The advent of Chat-GPT, an AI-driven technology, is reshaping various sectors, particularly higher education. This study, merging the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of technology (UTAUT) with the Protection Motivation Theory (PMT), explores the relationship between technology adoption and protection motivation in higher education, addressing the concept of "the (un)knowledgeable, the (un)skilled." Through Structural Equation Modeling, findings from Indonesian participants (N = 445), including students and lecturers, reveal that perceived benefits such as task efficiency, hedonic motivation, performance expectancy, and effort expectancy predominantly motivate Chat-GPT use. Risk perception leans more on perceived vulnerability than severity, with insignificant impact from response cost. Response efficacy and self-efficacy significantly determine intention. Insight from moderating effect of educational level suggest that doctoral-level users demonstrate increased Chat-GPT usage, and gender plays a role in response efficacy and task efficiency. Both educational level and gender actively influence users’ intentions and actual usage behavior. These insights guide educators, policymakers, and institutions in ethically integrating AI, managing evolving risk perceptions, and empowering users in the dynamic AI landscape of higher education. Policymakers (e.g., university boards) are urged to dexterity an ethical framework and authorize in user efficacy to ensure equitable access and benefits from Chat-GPT in education. © 2024 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

In the modern age of rapid global information circulation, public opinion on social media reflects differences in people's opinions on a certain issue. These opinions can include emotions, likes and dislikes, etc. Once an incident happens, many social media gather a lot of discussions. Such situations let us to analyze the public's perception and preferences through public opinion analysis. Moreover, people cannot live without food, thus our team takes gourmet restaurants as an entry point to develop a public opinion analysis platform for gourmet restaurants. This study uses Python web crawler technology to capture data from public websites, such as PTT, Dcard, and Google Maps user comments. Then we extract public opinion data in the last year, clean and sort the data, and combine the sentiment analysis tool SnowNLP, analyze the positive and negative emotions of users’ comments in various restaurants. And we screen out the top popular restaurants in the form of scores, build a website entry function so that users can query and view the names, ratings of various restaurants, and emotional scores sorted out by our team. Purpose: The unfolding story of Boeing enables increased understanding of what transpired, of how what happened. That understanding enables fuller, more nuanced, specific, and useful recommendations for organizational leaders everywhere. Design/methodology/approach: Compiling key events in Boeing’s migration from symbol of acclaimed quality products to a troubled maker of a repeatedly (and fatally so) flawed product ground interpretation and extraction of lessons for organizational leaders. Findings: Restoring Boeing’s legacy of trust and industry leadership would demand more than words. It will demand rethinking strategic direction and implementation, such as restructuring its work systems, particularly the decision-making processes, and aligning them with long-term goals of quality, safety, and innovation. Boeing needs a coordinated effort to rebuild its culture, an effort necessarily comparable to the effort it employed to disassemble it. Practical implications: This paper assists readers in understanding what underlies the Boeing story, indeed the Boeing tragedy. The facts testify to the decay and rot at Boeing. The facts alone, even when combined with first pass “sense making” under headings such as “culture” and “short term focus”, do not adequately explain what produced the facts. This paper attempts to provide that explanation in the service of furthering learning and improving future actions by organizational leaders, especially concerning their development and implementation of strategy. Social implications: Boeing offers a cautionary tale-fatality, destruction of value, and erosion of employee well-being. Organizing this tale, as the article does, through both application of theory and extraction of lessons, moves the tale beyond frightening to understanding of underlying leadership and of how to avoid replicating Boeing's tragedy. Fostering green customer citizenship behavioral intentions through green hotel practices: the roles of pride, moral elevation, and hotel star ratings

