Early surveillance of rice bakanae disease using deep learning and hyperspectral imaging

Bakanae disease,caused by Fusarium fujikuroi,poses a significant threat to rice production and has been observed in most rice-growing *** disease symptoms caused by different pathogens may vary,including elongated and weak stems,slender and yellow leaves,and dwarfism,as *** disease is likely to cause necrosis of diseased seedlings,and it may cause a large area of infection in the field through the transmission of ***,early disease surveillance plays a crucial role in securing rice *** monitoring methods are both time-consuming and labor-intensive and cannot be broadly *** this study,a combination of hyperspectral imaging technology and deep learning algorithms were used to achieve in situ detection of rice seedlings infected with bakanae *** data were obtained on the 9th,15th,and 21st day after rice infection to explore the physiological and biochemical performance,which helps to deepen the research on the disease *** data were obtained over these same periods of infection,and a deep learning model,named Rice Bakanae Disease-Visual Geometry Group(RBD-VGG),was established by leveraging hyperspectral imaging technology and deep learning *** on this model,an average accuracy of 92.2%was achieved on the 21st day of *** also achieved an accuracy of 79.4%as early as the 9th *** characteristic wavelengths were extracted to increase the feasibility of using portable spectral equipment for field ***,the model offers an efficient and non-destructive surveillance methodology for monitoring bakanae disease,thereby providing an efficient avenue for disease prevention and control.

Patent has been an increasingly important role in the world because it is not only significant to protect the invention of the company's business but also to generate revenue from the commercialization. WIPO (2018) reports that the repository has many patents so, to assess patent, it consumes time and requires various expertise. Generally, several models have been developed to address this matter, which to assess using a questionnaire tool for portfolios by human. Perhaps, there is not precise because it is assessed base on personal bias or previous experience of expertise. So that, occurs bias any limitation exists that our research will address by artificial intelligence. Thus, this research applies a Natural Language programming to assess for commercial of the patent. Then, the obtained data is used to assigned factors and calculate the model for assessing the commercialization of patent. This finding should deliver an alternative effective patent assessment, which is tool addresses, some current deficiency patent assessment for commercialization. © 2022 PICMET.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have an important role in improving the economy of small communities and the stability of the Indonesian economy. However, they still face various problems such as capital, raw materials, distribution, licensing, and others. This study developed a special treatment recommendation system to increase the independence of MSMEs by adopting a ranking-based method to produce recommendations related to problem-solving steps from MSMEs. The ranking method used Normalized Rating Frequency (NRF). This method performed an aggregation process of the ratings given by MSMEs in looking at the priority level of problem-solving based on previous experience. The result of the experiment showed that an average NDCG value was 0.7916. This explained that the quality of the ranking was good so that it was feasible to be recommended in solving problems in the form of special treatment to acquire to the independence of MSMEs. © 2021 IEEE

The quadcopter has a fairly simple mechanical design because it does not require other drives to perform various movements such as roll, pitch, and yaw. The simplicity of this mechanical design has a considerable impact on the complexity of its control. Therefore, it is necessary to have a good control method to maintain the stability of the quadcopter. The research aims to maintain stability of quadcopter by using a combination of the Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) with the Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) method, where FLC is used to initialize the input of the PID method to find the quadcopter stability point. The application of fuzzy methods for the initial tuning of PID parameters has proven effective in enhancing the system's fundamental performance, such as overshoot, rise time, and settling time, compared to the conventional PID approach. The proposed method can reduce overshoot by over 20%, with reductions reaching up to 88% in yaw motion. Additionally, the Fuzzy-PID approach significantly improves stability, shortening the time to achieve steady-state by less than 1 seconds for all movements while PID did more than 2s for pitch and roll motions and over 1s for yaw motion.

Obstacle removal in crowd evacuation is critical to safety and the evacuation system efficiency. Recently, manyresearchers proposed game theoreticmodels to avoid and remove obstacles for crowd evacuation. Game theoreticalmodels aim to study and analyze the strategic behaviors of individuals within a crowd and their interactionsduring the evacuation. Game theoretical models have some limitations in the context of crowd evacuation. Thesemodels consider a group of individuals as homogeneous objects with the same goals, involve complex mathematicalformulation, and cannot model real-world scenarios such as panic, environmental information, crowds that movedynamically, etc. The proposed work presents a game theoretic model integrating an agent-based model to removethe obstacles from exits. The proposed model considered the parameters named: (1) obstacle size, length, andwidth, (2) removal time, (3) evacuation time, (4) crowd density, (5) obstacle identification, and (6) route *** proposed work conducts various experiments considering different conditions, such as obstacle types, obstacleremoval, and several obstacles. Evaluation results show the proposed model’s effectiveness compared with existingliterature in reducing the overall evacuation time, cell selection, and obstacle removal. The study is potentially usefulfor public safety situations such as emergency evacuations during disasters and calamities.

