The security of information in this global era is increasingly becoming a vital need in various aspects of life. An information will have a higher value when it comes to aspects of business decisions. This study presents a learning application to explain how to secure data using cryptographic techniques. This study aims to design a prototype learning application of cryptographic techniques using algorithm RC4 method. Based on the results of data analysis and after completing the design of RC4 algorithm cryptographic learning software, the authors found this software shows every step and stages of the processes (data input process (Plaintext or Ciphertext string), Key padding process (U), formation process in S-Box table, the Key-Flow formation process (K-keystream), encryption process and decryption process) contained in RC4 algorithm cryptography, so it can help understanding or learning work procedures of algorithms in the cryptographic method. Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) application that is used to create and develop software. In this application there were various features that facilitate programming such as compilation, debugging, project settings, designing and editing visual interfaces, and so on.

This study quantifies the impact of variations in the aromatic content of F-24 fuel on the combustion and performance of a turbocharged, direct-injection aviation diesel engine. The engine used in the study was a multi-cylinder, 4-stroke diesel engine, intended for use in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). Four fuel blends meeting the MIL-DTL-83133J standards for F-24 were specially prepared for the study. The cetane number, heating value, and other fuel properties were maintained within a very narrow range, while only the aromatic content was varied, from 4 to 24%, by volume. Using each fuel, the engine was operated at a series of standard sea level operating conditions from idle to full power takeoff. The engine was controlled using the manufacturer's original engine control unit, fuel map, and calibration. Combustion and performance properties of the engine were measured and analyzed using each fuel, at each engine operating condition. In switching between the four fuels, the impact on combustion properties was found to be small, but non-negligible. However, there was no apparent trend resulting from increasing the aromatic content. Engine performance properties such as power, torque, and fuel consumption were found to be largely unaffected by changing the aromatic content.

We evaluated the temperature change of facial parts as affected by mental work-load (MWL) using infrared thermography. Under MWL, autonomic nerves are active, and the skin surface temperature changes with muscular contraction. In particular, the nasal part of the face experiences the most intense change. Based on this, in previous studies MWL was evaluated by using nasal skin temperature. However, we considered whether other parts of the face experience temperature change under MWL. Therefore, in this study, to identify which other parts of the face experience temperature change, we performed an experiment to acquire facial thermal images when subjects perform a mental arithmetic calculation task. Our results indicate that, in addition to the nasal part, the temperatures around the lips and cheek might also increase under MWL. © 2016 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

Currently, thousands of tons of metallic nanoparticles (MNPs) are produced and utilized in nano-enabled devises, personal care, medicinal, food and agricultural products. It is generally accepted that the reaction compounds and the techniques used in industrial production of MNPs are not environmentally friendly. The green synthesis has been proposed as an alternative to reduce the use of hazardous compounds and harsh reaction conditions in the production of MNPs. In this endeavor, investigators have used organic compounds, microbes, plants and plant-derived materials as reducing agents. Research papers are published every year, and each one of them stresses the benefits of the green approach and the advantages over the traditional syntheses. However, after almost two decades since the explosion of the reports about the new approach, the commercial production of green-synthesized nanoparticles does not seem to find a way to scale up commercial production. This review includes descriptions of the traditional and green synthesis and applications of MNPs and highlights the factors limiting the use of plant-based synthesis as a real alternative to the traditional synthesis of MNPs. © 2016, Springer International Publishing Switzerland.

Background: The sustainable development goals (SDGs) aim to end HIV/AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. Understanding the current state of the HIV epidemic and its change over time is essential to this effort. This study assesses the current sex-specific HIV burden in 204 countries and territories and measures progress in the control of the epidemic. Methods: To estimate age-specific and sex-specific trends in 48 of 204 countries, we extended the Estimation and Projection Package Age-Sex Model to also implement the spectrum paediatric model. We used this model in cases where age and sex specific HIV-seroprevalence surveys and antenatal care-clinic sentinel surveillance data were available. For the remaining 156 of 204 locations, we developed a cohort-incidence bias adjustment to derive incidence as a function of cause-of-death data from vital registration systems. The incidence was input to a custom Spectrum model. To assess progress, we measured the percentage change in incident cases and deaths between 2010 and 2019 (threshold >75% decline), the ratio of incident cases to number of people living with HIV (incidence-to-prevalence ratio threshold <0·03), and the ratio of incident cases to deaths (incidence-to-mortality ratio threshold <1·0). Findings: In 2019, there were 36·8 million (95% uncertainty interval [UI] 35·1–38·9) people living with HIV worldwide. There were 0·84 males (95% UI 0·78–0·91) per female living with HIV in 2019, 0·99 male infections (0·91–1·10) for every female infection, and 1·02 male deaths (0·95–1·10) per female death. Global progress in incident cases and deaths between 2010 and 2019 was driven by sub-Saharan Africa (with a 28·52% decrease in incident cases, 95% UI 19·58–35·43, and a 39·66% decrease in deaths, 36·49–42·36). Elsewhere, the incidence remained stable or increased, whereas deaths generally decreased. Removal of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from biogas for the community in the province of Maha Sarakham

