Recent Anomaly Detection techniques have progressed the field considerably but at the cost of increasingly complex training pipelines. Such techniques require large amounts of training data, resulting in computationally expensive algorithms that are unsuitable for settings where only a small amount of normal samples are available for training. We propose 'Few Shot anOMaly dEtection' (FewSOME), a deep One-Class Anomaly Detection algorithm with the ability to accurately detect anomalies having trained on 'few' examples of the normal class and no examples of the anomalous class. We describe FewSOME to be of low complexity given its low data requirement and short training time. FewSOME is aided by pretrained weights with an architecture based on Siamese Networks. By means of an ablation study, we demonstrate how our proposed loss, 'Stop Loss', improves the robustness of FewSOME. Our experiments demonstrate that FewSOME performs at stateof-the-art level on benchmark datasets MNIST, CIFAR-10, F-MNIST and MVTec AD while training on only 30 normal samples, a minute fraction of the data that existing methods are trained on. Moreover, our experiments show FewSOME to be robust to contaminated datasets. In the current era of extensive data usage across industries, data collection, preservation, utilization, and organization has become more challenging and nuanced because it is necessary to consider critical concerns such as data security, privacy, and legal issues, apart from efficiency issues. As a result, Thai government initiated the idea and effort to implement data governance throughout the government agency. This paper showcases the implementation of data governance in a governmental research organization with highly diverse structured and unstructured data. The implementation follows international standards and the guidelines of the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA). The executives set up the working body, including the data Governance Council and data Stewards, responsible for setting up and deploying policies and regulations. Creating awareness and the necessary infrastructure are the main focuses in the first-year phase. The metadata was designed to extend DGA's version and match the organization's unique requirements. A data catalog platform was developed accordingly. We organized activities to boost employee awareness and participation, including advertising and data catalog platform training. By the end of the first year of implementation, every organization unit had registered at least one data record into the data catalog. © 2023 IEEE.

Chatbot platforms, e.g., Facebook and Line, have revolutionized human interaction in the digital age. In order to develop an automatic chatbot classification, there are several challenges especially for Thai chat messages. Conversational messages are usually short and ambiguous. Therefore, it is difficult to find a dataset for constructing an effective classification model. To address the limited size of the dataset, data augmentation techniques can be possibly applied. data augmentation involves generating synthetic messages by applying various transformations to existing data samples while preserving their original meaning. In this study, the size and diversity of the dataset is increased by two methods, i.e., text augmentation using word2vec from Thai2Fit and English-Thai machine translation models proposed by VISTEC. Based on the augmented messages, a Deep learning technique, BiLSTM, is used to construct a chatbot classification model. Used car pricing is a critical aspect of the automotive industry, influenced by many economic factors and market dynamics. With the recent surge in online marketplaces and increased demand for used cars, accurate pricing would benefit both buyers and sellers by ensuring fair transactions. However, the transition towards automated pricing algorithms using machine learning necessitates the comprehension of model uncertainties, specifically the ability to flag predictions that the model is unsure about. Although recent literature proposes the use of boosting algorithms or nearest neighbor-based approaches for swift and precise price predictions, encapsulating model uncertainties with such algorithms presents a complex challenge. We introduce ProbSAINT, a model that offers a principled approach for uncertainty quantification of its price predictions, along with accurate point predictions that are comparable to state-of-the-art boosting techniques. Furthermore, acknowledging that the business prefers pricing used cars based on the number of days the vehicle was listed for sale, we show how ProbSAINT can be used as a dynamic forecasting model for predicting price probabilities for different expected offer duration. Our experiments further indicate that ProbSAINT is especially accurate on instances where it is highly certain. This proves the applicability of its probabilistic predictions in real-world scenarios where trustworthiness is crucial. © 2024, CC BY.

