DNA origami is one of the powerful techniques that utilize DNA as building blocks to synthesize nanostructures. Traditionally, through introducing different numbers of insertions and deletions of base pairs in DNA helices, the in-plane bending angle of curved DNA structures could be roughly tuned. Here, we explored a strategy that used the position patterns of nicks in staple strands to tune the geometric conformation of curved DNA origami structures, including in-plane bending, out-of-plane bending, and twisting angles. When the structure adopted different patterns of nicks positions, great difference appeared in the geometric properties. Further, by combining subunits of different nicks position patterns, the bending and twisting of the combined structure was effectively tuned. The strategy increases the design accuracy of curved DNA origami structures and expands the toolbox for designing DNA structures. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

image interpolation has been widely used and studied in the fields of image *** the different complexities along the different directions,a novel image interpolation method based on gradient analysis is presented in this ***,for each point that need to be interpolated,it's the gradient values along the horizontal and vertical directions are estimated ***,different interpolation methods are carried out along these two directions according to the gradient values,that is a higher order interpolation method is applied if the gradient value is greater than certain threshold;otherwise,a lower order interpolation method is *** method gives an attention to the precision and complexity of interpolation procedure. Experimental results show that the proposed method is feasible and promising.

Gravel image Segmentation in Noisy Background Based on Partial Entropy Method

Because of wide variation in gray levels and particle dimensions and the presence of many small gravel objects in the background, as well as corrupting the image by noise, it is difficult o segment gravel objects. In this paper, we develop a partial entropy method and succeed to realize gravel objects segmentation. We give entropy principles and fur calculation methods. Moreover, we use minimum entropy error automaticly to select a threshold to segment image. We introduce the filter method using mathematical morphology. The segment experiments are performed by using different window dimensions for a group of gravel image and demonstrates that this method has high segmentation rate and low noise sensitivity.

In this paper, we develop a novel application of independent component analysis (ICA) based auto-regression forecasting model(ICAARF). The method can noninvasively, continuously and conveniently derive ambulatory blood pressure (ABP) from the radial artery pressure waveform (RAPWF). To eliminate the effect of correlative factors in measurement, the ICA method is used to decomposite the raw signal and extract the independent component affected by blood pressure (BP). Based on the spectrum density of independent component, an auto-regression forecasting model is set up to derive BP. Experimental results show an excellent correlation and agreement with the BP measured by Omron electronic BP monitor (Type: HEM-7012). If the ICA-ARF is used, the the error can be reduced from 7.4mmHg to 2.55mmHg. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

The operation of splicing on words was introduced by Tom Head while proposing a theoretical model of DNA recombination. Subsequent investigations on splicing on linear and circular strings of symbols have resulted in a number of theoretical properties. A different kind of splicing on two words, referred to as flat splicing, has been considered recently. This operation is extended to flat splicing on picture arrays, thus defining a new model of generation of digitized pictures, which is called as array flat splicing system (AFS). Results on the generative power of AFS in comparison with certain well-known picture array defining models and certain non-closure results are obtained. Large-scale multiobjective optimization problems (LSMOPs) exist widely in real-world applications, and they are challenging for existing evolutionary algorithms due to their massive volume of search space. Despite that a number of large-scale multiobjective evolutionary algorithms (LSmoeAs) have been proposed in recent years, their effectiveness in solving LSMOPs remains unsatisfactory. One main reason is that most existing LSmoeAs may fail to balance convergence enhancement and diversity maintenance, especially for solving real-world problems. To address this issue, we propose to use a hybridized LSmoeA with adaptive operator selection (AOS) to handle real-world LSMOPs. Specifically, the proposed hybridized LSmoeA with AOS (AOS-LSmoeA) includes multiple different offspring generation and environmental selection strategies extracted from some existing LSmoeAs. Then it uses the AOS to adaptively determine the application rates of different offspring generation and environmental selection operators in an online manner. The proposed approach is capable of taking advantage of existing LSmoeAs, and the AOS enables the algorithm to choose suitable operators for solving different LSMOPs. In this study, the proposed algorithm is expected to solve the voltage transformer ratio error estimation (TREE) problems effectively. Experimental results show that AOS-LSmoeA achieves significant performance improvement due to the hybridization of different operators and the adoption of AOS method. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Mating restriction strategies are capable of restricting the distribution of parent solutions for effective offspring generation in evolutionary algorithms (EAs). Studies have shown the importance of these strategies in improving the performance of EAs for multiobjective optimization. Our previous study proposed a specific manifold learning inspired mating restriction (MLMR) strategy. It has shown promising capability of solving multiobjective optimization problems (MOPs) with complicated Pareto set shapes. However, the effect of mating restriction strategies in solving constrained MOPs is yet to be well studied. Here, we investigate the effectiveness of MLMR for solving constrained MOPs. The MLMR strategy is embedded into some representative multiobjective EAs and tested on various benchmark constrained MOPs. Experimental results indicate the encouraging performance of MLMR in constrained multiobjective optimization. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Platoon control of autonomous industrial vehicles contributes to improving the safety and reliability of cargo transportation in complex industrial scenarios, increasing traffic efficiency and saving energy. The platoon control of autonomous heavy-load industrial vehicles is much harder, as the high robustness requirements, low hardware ability and complex un-structural environments. This paper considers the platoon control task from the view-point of practical industrial applications. Firstly, the longitudinal dynamic model of the heavy-load industrial vehicle is transferred into a first-order damping acceleration response model by introducing the low-level feedback linearization control and compensations. Secondly, the synchronization control concept is introduced and a fully distributed control law is presented, which only requires the coupling information of the two nearest neighbors. In particular, in order to ensure the practical applicability, the information processing delays, data samplings and external control disturbances are explicitly modelled and the global stability analysis approach is presented. Finally, we provide real experiments using full-scale industrial heavy-load vehicles to demonstrate our effectiveness and robustness. © 2022 IEEE.

Constrained multiobjective optimization problems (CMOPs) are prevalent in various real-world applications, presenting a formidable challenge to existing evolutionary algorithms when faced with intricate constraints. When solving CMOPs, a crucial concern is achieving a balance between convergence, diversity, and feasibility. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a two-archive-based constrained multiobjective competitive swarm optimizer. The algorithm preserves two collaborative and complementary archives to improve population convergence and feasibility. By implementing a competitive particle swarm mechanism, offspring solutions are generated by drawing upon solutions from both archives, thus capitalizing on their synergistic effect and exceptional information. An adaptive parameter is also used to adjust the bias in choosing the winner in the paired competition during the evolution. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in handling constrained multiobjective optimization problems. © 2023 IEEE.