To accurately assess the dynamic impact of a company’s activities on its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) scores, we have initiated a series of shared tasks, named ML-ESG. These tasks adhere to the MSCI guidelines for annotating news articles across various languages. This paper details the third iteration of our series, ML-ESG-3, with a focus on impact duration inference—a task that poses significant challenges in estimating the enduring influence of events, even for human analysts. In ML-ESG-3, we provide datasets in five languages (Chinese, English, French, Korean, and Japanese) and share insights from our experience in compiling such subjective datasets. Additionally, this paper reviews the methodologies proposed by ML-ESG-3 participants and offers a comparative analysis of the models’ performances. Concluding the paper, we introduce the concept for the forthcoming series of shared tasks, namely multi-lingual ESG promise verification, and discuss its potential contributions to the field. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association.

Deep gaining knowledge is a synthetic intelligence approach used to recognize complex facts. It uses many facts to recognize the complicated relationships between various factors. With deep learning, models can be built which might be capable of understanding the complicated patterns within big datasets. In this paper, we can explore using deep mastering in regression and type tasks on large datasets. In particular, we can use deep learning strategies to build a regression model that predicts a target value primarily based on the functions in a massive dataset and a classification version that can classify an object into one of the many classes of an extensive dataset. We can then discuss the overall performance of the fashions in comparison to standard models and talk about capability areas for development. Moreover, we will analyze the scalability of deep mastering strategies used on large datasets and discuss exceptional practices for building deep mastering fashions on massive datasets. Finally, we will summarize our findings and offer our conclusions approximately the use of deep studying in regression and type obligations on large datasets. © 2023 IEEE.

This research aims to build a mathematical model to formulate the problems of implementing knowledge management systems in companies that often face obstacles in achieving the desired objectives and goals. With increasing competition in the business sector, organizations or organizations realize the importance of utilizing the knowledge assets that reside in each individual and organization. If this knowledge can be managed optimally, it can become a competitive advantage for the company due to the emergence of innovative ideas by the concepts of knowledge management theory. By implementing optimal knowledge management (KM), companies can design innovative solutions to improve business operations and increase overall revenue. The factor analysis method will be used to find the determining factors for the success of the implementation of knowledge management systems (KMS) and the regression analysis method will also be used to form a mathematical model of several new factors which are formed as independent variables with the current level of community understanding of KMS as the dependent variable. The research results provide insight into strategies to improve success factors to successfully facilitate KMS implementation. This study contributes to existing knowledge management by providing insight into dynamics that go beyond the technical aspects of KMS, ultimately developing strategies for more effective and efficient utilization of knowledge and organizational growth and supporting competitive advantage for companies.

Biosorption of chromium by live and dead cells of Bacillus nitratireducens isolated from textile effluent

Bacillus nitratireducens was isolated from textile effluent and showed high tolerance to chromium (Cr), reaching up to a 1000 mg/L MIC value. This research was aimed at utilizing biosorbents from live and dead cells of B. nitratireducens to remove Cr from an aqueous solution. A batch biosorption test was performed, and mechanisms analysis was approached by an adsorption-desorption test, SEM-EDS, and FTIR analysis. Cr removal by dead cells in 25, 50, and 100 mg/L of Cr were 58.99 ± 0.7%, 69.8 ± 0.2%, and 82.87 ± 0.11%, respectively, while that by live cells was 73.08 ± 1.9%, 80.27 ± 6.33%, and 86.17 ± 1.93%, respectively. Live cells showed significantly higher Cr removal and adsorption capacities as compared to dead cells. In all concentrations, absorption contributed more than adsorption to the Cr removal by both live and dead cells. Absorption of Cr was subjected to occur due to passive mechanisms in dead cells while involving some active mechanisms in live cells. SEM-EDS confirmed the detection of Cr on the cell surface, while FTIR revealed the shifting of some peaks after the biosorption test, suggesting interactions between Cr and functional groups. Further TEM analysis is suggested to be conducted as a future approach to reveal the inner structure of cells and confirm the involvement of absorption mechanisms. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

In 2023, we proposed a hypothetical knowledge management framework that incorporates science fiction prototyping (SFP) into the traditional roadmapping (RM) method to make RM more innovative and create a future beyond what we can currently imagine. Our main objective is to create a new organizational knowledge co-creation method for generating innovative ideas by incorporating humanistic factors utilizing SFP into RM. In the current article, we present the exploratory study we conducted to examine the hypothetical framework. Experimental workshops were held in November 2023 to compare the integrated method, in which SFP is applied to RM, with the original RM method. We followed a crossover design in the workshops and analyzed the results qualitatively and quantitatively following the perspectives proposed in the hypothetical framework. The qualitative analysis revealed successful integration regarding diverse and broader perspectives. The quantitative analysis utilizing Wilcoxon signed rank tests showed that the scores of the integrated method were significantly higher than those of RM for variables evaluating the effectiveness of the integration, while not for variables related to participants' feelings and satisfaction with the workshops, and sustainability. These findings indicate that the integration was successful in terms of its effectiveness as a method, while participants' subjective feelings toward the workshops were not different in both methods. As for sustainability, which requires a long-term perspective, no apparent differences were observed in these short-term workshops. © 2024 PICMET.