Existing domain adaptation (DA) methods often involve pre-training on the source domain and fine-tuning on the target domain. For multi-target domain adaptation, having a dedicated/separate fine-tuned network for each target domain, that retain all the pre-trained model parameters, is prohibitively expensive. To address this limitation, we propose Convolutional Low-Rank Adaptation (ConvLoRA). ConvLoRA freezes pre-trained model weights, adds trainable low-rank decomposition matrices to convolutional layers, and backpropagates the gradient through these matrices thus greatly reducing the number of trainable parameters. To further boost adaptation, we utilize Adaptive Batch Normalization (AdaBN) which computes target-specific running statistics and use it along with ConvLoRA. Our method has fewer trainable parameters and performs better or on-par with large independent fine-tuned networks (with less than 0.9% trainable parameters of the total base model) when tested on the segmentation of Calgary-Campinas dataset containing brain MRI images. Our approach is simple, yet effective and can be applied to any deep learning-based architecture which uses convolutional and batch normalization layers. Causal structure-discovery techniques usually assume that all causes of more than one variable are observed. This is the so-called causal sufficiency assumption. In practice, it is untestable, and often violated. In this paper, we present an efficient causal structure-learning algorithm, suited for causally insufficient data. Similar to algorithms such as IC* and FCI, the proposed approach drops the causal sufficiency assumption and learns a structure that indicates (potential) latent causes for pairs of observed variables. Assuming a constant local density of the data-generating graph, our algorithm makes a quadratic number of conditional-independence tests w.r.t. the number of variables. We show with experiments that our algorithm is comparable to the state-of-the-art FCI algorithm in accuracy, while being several orders of magnitude faster on large problems. We conclude that MBCS* makes a new range of causally insufficient problems computationally tractable.

The imbalanced data classification problem has aroused lots of concerns from both academia and industry since data imbalance is a widespread phenomenon in many real-world scenarios. Although this problem has been well researched from the view of imbalanced class samples, we further argue that graph neural networks (GNNs) expose a unique source of imbalance from the influenced nodes of different classes of labeled nodes, i.e., labeled nodes are imbalanced in terms of the number of nodes they influenced during the influence propagation in GNNs. To tackle this previously unexplored influence-imbalance issue, we connect social influence maximization with the imbalanced node classification problem and propose balanced influence maximization (BIM). Specifically, BIM greedily assigns the pseudo label to the node which can maximize the number of influenced nodes in GNN training while making the influence of each class more balance. Experimental results on five public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in relieving the influence-imbalance issue. For example, when training a GCN with an imbalance ratio of 0.1, BIM significantly outperforms the most competitive baseline by 0.6% -9.8% in five public datasets in terms of the F1 score. © 2024 IEEE.

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have achieved great success in various data mining tasks but they heavily rely on a large number of annotated nodes, requiring considerable human efforts. Despite the effectiveness of existing GNN-based Active learning (AL) methods, they assume that the annotated labels are always correct, which is contradictory to the error-prone labeling process in a practical crowdsourcing environment. Besides, due to this impractical assumption, existing works only focus on optimizing the node selection in AL but neglect optimizing the labeling process. Therefore, we present NC-ALG, the first GNN-based AL framework that optimizes both the node selection and node labeling process under a noisy crowd. For node selection, NC-ALG introduces a new measurement to model influence reliability and an effective influence maximization objective to select nodes. For node labeling, NC-ALG significantly reduces the labeling cost by considering the model-predicted labels and the labels of mirror nodes. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to consider GNN-based AL under the practical noisy crowd. Empirical studies on public datasets demonstrate that NC-ALG significantly outperforms existing methods in terms labeling efficiency. Notably, it only takes NC-ALG one-third of the labeling budget that the competitive baseline GRAIN needs to achieve an accuracy of 70.7 % on PubMed. © 2024 IEEE.

Perception datasets for Anomaly Detection in Autonomous Driving: A Survey

Deep neural networks (DNN) which are employed in perception systems for autonomous driving require a huge amount of data to train on, as they must reliably achieve high performance in all kinds of situations. However, these DNN are usually restricted to a closed set of semantic classes available in their training data, and are therefore unreliable when confronted with previously unseen instances. Thus, multiple perception datasets have been created for the evaluation of anomaly detection methods, which can be categorized into three groups: real anomalies in real-world, synthetic anomalies augmented into real-world and completely synthetic scenes. This survey provides a structured and, to the best of our knowledge, complete overview and comparison of perception datasets for anomaly detection in autonomous driving. Each chapter provides information about tasks and ground truth, context information, and licenses. Additionally, we discuss current weaknesses and gaps in existing datasets to underline the importance of developing further data. © 2023, CC BY.