Biogas produced from the fermentation in the province of Maha Sarakham of excreta from cow dung, fattening pigs and buffalo dung in small scale farms contained hydrogen sulfide (H2S) at 764, 926 and 1,103 ppm, respectively. This gas has offensive smell and is corrosive to motor and metal stove of farmers, thus needs to be eliminated. The adsorbent granules soaking in FeCl3 and NaOH made from grey cement mixed with diatomaceous earth or fine sand. The experiment cow dung, fattening pigs and buffalo dung farms revealed that the adsorbent granules made from fine sand mixed with grey cement had better efficiency in reducing H2S than diatomaceous earth plus grey cement or scrap iron (97.1-91.4 vs. 86.0-64.3 and 77.9-89.4%, P<0.01). The reduction of H2S increased with the increasing weight of the adsorbent tanks, made from fine sand mixed with grey cement, from 2 to 4 and 6 kg (84.1-89.2 to 92.7-98.0 and 100-99.1%, respectively). Adsorbent set of 6 kg weight can be reduced H2S in biogas from 3,141 to 0 ppm in the first day and to 6 ppm on day 25 of using period, during which the colour of adsorbent granules changed from red brown to dark brown.

Background: The causes for immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs) are diverse and the incidence trends of IMIDs from specific causes are rarely studied. The study aims to investigate the pattern and trend of IMIDs from 1990 to 2019. Methods: We collected detailed information on six major causes of IMIDs, including asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis, between 1990 and 2019, derived from the Global Burden of Disease study in 2019. The average annual percent change (AAPC) in number of incidents and age standardized incidence rate (ASR) on IMIDs, by sex, age, region, and causes, were calculated to quantify the temporal trends. Findings: In 2019, rheumatoid arthritis, atopic dermatitis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease accounted 1.59%, 36.17%, 54.71%, 0.09%, 6.84%, 0.60% of overall new IMIDs cases, respectively. The ASR of IMIDs showed substantial regional and global variation with the highest in High SDI region, High-income North America, and United States of America. Throughout human lifespan, the age distribution of incident cases from six IMIDs was quite different. Globally, incident cases of IMIDs increased with an AAPC of 0.68 and the ASR decreased with an AAPC of −0.34 from 1990 to 2019. The incident cases increased across six IMIDs, the ASR of rheumatoid arthritis increased (0.21, 95% CI 0.18, 0.25), while the ASR of asthma (AAPC = −0.41), inflammatory bowel disease (AAPC = −0.72), multiple sclerosis (AAPC = −0.26), psoriasis (AAPC = −0.77), and atopic dermatitis (AAPC = −0.15) decreased. The ASR of overall and six individual IMID increased with SDI at regional and global level. Countries with higher ASR in 1990 experienced a more rapid decrease in ASR. Interpretation: The incidence patterns of IMIDs varied considerably across the world. Continuous agricultural innovations are required to feed the exploding human population through natural or artificial resources. Though light is ample on earth, two-third of unavailable ocean and one-third of available soil are major limiting factors to free growth. Excessive fertilizer usage is irreversibly altering the chemical ecology of soil, further reducing the available area. Seed metabolism might be a potential answer to this resource crunch. Without genetic modification and thus maintaining the existing biodiversity, manipulation of seed metabolism at the very onset of germination is a sustainable alternative. The current work presents seed priming with iron pyrite (FeS2) prior to sowing as one such sustainable and innovative intervention to reduce fertilizer consumption in vegetable (beetroot, carrot), spice (fenugreek), fodder (alfalfa), and oilseed (mustard, sesamum) crops. A 12-h seed pretreatment in an aqueous suspension of nano-iron disulfide/pyrite (FeS2) resulted in significant yield increase in the above crops. While agriculturists aim to restore the natural genomic diversity of different domesticated crops, environmental engineers require technologies to reduce fertilizer consumption without compromising agricultural yields, thereby making the planet more sustainable. This nanoscale seed pretreatment approach using FeS2, otherwise a benign earth abundant mineral, suggests the sustainable opportunity to translate this technology to other crops thereby enhancing the global agricultural production. © 2016, Springer International Publishing Switzerland.

Background: High-resolution estimates of HIV burden across space and time provide an important tool for tracking and monitoring the progress of prevention and control efforts and assist with improving the precision and efficiency of targeting efforts. We aimed to assess HIV incidence and HIV mortality for all second-level administrative units across sub-Saharan Africa. Methods: In this modelling study, we developed a framework that used the geographically specific HIV prevalence data collected in seroprevalence surveys and antenatal care clinics to train a model that estimates HIV incidence and mortality among individuals aged 15–49 years. We used a model-based geostatistical framework to estimate HIV prevalence at the second administrative level in 44 countries in sub-Saharan Africa for 2000–18 and sought data on the number of individuals on antiretroviral therapy (ART) by second-level administrative unit. We then modified the Estimation and Projection Package (EPP) to use these HIV prevalence and treatment estimates to estimate HIV incidence and mortality by second-level administrative unit. Findings: The estimates suggest substantial variation in HIV incidence and mortality rates both between and within countries in sub-Saharan Africa, with 15 countries having a ten-times or greater difference in estimated HIV incidence between the second-level administrative units with the lowest and highest estimated incidence levels. Across all 44 countries in 2018, HIV incidence ranged from 2·8 (95% uncertainty interval 2·1–3·8) in Mauritania to 1585·9 (1369·4–1824·8) cases per 100 000 people in Lesotho and HIV mortality ranged from 0·8 (0·7–0·9) in Mauritania to 676·5 (513·6–888·0) deaths per 100 000 people in Lesotho. Variation in both incidence and mortality was substantially greater at the subnational level than at the national level and the highest estimated rates were accordingly higher.
