Due to its high degree of customization, DNA origami provides a versatile platform with which to engineer nanoscale structures and devices. Reconfigurable nanodevices driven by DNA strand displacement accomplish the task of transition between different conformations, endowing DNA origami with application values. Herein, we propose a strategy to regulate the conformation of DNA origami using the polymerase-triggered DNA strand displacement (PTSD) reaction. We design a book-shaped DNA origami structure consisting of four pages connected into a cuboid shape. The PTSD reactions initiated by different primer strands selectively remove the connecting strand, transforming the nano book into a two-page or a four-page conformation. We utilize three primer strands to remove thirty-five connecting strands and construct three conformations of the identical DNA origami, illustrating that the PTSD reaction is an effective tool for the reconfiguration of DNA origami. The statistical results of TEM images prove the effectiveness of the proposed method. Our work on the development of PTSD-driven reconfigurable nanostructure will offer a new way to create intelligent materials for advanced nanotechnology applications. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Robust Semi-global Coordinated Tracking of Saturated Networked Systems

This paper focuses on the robust semi-global coordinated tracking of general linear systems subject to input saturation together with input additive disturbance and dead zone. A fully distributed algorithm which relating only with the number of the following agents and the relative state information of its neighbors is first constructed, and then sufficient conditions guaranteeing the robust semi-global consensus tracking and the robust semi-global swarm tracking are provided, respectively, on the basis of the low-and-high feedback technique. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results. © 2017

Target detection and location in infrared clutter background is very important to infrared search and track system. Especially for small target detection in infrared image in background of sea and sky, there are no geometric and structure character to use. When targets such as ship and naval vessel sailing at long distance, they always appear around the sea-level line, and it is mixed with cloud and sea-wave clutter. It is difficult to segment and locate precisely. Background suppression based-on wavelet transformation is proposed in the paper. Wavelet decomposition makes it possible to analyze a signal both in time and frequency domains. In the paper infrared sea and key background images are processed. For their SNR is low and background is complex, using wavelet transformation decomposes an original image and extract approximate feature to reconstruct an image, which mainly includes background information. A new image will be obtained using background image subtracted from original image. There are mainly target and noise points left in the new image. By setting proper threshold, the target can be detected perfectly. At last, experiment results are given and show the method is practical. © 2005 IEEE.

Reaching Non-Negative Edge Consensus of Networked Dynamical Systems

In this paper, the problem of non-negative edge consensus of undirected networked linear time-invariant systems is addressed by associating each edge of the network with a state variable, for which a distributed algorithm is constructed. Sufficient conditions referring only to the number of edges are derived for non-negative edge consensus of the networked systems. Subsequently, the linear programming method and a low-gain feedback technique are introduced to simplify the design of the feedback gain matrix for achieving the non-negative edge consensus. It is found that the low-gain feedback technique has a good effect on the non-negative edge consensus of the networked systems subject to input saturation. Numerical simulations are presented to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

This paper considers the problem that the virtual mobile operator (VMO) buys services from the wireless service provider (WSP) to serve its users. When faced with poor indoor coverage or at the edge of marcocell, the WSP would ask nearby femto base stations (FBSs) to help serve the VMO. We focus on the interesting questions when the WSP prefers to ask help from FBSs and how WSP, VMO and FBSs adjust their strategies to maximize their profits. A two-stage Stackelberg game is built for the situation when the WSP serve the VMO by itself and a four-stage Stackelberg game is considered when the WSP rents FBSs by offering spectrum bands to FBSs. We firstly define the utility functions of VMO, WSP and FBSs to reflect their satisfaction and cost in participating into the game and then give the analysis based on the backward induction method. Meanwhile, the competition among FBSs when the WSP allocates spectrum bands for FBSs' help is formulated as a non-cooperative spectrum competition game (NSCG) and the existence and uniqueness of the Nash equilibrium in NSCG is proved. Simulation results of the two service modes show the WSP can obtain more profits through renting FBSs in poor coverage areas. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

