Multisensor information plays an important pole in the target recognition and other application fields. Fusion performance is tightly depended on the fusion level selectes and the approach used. Feature level fusion is a potential and difficult fusion level. Bayesian fusion method is an important theory in feature level. A new method is presented to fuse infrared images and recognize object in the paper. Firstly,Bayesian principles, fusion mode and recognition decision function are described. Then, aiming at the features of mid-wave infrared image and long-wave infrared image, we use Bayesian probability to fuse them. Last, recognize target and background obtained with training and test pattern vectors. The experiment results show stability and feasibility of the fusion recognition using Bayesian decision theory in infrared image.

As the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system work environment is a high-temperature environment for a long time, it is difficult to obtain the SOFC stack internal state change directly. When the fault occurs, it is difficult to determine where the fault occurs. Moreover, the existing literature ignores the impact of faults, which creates many problems for SOFC system control. Therefore, a state observer-based fault detection method, which is used to detect the input flow sensor fault and the fuel input fault, is proposed. Their advantage is that they do not need data processing. To realize the fault detection, the observer is used to track the changes of SOFC stack chamber temperature. To obtain the observer estimation parameter, an approach from the actual stack structure parameters is employed to approximate the observer parameters. The results show the proposed fault detect method can judge fuel input fault type quickly and shield the disturbances signals from the sensor effectively. In this study we modified the local binary pattern operator (LBP) to obtain the robust invariant texture patterns for image texture classification. The modified method will be able to calculate patterns which are invariant for translation, scaling, rotation and reflection. Therefore, the modified LBP is called R-LBP. Although many variation of LBP have been proposed, most of them cannot detect and recognize the patterns of reflection. Both clockwise and counter clockwise coding is used in the proposed R-LBP operator in order to derive a minimum code to representing the pattern. Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective in determining the invariant patterns for image texture classification. © 2015 ACM.

A new path planning method for UAV in static workspace is presented. The method can find a nearly optimal path in short time which satisfies the UAV kinematic constraints. The method makes use of the skeletons to construct the graph of the planning space considering the configuration of the obstacles and utilizes the graph to find a shortest collision-free path, and a novel technique is utilized to convert the free path into a feasible path. The method can be applied to different applications and easy to be implemented. Experimental results showed that the path planning can be done in a fraction of second on a contemporary workstation (2-3 seconds) under the condition of satisfying the kinematic constraints. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Predicting essential proteins is indispensable for understanding the minimal requirements of cellular survival and development. In recent years, many methods combined with the topological features of PPI networks have been proposed. However, most of these approaches ignored the intrinsic characteristics of biological attributes. This paper integrates Gene expression data, Subcellular localization and PPI networks to identify essential proteins, named GSP. We use local average connectivity and edge clustering coefficient unite with gene expression data to measure centralities of nodes. Compared with non-essential proteins, essential proteins appear more frequently in some subcellular localizations such as Nucleus and considering that different compartments play different roles, thus we integrate subcellular localization information to identify essential proteins. The computational experiment results on the yeast PPI networks show that the proposed method GSP outperforms other state-of-art methods including DC, EC, IC, SC, NC, LAC, PeC, WDC and UDoNC. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2017.

Generating Natural Language adversarial examples through an improved beam search algorithm

The research of adversarial attacks in the text domain attracts many interests in the last few years, and many methods with a high attack success rate have been proposed. However, these attack methods are inefficient as they require lots of queries for the victim model when crafting text adversarial examples. In this paper, a novel attack model is proposed, its attack success rate surpasses the benchmark attack methods, but more importantly, its attack efficiency is much higher than the benchmark attack methods. The novel method is empirically evaluated by attacking WordCNN, LSTM, BiLSTM, and BERT on four benchmark datasets. For instance, it achieves a 100% attack success rate higher than the state-of-the-art method when attacking BERT and BiLSTM on IMDB, but the number of queries for the victim models only is 1/4 and 1/6.5 of the state-of-the-art method, respectively. Also, further experiments show the novel method has a good transferability on the generated adversarial examples. © 2021, CC BY.

Microgrids subjected to secondary cooperative control encounter significant challenges, including operational constraints and clock drifts, adversely affecting their stability and efficiency. This paper provides conditions that assure optimal microgrid performance in both transient and steady-state scenarios, focusing on the effects of clock drifts and fluctuations in load. Furthermore, we introduce a novel approach for designing secondary control parameters, specifically engineered to minimize steady-state discrepancies attributable to clock drifts while ensuring adherence to standards for transient operations. Comprehensive experimental validations corroborate the effectiveness of our proposed solutions. © 2024 IEEE.

As a popular evolutionary algorithm, artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm has been successfully applied into the threshold-based image segmentation problem. Based on our analysis, we find that the Otsu segmentation function is separable which means each variable is independent. Due to its one-dimensional search strategy and relative power global but poorer local search abilities, ABC could find an acceptable but not precise segmentation results. For making more precise search and further enhancing the achievements on image segmentation, we propose an Otsu segmentation method based on a new ABC algorithm with an improved scout bee strategy. Different from the traditional scout bee strategy, we use a local search strategy when a bee stagnates for a defined value. The experimental results on Berkeley segmentation database demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm. © 2020, Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH. All rights reserved.

Uncalibrated Path Planning in the image Space for the Fixed Camera Configuration

image-based visual servoing can be used to efficiently control the motion of robot manipulators. When the initial and the desired configurations are distant, however, as pointed out by many researchers, such a control approach can suffer from the convergence and stability problems due to its local properties. By specifying adequate image feature trajectories to be followed in the image, we can take advantage of the local convergence and stability of image-based visual servoing to avoid these problems. Hence, path planning in the image space has been an active research topic in robotics in recent years. However, almost all of the related results are established for the case of camera-in-hand configuration. In this paper, we propose an uncalibrated visual path planning algorithm for the case of fixed-camera configuration. This algorithm computes the trajectories of image features directly in the projective space such that they are compatible with rigid body motion. By decomposing the projective representations of the rotation and the translation into their respective canonical forms, we can easily interpolate their paths in the projective space. Then, the trajectories of image features in the image plane can be generated via projective paths. In this way, the knowledge of feature point structures and camera intrinsic parameters are not required. To validate the feasibility and performance of the proposed algorithm, simulation results based on the puma560 robot manipulator are given in this paper.
