This paper deals with an approach to the automatic construction and optimization of the knowledge mesh (KM) based on the user's function requirements. Once a KM multiple set operation expression is obtained, a new KM can be inferred from the expression by the developed KM-based inference engine and transformed into its corresponding KMS (knowledgeable manufacturing system) software automatically by the developed automatic program construction software so as to realize the self-reconfiguration of the KMS. Thus, the automatic construction and optimization of a KM multiple set operation expression is equivalent to the automatic construction and optimization of its corresponding KM and KMS software. To explore the automatic construction and optimization of the new KM by the user's function requirements, an automatic construction procedure of a KM aiming at the user's maximum function-satisfaction is proposed. Firstly, the fuzzy function-satisfaction degree relationships of the users' requirements for the KM functions are defined, and so are the multiple fuzzy function-satisfaction degrees of the relationships. Secondly, operations (union, intersection and minus) on both fuzzy and multiple fuzzy function-satisfaction degrees are proposed and clarified, along with the proof that there exists a one-to-one mapping between the KM multiple set operation expression and the KM-function-satisfaction degree expression. Then, the optimization model of the KM multiple set operation expression is constructed and proved to be very NP-hard. And finally, the KM multiple set operation expression is optimized by the hybrid genetic-tabu algorithm, with the steps of the KM's automatic construction presented in detail as well. Based upon the above, the KM's automatic construction and optimization are illustrated by an actual KM example which corresponds to the management information system (MIS) software used in a vehicle body plant. The proposed approach proves to be very effective. © 2011

This paper carried out the absorbance experiments on different pesticide formulations and mixed pesticide concentration sensor design for online mixing system based on the precision spray requirements. There are many different pesticide formorlations, among which wettable powder (WP) and emulsifiable concentrates (EC) are most widely used ones in China. The optical methods were chosen for quick and precise measurement based on the physical characteristics of commonly used pesticide formulations and generally low spraying concentrations. Firstly we carried out monochromatic light absorbance experiments to study the optical properties of different pesticide formulations. We prepared the solutions with different possible spraying concentrations of WP and EC of several commonly used pesticdes and used UV-Vis spectrophotometer to measur the absorbance of the prepared solutions. The experiment results show that: in the UV-visible wavelength range, the absorbances of the suspension or emulsion of WP or EC generally decrease with increasing optical wavelength, but the solution concentration and the absorbance value is not proportional. In the 600-800nm range the absorbances have good differentiation. In order to select the appropriate absorbance range of wavelengths and considering the available of laser diode, the monochromatic light with wavelength of 650nm was chosen as the source light. Then we carried out the preliminary design of mixed pesticide concentration sensor. The sensor is composed of monochromatic light source module, the light detection circuit and signal processing module. The structure of the sensor was also preliminarily designed.

Till now, most lawn is still irrigated manually or timely. That means lack of proper irrigation strategy and information management ability. However, irrational irrigation method will not only lead to unhealthy growth of lawn, but also waste of water. A new idea for lawn intelligent remote irrigation was put forward. The smart sprinkler strategy was created by researching the characters of lawn, such as water demand, heat resistance and diseases law. And the embeded control system can apply the strategy to irrigate intelligently. Tying the urban lawn features, the system was designed to be driven by solar, which makes it an energy self-sufficiency system. What's more, the sprinkler system gains the CAN bus-based network management function, which simplify the user's contol and management. Finally, the experimental results show that the system has the advantages of good effect, low cost, high reliability, easy maintenance, etc. And it will meet the demand of energy saving and environmental protection.

Bottleneck Prediction Method Based on Improved Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) in Semiconductor Manufacturing System

Semiconductor manufacturing (SM) system is one of the most complicated hybrid processes involved continuously variable dynamical systems and discrete event dynamical systems. The optimization and scheduling of semiconductor fabrication has long been a hot research direction in automation. Bottleneck is the key factor to a SM system, which seriously influences the throughput rate, cycle time, time-delivery rate, etc. Efficient prediction for the bottleneck of a SM system provides the best support for the consequent scheduling. Because categorical data (product types, releasing strategies) and numerical data (work in process, processing time, utilization rate, buffer length, etc.) have significant effect on bottleneck, an improved adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) was adopted in this study to predict bottleneck since conventional neural network-based methods accommodate only numerical inputs. In this improved ANFIS, the contribution of categorical inputs to firing strength is reflected through a transformation matrix. In order to tackle high-dimensional inputs, reduce the number of fuzzy rules and obtain high prediction accuracy, a fuzzy c-means method combining binary tree linear division method was applied to identify the initial structure of fuzzy inference system. According to the experimental results, the main-bottleneck and sub-bottleneck of SM system can be predicted accurately with the proposed method.