In the task of path planning, the unmanned surface vessels (USV) are required to reach the destination while avoiding obstacle. However, it is difficult for USV to prioritize the two sub-target tasks of destination arrival and obstacle avoidance in a complex dynamic environment using traditional path planning methods. Based on the above considerations, a path planning method for USVs based on strategy integration is proposed. Firstly, the path planning scenario containing dynamic obstacles and two sub-target scenarios are set up. In order to strengthen its ability to reach the destination and avoid dynamic obstacles, the dynamic obstacles and the destination are removed separately in the two sub-target scenarios. Furthermore, the model for strategy selection is trained on action decisions in sub-target scenarios through double deep Q-Network with prioritized experience replay. Finally, a framework for strategy integration is designed to optimize strategy selection for USV. The simulation results show that the proposed method achieves a good overall performance and a higher path planning success rate than the traditional path planning method. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Social media is a platform for people to share their lives and interact with others. image sharing is an integral component. Privacy information will inevitably be compromised during the process of sharing whole photos. Sometimes, it is not even caused by the person who shares the image but the third party who forwards the image. In the majority of cases, we do not attempt to protect the entirety of the media;rather, we seek to protect the most crucial portion, whether it is the background or specific objects, which decreasing superfluous cryptography procedures. Unfortunately, current research on such field is extremely rare. In this research, we established a novel pixel-level image encryption technique relying on Panoptic FCN panoramic segmentation and chaos for client-intended images on social media sites. Our suggested technology is capable of automated picture encryption on either the whole images or user-selected areas, whether they are rectangular or irregular, which is suited for all region of interest (ROI) encryption. Relying on a novel coupled chaotic map, this universal new encryption method flattens the array of the image ROI into a series of pixels. The module of Panoptic FCN can be replaced by any other panoptic segmentation models which are stronger in performance. Statistical and cryptographic evaluations demonstrate that our technique preserves the high efficiency for practical applications. © 2023 SPIE. All rights reserved.

Today, the world economy is in the stage of rapid development, followed by the rising quantity, the decreasing moisture content, and the increasing heat value of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). Since waste incineration has the advantages of excellent volume reduction effect, high resource utilization efficiency, and less secondary pollution to the environment, waste incineration disposal technology has received extensive attention worldwide. With the continuous increase of the urban population, the amount of sewage sludge is growing year by year. The process of the sludge incineration system is highly complicated, and the cost of construction and operation is high. The waste incinerator can process not only MSW but also sewage sludge. Therefore, the co-incineration of sewage sludge with MSW in the existing waste incinerator is a safe and effective way to dispose of sewage sludge. In this paper, the simulation results of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are analyzed for medium-scale and large-scale waste incinerators, characterized by high moisture content, high ash content, low heat value of sewage sludge, and incomplete combustion and high pollutant emissions in waste incinerators. With FLIC-Fluent coupled simulation method, the critical information such as temperature field, velocity field, concentration field of principal components, and the pollutant emissions can be predicted. Based on the CFD simulation results, the performance and structure of waste incinerators can be optimized, and the new products can be designed and developed. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. Pneumatic Muscle (PM) has the advantages of cheapness, light weight, compliance, safe and high power/weight. It is suitable for rehabilitation engineering. To minimize the number of PM for driving a single joint of rehabilitation, a new PM-TS actuator comprising a PM and a Torsion Spring (TS) is proposed. Unlike the traditional agonist/antagonist PM actuator, the PM is arranged in appropriate place as agonist and the torsion spring provides opposing torque as antagonist in the proposed actuator. The dynamic model of a 1-DOF (Degree of Freedom) rehabilitation robotic arm is derived considering the PM-TS actuator. To realize high accurate trajectory tracking control of the robotic arm, an Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm based Auto-Disturbance Rejection control (ADRC) is proposed, where ABC is employed to optimize the control parameters of ADRC. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of PM-TS actuator, and verify that the ABC based ADRC has satisfactory performance. © 2012 Huazhong Univ of Sci & Tec.
