Assessing the effectiveness of the intervention measures of COVID-19 in China based on dynamical method

Normalized interventions were implemented in different cities in China to contain the outbreak of COVID-19 before December ***,the differences in the intensity and timeliness of the implementations lead to differences in final size of the *** the outbreak of COVID-19 in three representative cities Xi'an,Zhengzhou and Yuzhou in January 2022,as examples,we develop a compartmental model to describe the spread of novel coronavirus and implementation of interventions to assess concretely the effectiveness of Chinese interventions and explore their impact on epidemic *** applying reported human confirmed cases to verify the rationality of the model,we apply the model to speculate transmission trend and length of concealed period at the initial spread phase of the epidemic(they are estimated as 10.5,7.8,8.2 days,respectively),to estimate the range of basic reproduction number(2.9,0.7,1.6),and to define two indexes(transmission rate vt and controlled rate vc)to evaluate the overall effect of the *** is shown that for Zhengzhou,vc is always more than v t with regular interventions,and Xi'an take 8 days to achieve vc>v t twice as long as Yuzhou,which can interpret the fact that the epidemic situation in Xi'an was more *** carrying out parameter values,it is concluded that in the early stage,strengthening the precision of close contact tracking and frequency of large-scale nucleic acid testing of non-quarantined population are the most effective on controlling the outbreaks and reducing final ***,if the close contact tracking strategy is sufficiently implemented,at the late stage largescale nucleic acid testing of non-quarantined population is not essential.

Air pollution source tracing, which mainly identifies and analyzes the specific sources that lead to air pollution, is a prerequisite for preventing and controlling air pollution. Traditional source analysis methods are sensitive to insufficient or inaccurate data and rely on extensive data collection, which consumes much time, labor and financial resources. Therefore, this study proposes a VIME-XGBoost two-stage model, which can learn efficient data representations from limited data and significantly enhance cross-city pollution source resolution. The model combines the self-supervised learning framework in VIME (Value Imputation and Mask Estimation) with XGBoost Regressor, and the rich features are obtained by Feature Vector Estimator and Mask Vector Estimator in VIME, which are transferred to XGBoost Regressor for nonlinear learning. Real air pollution data from five cities in China are used in the study. The average R 2 reaches 0.84, and the average prediction error of the pollution sources among the five cities is less than 1%. Comparing the experimental results with other models, VIME-XGBoost shows stability and accuracy across cities and different pollution sources and has excellent generalization ability, providing a powerful and effective solution for pollution source analysis and environmental data prediction.

This paper presents a novel model protection paradigm Model Locking that locks the performance of a finetuned model on private data to make it unusable or unextractable without the right key. Specifically, we proposed a diffusion-based framework dubbed ModelLock that explores text-guided image editing to transform the private finetuning data into unique styles or blend new objects into the background. A model finetuned on this edited dataset will be locked and can only be unlocked by the key prompt, i.e., the same text prompt used to edit the data. We conduct extensive experiments on both image classification and segmentation tasks and show that 1) ModelLock can effectively lock finetuned models without significantly reducing their unlocked performance, and more importantly, 2) the locked model cannot be easily unlocked without knowing both the key prompt and the diffusion model. Our work opens up a new direction for intellectual property protection of private models. © 2024 ACM.

In smart classrooms, conducting multi-face expression recognition based on existing hardware devices to assessstudents’ group emotions can provide educators with more comprehensive and intuitive classroom effect analysis,thereby continuouslypromotingthe improvementof teaching ***,most existingmulti-face expressionrecognition methods adopt a multi-stage approach, with an overall complex process, poor real-time performance,and insufficient generalization ability. In addition, the existing facial expression datasets are mostly single faceimages, which are of low quality and lack specificity, also restricting the development of this research. This paperaims to propose an end-to-end high-performance multi-face expression recognition algorithm model suitable forsmart classrooms, construct a high-quality multi-face expression dataset to support algorithm research, and applythe model to group emotion assessment to expand its application value. To this end, we propose an end-to-endmulti-face expression recognition algorithm model for smart classrooms (E2E-MFERC). In order to provide highqualityand highly targeted data support for model research, we constructed a multi-face expression dataset inreal classrooms (MFED), containing 2,385 images and a total of 18,712 expression labels, collected from smartclassrooms. In constructing E2E-MFERC, by introducing Re-parameterization visual geometry group (RepVGG)block and symmetric positive definite convolution (SPD-Conv) modules to enhance representational capability;combined with the cross stage partial network fusion module optimized by attention mechanism (C2f_Attention),it strengthens the ability to extract key information;adopts asymptotic feature pyramid network (AFPN) featurefusion tailored to classroomscenes and optimizes the head prediction output size;achieves high-performance endto-end multi-face expression detection. In a multi-cloud storage system, provenance data records all operations and ownership during its lifecycle, which is critical for data security and audibility. However, recording provenance data also poses some challenging security and storage issues. In this paper, we present a secure and efficient multi-cloud storage data source scheme, BMDP. We use blockchain technology to ensure the secure storage of provenance data and design a smart contract to utilize the provenance data to ensure the proper operation of the multi-cloud storage system. Finally, we analyze the scheme's safety and do simulation experiments to show that the scheme has practicality. © 2023 IEEE.