This paper focuses on the problem of fuzzy control for a class of continuous-time T-S fuzzy systems. New methods of stabilization design and H-infinity control are derived based on a relaxed approach in which both fuzzy Lyapunov functions and staircase membership functions are used. Through the staircase membership functions approx- imating the continuous membership functions of the given fuzzy model, the membership functions can be brought into the design conditions of fuzzy systems, thereby significantly reducing the conservativeness in the recent fuzzy controller design methods. Unlike some previous fuzzy Lyapunov function approaches reported in the literatures, the proposed design techniques of stabilization and H-infinity control do not depend on the time-derivative of the membership functions that may be pointed out as the main source of conservatism when considering fuzzy Lyapunov functions analysis. Moreover, conditions for the solvability of the controller design given here are written in the form of linear matrix inequalities, but not bilinear matrix inequalities, which are easier to be solved by convex optimization techniques. Simulation examples are given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed approaches.

Energy Efficient Data Collection in Hierarchical Wireless Sensor Networks

The majority of the energy consumption by the sensors is the energy requirement for data transmission in Wireless Sensor Networks （WSNs）. Therefore, introducing mobile collectors to collect data instead of nmlti-hop data relay is essential. However, for rmny proposed data gathering ap-proaches, long data deNNy is the train problenm. Hence, the problem of how to decrease the energy consumption and the data deNNy needs to be solved. In this paper, a low deNNy data collection mechanism using multiple mobile collectors is pro- posed. First, a self-organization clustering algorithm is designed. Second, sensor nodes are organized into three-level clusters. Then a collection strategy based on the hierarchical structure is proposed, which includes two rules to dispatch mobile collec- tors rationally. Simulation results show that the proposed mechanism is superior to other existing approaches in terms of the reduction in energy ex-penditure and the decrease in data deNNy.

Deadlock is an undesired situation in a highly automated system due to the fact that no system can allow its occurrence which may produce some unnecessary economic losses or serious consequences. There are three mathematical tools to handle deadlocks in resource allocation systems: graph theory, finite state machine, and Petri net. Due to its inherent characteristics, Petri nets are widely applied to manufacturing systems. Generally, these existing deadlock methods are classified into three strategies: deadlock detection and recovery, deadlock avoidance, and deadlock prevention. In this paper, a review of deadlock prevention policies and merits and drawbacks of these policies are presented. Then it gives the possible trend of the research in the future.

A novel HHT and nonlinear teager energy operator based feature for speech emotion recognition

In traditional speech emotion recognition researches, speech is modeled as linear and short-term stationary signal, with Fourier analysis used as the foundation of speech signal processing and feature extraction. To overcome this shortage, in this paper the Hilbert-Huang transform, which works well for non-stationary and nonlinear data, is used for speech signal processing, and combined with the nonlinear Teager energy operator to put forward a novel spectral feature: Hilbert-Teager Subband Energy Cepstral Coefficients, HT-SECC. With Gaussian mixture model used for classification, the experimental results on Berlin emotional speech corpus show that the HT-SECC feature outperforms traditional Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients and prosodic features. © 2012 Praise Worthy Prize S.r.l. - All rights reserved.

Robust stability analysis for uncertain neutral control systems with time-varying delays

To better handle the problem on robust stability for neutral control systems, in which time-varying delay was involved, a stability criterion with less conservatism was put forward. Firstly, a novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional was constructed based on the uncertain neutral control system model. The generalized convex combination and integral inequality techniques were altogether employed, which can help to estimate the derivative of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and effectively extend the application area of the results. Secondly, by taking the lower and upper bounds of time-delays and their derivatives, a criterion on asymptotical and robust stability were presented in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI), which can be easily checked by resorting to LMI in Matlab Toolbox. Finally, through one numerical example the criterion was compared with relative ones. The smaller delay upper bound was obtained by the criteria, which demonstrates that our stability criterion can reduce the conservatism more efficiently than those earlier ones.

Improved Rao-Blackwellized particle filter for simultaneous robot localization and person-tracking with single mobile sensor

A probabilistic algorithm is proposed for the problem of simultaneous robot localization and peopletracking （SLAP） using single onboard sensor in situations with sensor noise and global uncertainties over the observer＇s pose. By the decomposition of the joint distribution according to the Rao-Blackwell theorem, posteriors of the robot pose are sequentially estimated over time by a smoothed laser perception model and an improved resampling scheme with evolution strategies; the conditional distribution of the person＇s position is estimated using unscented Kalman filter （UKF） to deal with the nonlinear dynamic of human motion. Experiments conducted in a real indoor service robot scenario validate the favorable performance of the positional accuracy as well as the improved computational efficiency.
