Multi-Dimensional Training Optimization for Efficient Federated Synergy Learning

Edge learning (EL) is an end-to-edge collaborative learning paradigm enabling devices to participate in model training and data analysis, opening countless opportunities for edge intelligence. As a promising EL framework, federated synergy learning (FSyL) mitigates the computation and communication overhead on resource-constrained devices by offloading partial model layers to the edge server for synergistic training. Nevertheless, due to the system and statistical heterogeneity, naively using existing FSyL methods is significantly time-consuming and causes accuracy degradation. Motivated by this issue, this paper introduces a novel FSyL framework that integrates multi-dimensional training optimization and formulates the edge learning cost minimization (ELCM) problem. To tackle the ELCM efficiently, we design OL-MG, an OnLine Model Splitting and Resource Provisioning Game. Specifically, we first reformulate and decompose the original ELCM based on data quality evaluation. Then, given a model splitting decision, we determine the optimal resource provisioning in Sub-problem1, based on which optimal model splitting in Sub-problem2 is modeled as a potential game. Subsequently, we introduce a decentralized algorithm to find a Nash equilibrium (NE) solution. Furthermore, we further extend OL-MG to support a budget-aware multi-edge scenario. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed mechanism significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods in cost-saving and accuracy improvement. © 2025 IEEE.

Inductive Lottery Ticket Learning for Graph Neural Networks

Graph neural networks (GNNs) have gained increasing popularity, while usually suffering from unaffordable computations for real-world large-scale applications. Hence, pruning GNNs is of great need but largely unexplored. The recent work Unified GNN Sparsification (UGS) studies lottery ticket learning for GNNs, aiming to find a subset of model parameters and graph structures that can best maintain the GNN performance. However, it is tailed for the transductive setting, failing to generalize to unseen graphs, which are common in inductive tasks like graph classification. In this work, we propose a simple and effective learning paradigm, Inductive Co-Pruning of GNNs (ICPG), to endow graph lottery tickets with inductive pruning capacity. To prune the input graphs, we design a predictive model to generate importance scores for each edge based on the input. To prune the model parameters, it views the weight’s magnitude as their importance scores. Then we design an iterative co-pruning strategy to trim the graph edges and GNN weights based on their importance scores. Although it might be strikingly simple, ICPG surpasses the existing pruning method and can be universally applicable in both inductive and transductive learning settings. On 10 graph-classification and two node-classification benchmarks, ICPG achieves the same performance level with 14.26%–43.12% sparsity for graphs and 48.80%–91.41% sparsity for the GNN model.

Resource investment for DDoS attack resistant SDN: a practical assessment

Software-defined networks(SDNs) present a novel network architecture that is widely used in various datacenters. However, SDNs also suffer from many types of security threats, among which a distributed denial of service(DDoS) attack, which aims to drain the resources of SDN switches and controllers,is one of the most common. Once the switch or controller is damaged, the network services can be *** defense schemes against DDoS attacks have been proposed from the perspective of attack detection;however, such defense schemes are known to suffer from a time consuming and unpromising accuracy, which could result in an unavailable network service before specific countermeasures are taken. To address this issue through a systematic investigation, we propose an elaborate resource-management mechanism against DDoS attacks in an SDN. Specifically, by considering the SDN topology, we leverage the M/M/c queuing model to measure the resistance of an SDN to DDoS attacks. Network administrators can therefore invest a reasonable number of resources into SDN switches and SDN controllers to defend against DDoS attacks while guaranteeing the quality of service(QoS). Comprehensive analyses and empirical data-based experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

PeriodicMFD: A Periodic-based Framework for Multi-source Fault Diagnosis

Cross-speed bearing fault diagnosis based on multiple source domains and their data enables high-performance condition monitoring for variable-speed equipment, such as engines and turbines. Current multi-source methods typically employ a fixed-length sampling strategy to construct samples and then align the distributions of these samples from different domains. However, these methods neglect the inherent periodic characteristics of bearing data, resulting in incomplete or redundant periodic features in the samples. To address this challenge, we propose a periodic-based framework, PeriodicMFD, for multi-source cross-speed fault diagnosis, which ensures complete periodic information. Our PeriodicMFD framework begins with a periodic sampling strategy designed to construct periodic samples that effectively capture periodic features while maintaining their periodic integrity. Nevertheless, periodic samples from different domains exhibit inconsistencies at both the sample and domain levels. To reconcile these inconsistencies, we introduce sample-level matching to address inconsistencies in feature dimensions and fault patterns among samples from various domains. Additionally, we propose domain-level alignment to handle inconsistencies in space and distribution across different domains. Extensive experiments across three datasets highlight the effectiveness of the PeriodicMFD framework, with a stable average accuracy of 99.55%. © 2015 IEEE.