The zenith tropospheric delay (ZTD) obtained by global navigation satellite system (GNSS) atmospheric sounding is a pivotal data source for water vapor monitoring. Meteorological changes in Antarctica play an important role in analysis of the global climate, but factors such as complex climatic conditions can limit the collection of meteorological data needed for ZTD retrieval. Therefore, it is necessary to establish high-precision ZTD models that do not rely on measured meteorological data. The existing global pressure and temperature 3 (GPT3) model has limited ability to capture complex weather variations and cannot obtain high-precision GPT3_ZTD. To address the above issues, this research proposes a high-precision ZTD model through using temporal convolutional network (TCN) for improving the hourly global pressure and temperature 2 (HGPT2) model. The HGTP2 model based on Fourier analysis and the time-segmentation concept can consider the linear trend of climate variations, simultaneously the TCN is introduced to simulate the long-term temporal dependence of HGPT2_ZTD, so as to achieve the goal of obtaining high-precision ZTD without relying on measured meteorological data. The experimental results show that the precision of TCN_ZTD obtained from the proposed model is higher than GPT3_ZTD and HGPT2_ZTD when using the GNSS_ZTD observations obtained from 35 stations in Antarctica as a reference, and the improvement of the model is obvious. © 2024, Aerospace Information Research Institute.

Nowadays, images play an essential role in people's lives as they document their memories and affairs. Therefore, a large number of images have been generated in different storage. As a result, there was a need to search for similar images in this colossal quantity. While enormous data processing requires speed in execution, it needs the parallel processing method. This study aims to develop a program to search for similar images using the image hashing methods, the Average Hashing, and the Difference Hashing, then to compare their performance. In addition, it aims to explore the effect of using parallelization on the speedup and efficiency of the program. The first part's results stated that the performance of the Average Hashing and the Difference Hashing methods was affected by the type of data used, despite their effectiveness in detecting identical images. As for the second part, the parallel program reduced the execution time by almost half using two workers, while the best speedup value was when using eight workers. In terms of efficiency, it achieved the highest results with a value greater than 0.9 when using two workers. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to effectively reveal the various scientific research entities and semantic relationships among them in the field of hydrogen energy technology, the top-down construction method was used to explore the construction process of the scientific research knowledge graph in the field of hydrogen energy technology. Ontology was used to construct the schema layer of the knowledge graph, after knowledge extraction and knowledge fusion in the data layer, the knowledge was stored in the Neo4j graph database. The knowledge graph constructed included 345300 entities of 8 types and 2167484 entity relationships of 12 types. Through the construction of the knowledge graph, the complex knowledge system visual analysis of various scientific research entities and their relationships can be effectively realized, it can provide support for researchers to grasp the whole research situation in the field of hydrogen energy technology. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Discriminative latent semantics-preserving similarity embedding hashing for cross-modal retrieval

Recently, there has been a significant increase in interest in cross-modal hashing technology. For hash code learning, most previous supervision methods use label information to create a similarity matrix in a straightforward manner. However, there are still the following challenges: (1) The asymmetric similarity matrix method only considers the similarity of labels, and the discriminant constraint in Hamming space is ignored;(2) there are optimization errors between the cross-modal semantic correlation of the Hamming space and the nonlinearity of the feature space;and (3) the cross-modal hash matrix is in a dynamic state during the optimization process, and the hash code is easily disturbed and there is bit uncertainty. To this end, we propose the Discriminative Latent Semantics-preserving Similarity Embedding Cross-modal Hashing (DLSSECH) method. Specifically, to reduce the quantization error, we introduce a non-asymmetric similarity decomposition based on orthogonal rotation bias. It can decompose the bitwise correlation of the learned hash code to capture more discriminative semantic information and compact hash code. In addition, to capture the cross-modal semantic correlation of nonlinear feature transformation and reduce quantization error, we propose the latent correlation error matrices based on orthogonal rotation decomposition. The model maintains the maximum difference in semantic dependencies between the projected data and its semantic representation. Finally, we use a sparse common hash matrix and non-asymmetric similarity decomposition factors to solve the uncertainty of the dynamic changes of the hash code. The effectiveness of DLSSECH has demonstrated through experiments on four cross-modal retrieval datasets, where it outperformed some state-of-the-art methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.
