier works for obtaining best polarity for Tamil movie reviews. © 2022 IEEE.

Treatment of critical size defects is quite challenging, often requiring autologous bone grafts for bone regeneration. A massive volume of autologous bone is essential during this process to fill the defect leading to donor site morbidity. Although 3D printed PCL scaffolds are frequently utilised for bone correction procedures, there have been reports of delayed PCL biodegradation and inadequate bone tissue formation. To enhance the regenerative potential, in this study, silk in the form of silk fibroin microfibers are reinforced into the PCL matrix to form the composite. Two silk variations were used: Antheraea mylitta and Bombyx mori, and has been proven to promote cell proliferation, adhesion, and osteogenic potential. This work creates 8 mm critical size defects in a rabbit calvaria model to test for the first time ever the ability of 3D printed PCL-silk scaffolds to regenerate bone tissue. Micro-CT imaging and histological examination performed 6 and 12 weeks after implantation revealed that the PCL-silk scaffold-augmented defects considerably outgrew their PCL-scaffold-only counterparts and the control group in terms of neo-bone formation. By 6 weeks, PCL-silk scaffolds had 47.4–50.3% of bone growth that was twice as high as PCL scaffolds alone (16.7–19.9%). Similarly, by 12 weeks, the PCL-silk group had four times more (80–87.3%) new bone tissue production than the PCL group (18.6–22.4%). The promise of silk fibroin-reinforced PCL biomaterial for pre-clinical and clinical studies for craniofacial reconstructive applications is thus supported by these results. In the era of the Internet's rapid expansion, social networking platforms have emerged as a crucial medium for individuals to convey their emotions and opinions to a global audience. Text, images, audio, and video are all ways for people to express themselves. Twitter, a popular social network, allows users to tweet about their daily feelings and opinions. These platforms generate vast amounts of unstructured data continuously, necessitating prompt processing to gain insights into human psychology. This processing is accomplished through sentiment analysis, a technique that assesses the emotional polarity within texts, determining whether the author holds a -Ve, +Ve, or neutral stance toward a subject, service, individual, or place. This article investigates the use of four well-known data mining classifiers, specifically the decision tree, K-nearest neighbor, naive Bayes, and support vector machine, to analyze tweet sentiments. Our findings reveal that the support vector machine consistently yields superior results compared to other algorithms, demonstrating an improvement of 4.01% in accuracy for two-class datasets and 8.05% for three-class datasets. © 2023 IEEE.

Manufacturing of customized implants for orbital fractures using 3D printing

An orbital fracture is a traumatic injury to the bone in the eye socket. These fractures modify the orbital bone dimensions and the functioning of the intraorbital contents. In this study, a surgical method that includes positioning, aligning and fixing implants to restore orbital fractures was adapted. Notably, it is difficult to achieve an original three-dimensional orbital shape through the process of forming and cutting implants;however, this problem was solved by creating customized implants using computed tomography (CT) images of the patient. The objective of this work is to reconstruct the damaged orbital floor defects by means of a 3D printed implant and restore the orbital floor to its original shape. A case study of an orbital fracture has been included in this study. CT images were used to create a computer-aided design (CAD) model of orbital floor implants, which were designed to maintain orbital floor symmetry from right to left and vice versa. Furthermore, the designed implants were manufactured through a material extrusion process with biocompatible material. The application of the material extrusion process with biocompatible material resulted in the fabrication of implants at a minimal cost. Therefore, the customized models used in the patient's intra-operation can minimize the operational time and maximize surgical safety. © 2020 Elsevier B.V.

Conventional drug delivery system provides an immediate release of drug which does not control the release of the drug and does not maintain effective concentration at target site for a longer period of time. Hence to avoid the shortcomings there is development of various controlled drug delivery systems. Among these osmotic drug delivery system (ODDS) utilizes the principle of osmotic pressure and delivers drug dose in an optimized manner to maintain drug concentration within the therapeutic window and minimizes toxic effects. ODDS releases drug at a controlled rate that is independent of the pH and thermodynamics of dissolution medium. The release of drug from ODDS follows zero order kinetics. The release of drug from osmotic system depends upon various formulation factors such as solubility, osmotic pressure of the core components, size of the delivery orifice and nature of the rate controlling membrane. Controlled porosity osmotic pump (CPOP) contains drug, osmogens, excipients in core and a coating of semipermeable membrane with water soluble additives. In CPOP water soluble additives dissolve after coming in contact with water, resulting in an in situ formation of a microporous membrane. The present study gives an idea about osmosis, CPOP, components of CPOP and its evaluation.