TRS Scheduling for Improved QoS Performance in Cloud System

Numerous methods are analysed in detail to improve task schedulingand data security performance in the cloud environment. The methodsinvolve scheduling according to the factors like makespan, waiting time,cost, deadline, and popularity. However, the methods are inappropriate forachieving higher scheduling performance. Regarding data security, existingmethods use various encryption schemes but introduce significant serviceinterruption. This article sketches a practical Real-time Application CentricTRS (Throughput-Resource utilization–Success) Scheduling with Data Security(RATRSDS) model by considering all these issues in task scheduling anddata security. The method identifies the required resource and their claim timeby receiving the service requests. Further, for the list of resources as services,the method computes throughput support (Thrs) according to the number ofstatements executed and the complete statements of the service. Similarly, themethod computes Resource utilization support (Ruts) according to the idletime on any duty cycle and total servicing time. Also, the method computesthe value of Success support (Sus) according to the number of completions forthe number of allocations. The method estimates the TRS score (ThroughputResource utilization Success) for different resources using all these supportmeasures. According to the value of the TRS score, the services are rankedand scheduled. On the other side, based on the requirement of service requests,the method computes Requirement Support (RS). The selection of service isperformed and allocated. Similarly, choosing the route according to the RouteSupport Measure (RSM) enforced route security. Finally, data security hasgets implemented with a service-based encryption technique. The RATRSDSscheme has claimed higher performance in data security and scheduling.

The pandemic creates a more complicated providence of medical assistance and diagnosis procedures. In the world, Covid-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS Cov-2), and plague are widely known pandemic disease desperations. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic tragedies, various medical diagnosis models and intelligent computing solutions are proposed for medical applications. In this era of computer-based medical environment, conventional clinical solutions are surpassed by many Machine Learning and Deep Learning-based COVID-19 diagnosis models. Anyhow, many existing models are developing lab-based diagnosis environments. Notably, the Gated Recurrent Unit-based Respiratory Data Analysis (GRU-RE), Intelligent Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-based Covid Data Analysis (Thermal Images) (I-UVAC), and Convolutional Neural Network-based computer Tomography Image Analysis (CNN-CT) are enriched with lightweight image data analysis techniques for obtaining mass pandemic data at real-time conditions. However, the existing models directly deal with bulk images (thermal data and respiratory data) to diagnose the symptoms of COVID-19. Against these works, the proposed spectacle thermal image data analysis model creates an easy and effective way of disease diagnosis deployment strategies. Particularly, the mass detection of disease symptoms needs a more lightweight equipment setup. In this proposed model, each patient's thermal data is collected via the spectacles of medical staff, and the data are analyzed with the help of a complex set of capsule network functions. Comparatively, the conventional capsule network functions are enriched in this proposed model using adequate sampling and data reduction solutions. In this way, the proposed model works effectively for mass thermal data diagnosis applications. A Review of Intelligent Configuration and Its Security for Complex Networks

Complex networks are becoming more complex because of the use of many components with diverse technologies. In fact, manual configuration that makes each component interoperable has breed latent danger to system security. There is still no comprehensive review of these studies and prospects for further research. According to the complexity of component configuration and difficulty of security assurance in typical complex networks, this paper systematically reviews the abstract models and formal analysis methods required for intelligent configuration of complex networks, specifically analyzes, and compares the current key technologies such as configuration semantic awareness, automatic generation of security configuration, dynamic deployment, and verification evaluation. These technologies can effectively improve the security of complex networks intelligent configuration and reduce the complexity of operation and maintenance. This paper also summarizes the mainstream construction methods of complex networks configuration and its security test environment and detection index system, which lays a theoretical foundation for the formation of the comprehensive effectiveness verification capability of configuration security. The whole lifecycle management system of configuration security process proposed in this paper provides an important technical reference for reducing the complexity of network operation and maintenance and improving network security.

Automatic Sentimental Analysis by Firefly with Levy and Multilayer Perceptron

The field of sentiment analysis(SA)has grown in tandem with the aid of social networking platforms to exchange opinions and *** people share their views and ideas around the world through social media like Facebook and *** goal of opinion mining,commonly referred to as sentiment analysis,is to categorise and forecast a target’s *** on if they provide a positive or negative perspective on a given topic,text documents or sentences can be *** compared to sentiment analysis,text categorization may appear to be a simple process,but number of challenges have prompted numerous studies in this area.A feature selection-based classification algorithm in conjunction with the firefly with levy and multilayer perceptron(MLP)techniques has been proposed as a way to automate sentiment analysis(SA).In this study,online product reviews can be enhanced by integrating classification and feature *** firefly(FF)algorithm was used to extract features from online product reviews,and a multi-layer perceptron was used to classify sentiment(MLP).The experiment employs two datasets,and the results are assessed using a variety of *** account of these tests,it is possible to conclude that the FFL-MLP algorithm has the better classification performance for Canon(98%accuracy)and iPod(99%accuracy).
