The cooperative transmission schemes based on the amplify and forward（AF） mode have the defect of low transmission rate and the exiting full-rate cooperative transmission schemes based on space-time code design have the defect of high detection ***,this paper makes the best of linear constellation precoding（LCP） technique and cyclic delay diversity（CDD） technique,and adopts the nonorthogonal amplify and forward（NAF） mode,finally proposes a new full-rate wireless cooperative transmission scheme based on space-time-frequency code *** with the cooperative transmission schemes that only pursue the transmission rate or the BER performance,this new scheme can apply to multi-relay scenario,and has the advantages of simple structure,low signal detection complexity that does not increases with the number of relay *** of above makes the real-time data transmission service of high quality come to be possible.

Despite numerous efforts on blur measurement of partially blurred images, there still lacks an effective blur measure that is both pixel-wise and locally sharp consistent. The paper proposes a novel method with two contributions to overcome this limitation: 1) A new pixel-based blur metric, Multi-resolution Singular Value (MSV), which leverages the average singular value of high frequency bands to measure the blur of each pixel, and 2) a locally continuous strategy, maximum-likelihood estimation (MLE) based refinement, that ensures local continuity by imposing the local sharp consistency on pixel blur in a local correcting process. Experimental results show that our method is effective to smoothly measure the partially blurred images without local discontinuity.

In order to accomplish tracking of moving objects requirements, and overcome the defect of occlusion in the process of tracking moving object, this paper presents a method which uses a combination of MeanShift and Kalman filter algorithm. MeanShift object tracking algorithm uses a histogram to describe the color characteristics of an object, and search the location of an image region that the color histogram is closest to the histogram of the object. Histogram similarity is defined in terms of the Bhattacharya coefficient. When the moving object is a large area blocked, the future state of moving object is estimated by Kalman filter. Experimental results verify that the proposed algorithm achieves efficient tracking of moving objects under the confusing situations. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

EPAS: Efficient privacy-preserving authentication scheme for VANETs-based emergency communication

Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) can provide participants with security services and entertainment information during the driving. To guarantee correct and smooth operations of VANETs, it is necessary to achieve efficient authentication with user privacy preserving. Current solutions either cannot satisfy privacy requirements, or are not efficient in message verification. Moreover, all the existing schemes are RSU-based. We, for the first time, apply VANETs to emergency communication during disaster rescue, and effective authentication scheme is proposed in accordance with the actual environment, where there is no fixed road-side unit (RSU). In this paper, we present an efficient identity based signature scheme EPAS, which satisfies conditional privacy requirements through software solution. In aspect of efficiency, both lightweight signature and batch verification are employed to provide effective authentication. Extensive theoretical and experimental analyses demonstrate the security and efficiency of EPAS in terms of privacy-preserving and low authentication delay. © 2013 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.

Video summarization provides condensed and succinct representations of the content of a video stream. A static storyboard summarization approach based on robust low-rank subspace segmentation is proposed in this paper. Firstly, video frames are represented as multi-dimensional vectors, and then embedded into a group of affine subspaces using low-rank representation according to the content similarity of the frames in the same subspace. Secondly, a series of subspaces are segmented based on the Normalized Cuts algorithm. The video summary is finally generated by choosing key frames from the significant subspaces and ranking these key frames in temporal order. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed summarization algorithm can produce crucial key frames and effectively reduce the visual content redundancy in summary comparing with the conventional approaches. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2013.

A novel and efficient speckle noise reduction algorithm based on wavelet transform by cycle spinning for removing speckle of unknown variance and minimizing the effect of pseudo-Gibbs phenomena from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images is proposed. Therefore, we show that the sub-band decompositions of logarithmically transformed SAR images. Then, we process and reconstruct multi-resolution wavelet coefficients by wavelet-threshold using cycle spinning, a technique estimating the true images as the linear average of individual estimates derived from wavelet thresholded translated versions of the noise images. Experimental results show that the proposed de-noising algorithm is possible to achieve an excellent balance between suppresses speckle effectively and weaken as many image Gibbs phenomena as possible. Quantitative and qualitative comparisons of the results obtained by the new method with the results achieved from the other speckle noise reduction techniques demonstrate its higher performance for speckle reduction in SAR images. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Independent Component Analysis(ICA)and Common Spatial Patterns(CSP)are commonly used to find spatial filters for classification of electroencephalogram(EEG)signals in motor *** ICA needs physiological knowledge about the potential changes of task-related EEG signals to select filters manually,this paper proposes to acquire filter information from the spatial filters constructed by CSP,then the improved ICA is compared with CSP from several aspects on BCI competition III dataset IVa as well as dataset of left and right hand motor imagery from our independent *** results suggest the proposed ICA has good classification performance and is better on robustness and flexibility,while CSP is simpler and more suitable for multi-channel EEG.

Beijing has experienced a rapid urban sprawl over the past three decades, along with accelerated socio-economic development. This study investigated the change patterns and figured out the driving forces of urban expansion in the study area. To obtain urban class, decision tree classification techniques were used to identify the land cover types using four scenes of Landsat images from four periods of 1978-era, 1992-era, 2000-era and 2010-era. Then, the urban areas were identified by excluding water, agriculture, forest, grassland and bare land. The analysis results showed that: 1) urban construction land had been expanded very quickly and the urban area is mainly in the south-central part of the municipality;2) the urban area increased by 96284.97 ha and the ratio was 5.88%;and 3) population growth, economic development, urban construction and industrial structure adjustment could explain the expansion. These analysis results can provide significant information on the monitoring and management of sustainable urban development.

Membrane algorithms are a new class of heuristic algorithms, which attempt to incorporate some components of membrane computing models (also called P systems) for designing efficient optimization algorithms, such as the structure of P systems, the way of communication between cells, etc. Membrane algorithms are a kind of parallel methods, where many operations can be performed in parallel. Although the importance of the parallelism of such algorithms is recognized, membrane algorithms were often implemented on the serial computing device Central processing Unit (CPU), which makes the algorithms cannot work in a more efficient way. In this work, we consider the implementation of membrane algorithms on the parallel computing device Graphics processing Unit (GPU). Under such implementation, all cells of membrane algorithms can work simultaneously. Experiment results on two classical intractable problems, point set matching problem and TSP, show that GPU implementation of membrane algorithms is much more efficient than CPU implementation in terms of runtime, especially for solving the problems with a high complexity.
