The usage of machine learning and deep learning algorithms have necessitated Artificial Intelligence'. AI is aimed at automating things by limiting human interference. It is widely used in IT, healthcare, finance, and agriculture. It is achieved through several deep learning algorithms that reflect the human brain's intelligence. These AI algorithms can be manipulated according to changing needs and improved efficiency. This paper tries to utilize the developments made in AI technology to classify the images and recognize the objects present in them. One widely used AI algorithm is CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks). The CNN is a deep learning-based algorithm that consists of various layers that extract and filters the parameters present in the images. Some additional layers of ResNet50 and the CNN algorithm are used to extract the parameters to improve image recognition accuracy. The image dataset taken for training and testing the proposed model is imageNet. The images are initially processed before sending them to the proposed model. The proposed model is trained, validated, and tested through the images obtained after the initial processing. The same process is repeated several times until getting the maximum accuracy. The accuracy of the proposed model in terms of image recognition is recorded. The obtained results are compared with other image classification algorithms like VGG16 and VGG19. A novel feature selection approach with integrated feature sensitivity and feature correlation for improved prediction of heart disease

This paper presents a random forest-feature sensitivity and feature correlation (RF-FSFC) technique for enhanced heart disease prediction. The proposed methodology is implemented using the Cleveland heart disease dataset which comprises a total of 120 heart disease patient records. Data imputation was utilized for missing values, and min–max normalization was utilized for data transformation. We attempted to construct an RF-based classifier for coronary heart disease in this paper by combining feature sensitivity and correlation analysis. The sensitivity-based feature selection process ranks features according to their value in assessing CHD risk, and the feature correlation analysis phase analyses if there are any correlations between features. The heart disease prediction accuracy of 81.16% was obtained using the proposed RF-FSFCA technique by omitting five features (sex, hemoglobin, TD, CRF, and cirrhosis). When compared to the Naïve Bayes, decision tree, regression analysis, and support vector machine models, the proposed model offered a higher accuracy of 86.141% without omitting any features. It also offered sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) scores of 87.321%, 87.364%, 91.23, and 91.02 respectively. Experiment findings demonstrated that the proposed RF-FSFC approach significantly improves prediction accuracy as compared to other approaches that do not use the integrated Feature selection method. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Enhancing pre-trained models for text summarization: a multi-objective genetic algorithm optimization approach

Pre-trained language models have significantly advanced text summarization by leveraging extensive pre-training data to enhance performance. Many cutting-edge models undergo an initial pre-training phase on a large corpus before being fine-tuned specifically for text summarization tasks. The challenge arises when the limited data available for these summarization tasks and the high complexity of the models lead to aggressive fine-tuning, which can cause the models to over fit the training data and fail to generalize well to new, unseen data. To address these challenges, the study proposes a multi-objective based Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) approach for optimizing pre-trained models for summarization The proposed approach first compares the performance of various pre-trained models by fine-tuning them with the CNN/Daily Mail dataset. Secondly, the proposed Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) is applied to all validated pre-trained models and compared using a statistical approach. Experimental results reveal that Pre-training with Extracted Gap-sentences for Abstractive Summarization Sequence-to-sequence (PEGASUS) model performs best among the pre-trained models. Further optimization with the proposed MOGA method yields even better results, with the optimized model achieving a Recall-Oriented Understudy for Gisting Evaluation) ROUGE-1 score of 0.514, a ROUGE-2 score of 0.4, and a ROUGE-L score of 0.5. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

A Comprehensive Study of Resource Provisioning and Optimization in Edge computing

Efficient resource provisioning, allocation, and computation offloading are critical to realizing low-latency, scalable, and energy-efficient applications in cloud, fog, and edge computing. Despite its importance, integrating Software Defined Networks (SDN) for enhancing resource orchestration, task scheduling, and traffic management remains a relatively underexplored area with significant innovation potential. This paper provides a comprehensive review of existing mechanisms, categorizing resource provisioning approaches into static, dynamic, and user-centric models, while examining applications across domains such as IoT, healthcare, and autonomous systems. The survey highlights challenges such as scalability, interoperability, and security in managing dynamic and heterogeneous infrastructures. This exclusive research evaluates how SDN enables adaptive policy-based handling of distributed resources through advanced orchestration processes. Furthermore, proposes future directions, including AI-driven optimization techniques and hybrid orchestration models. By addressing these emerging opportunities, this work serves as a foundational reference for advancing resource management strategies in next-generation cloud, fog, and edge computing ecosystems. DSAF: A Dual-Stage Attention Based Multimodal Fusion Framework for Medical Visual Question Answering

In the realm of clinical healthcare, medical visual question answering systems emerge as a pivotal innovation that plays a crucial role in clinical decision-making and patient care. They are designed to interpret medical images in response to free-form natural language questions, thereby facilitating a more nuanced and comprehensive understanding of patient diagnostics. This approach seeks to bridge the gap between complex medical imagery and the clinical questions they prompt, offering a novel avenue for enhancing diagnostic accuracy and efficiency. We introduce the Dual Stage Attention-based Fusion framework, which leverages an advanced feature fusion strategy, along with image encoding techniques and state-of-the-art biomedical language models, to process and analyze medical images and textual queries concurrently. By employing a dual-stage attention mechanism, the proposed model enhances feature extraction and integration, enabling a more accurate and refined analysis of both visual and textual data. The model specifically addresses the challenges commonly associated with medical visual question answering, including the intricate nature of medical imagery and the scarcity of high-quality, annotated medical datasets. The proposed multimodal augmentation technique, involving an autoencoder and generative language model, significantly enriches the data for model training which mitigates the data scarcity issue and enhances the model’s ability to generalize across different medical queries. Empirical validation of our model on the VQA-RAD and SLAKE datasets demonstrates its exceptional performance, achieving state-of-the-art accuracies of 80.8% and 86.2% respectively. These results underscore the model’s potential in AI-enhanced medical diagnostics and decision support systems to offer unprecedented diagnostic insights and patient care solutions. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

A Hybrid Approach to Dynamic Thread Allocation Driven by Workload and Task Prioritization

In today’s rapidly changing world, cloud service providers face numerous challenges in managing resources and meeting customer demands. To address these challenges, cloud service providers should prioritize the tasks and allocate threads efficiently. By allocating threads efficiently, service providers can optimize resource utilization and reduce response times and job completion times which in turn improves customer satisfaction. We propose a hybrid model that integrates the threshold-driven thread Balancer (TDTB) for dynamic thread allocation with a Customer Retention Model (CRM) to prioritize tasks based on customer behaviour. Our model initiates the establishment of a thread pool configured with a dynamic threshold based on workload (on-demand requests). Concurrently, a queue to handle incoming customer requests is set up alongside a CRM priority queue designed for task prioritization. Our model calculates Job duration and completion times for n priority classes. Crown consumers experience shorter durations and completion times compared to other priority classes. Tasks are completed in descending order of priority. The results of thorough experimentation clearly show that crown consumer tasks are highly satisfied. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