In the past decade, hotels have increasingly adopted green practices due to heightened customers’ environmental concerns and a commitment to fostering sustainability. While the literature on green hotel practices is abundant, understanding customers’ extra-role behaviors in response to these practices remains a complex and underexplored area. This study, based on social exchange theory, examines how perceptions of green hotel practices boost customer citizenship behavioral intentions (green CCBi). It further explores the mediating mechanisms of pride and moral elevation and the moderating mechanism of hotel star ratings in this association. The proposed hypotheses were tested utilizing a multi-method quantitative approach with data collected from hotel guests in Taiwan. Findings from the survey (N = 407) reveal that green practices have a positive and direct effect on green CCBi and have indirect effects through pride and moral elevation. Furthermore, the impacts of green hotel practices on green CCBi, pride, and moral elevation are stronger for higher-star-rated hotels. These findings are reinforced by the results of the two experiments (N = 492). The insights guide hotel managers and policymakers in crafting more effective green strategies to evoke customers’ positive emotions and voluntary behavior among customers. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The worldwide aging population has been on the rise due to the advancement of medical science and decreasing birth rates. Unfortunately, this has led to an increase in falls among the elderly, which has emerged as one of the top ten causes of death for elderly individuals in Taiwan. To address this issue, our study aims to leverage the widespread use of smartphones and smartwatches to detect and prevent falls in older adults. Our machine learning model is trained using the UMAFall dataset, which collects data on daily activities and falling actions through five sensing devices. We used Azure Machine Learning Studio to test six different machine learning algorithms to evaluate suitable algorithms. In the end, the Two-Class Decision Tree algorithm achieved the best results. In our next step, this method will be programmed with the TensorFlow Lite and train the model. This model will be integrated into Android-based apps that can be installed on smartphones. By continuously connecting the smartwatch and smartphone Apps, the accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer in both devices can be compared and analyzed in real time using the TensorFlow Lite model, accurately determining the wearer's actions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Clustering algorithms have long sought to replicate human expertise in data clustering. This research utilizes six mechatronic products and a team of domain experts to assess how closely the results of six clustering algorithms align with expert-generated outcomes. This comparison of clustering results includes validation indices, the analysis of component migrations between the generated clusters, and optical inspection. The mechatronic products were selected for their complex nature, which provides a challenging context for the clustering analysis. The algorithms used in this research are Ward’s method (WARD), partitioning around medoids (PAM), K-means (K-MEANS), divisive analysis (DIANA), density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN), and clustering by fast search and find of density peaks (DPC), and the validation indices employed to evaluate the clustering results are the silhouette coefficient (SC) and the composed density between and within clusters (CDbw). © The Author(s) 2025.

The influence of unsaturation modifications on the tribological characteristics of bio-based lubricants obtained from vegetable oils: a review

The current need for energy transition has driven research on the production of new fuels and lubricants from more biodegradable and renewable raw materials. In this context, the chemical synthesis of vegetable oils and animal fats-from which esterification/transesterification, epoxidation, oxirane ring opening, hydrogenation, and estolide formation stand out-is being successfully applied in generating biolubricants with physicochemical characteristics comparable to those of commercial mineral lubricants. In this article, a literature review was conducted to identify and present outlines of the formation of the lubrication mechanisms of the molecules obtained via the aforementioned chemical processes when subjected to tribological tests. Collected data suggest that biolubricants formed by the association of polar groups and with a lower unsaturation content are more efficient at forming lubricating films that reduce friction and resist wear-inducing shear forces. These chemical pathways demonstrate the possibility of obtaining lubricants with numerous characteristics that depend both on the base oil used and the reagents involved, showing that the future of biolubricants lies in improving these methods.

Cybersecurity threats information (CTI) sharing protects firms and stakeholders from cyberattacks and avoid security vulnerabilities. However, despite these benefits of CTI sharing, firms are still unwilling to share due to barriers and challenges related to a lack of trust. Some studies explored the significance of trust in sharing cyber security information, but further studies are required to determine what dimensions compose trust, which processes support trust, and what trust building policies have been enacted to foster the sharing of information in cybersecurity ecosystems, which is the main purpose of this review. The deliverables from this review present 25 trust dimensions, 6 main processes supporting trust, and 30 trust government policies enacted to foster trust and sharing in cybersecurity. These outcomes enable the creation of a framework for building trust in cybersecurity ecosystems and facilitating the cyberthreat information sharing. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The ASEAN region faces unique challenges in urban transportation due to rapid urbanization, increasing population densities, and the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions. This study does a thorough bibliometric analysis of the patterns and advancements in smart mobility, with the objective of tackling these difficulties between 2013 and 2023, focusing on 1,249 peer-reviewed publications. The analysis shows a consistent increase in research effort, with publications reaching their highest point in the past two years. The study identified six main research areas: Intelligent Transportation Systems, Public Transportation, Smart City, Urban Mobility, Autonomous Vehicle, and Advanced Mobility Technologies. The findings suggest a transition from conventional transportation systems to integrated, technologically enhanced solutions prioritizing sustainability and efficiency. The study emphasizes the importance of innovation in addressing urban transportation issues in ASEAN cities and proposes potential areas for further research, including incorporating emerging technology and analyzing socio-economic effects. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Zero trust in cybersecurity: managing critical challenges for effective implementation

Purpose: This study investigates the challenges of adopting Zero Trust (ZT) as a security strategy in contemporary organizations, where traditional security measures are insufficient. This paper aims to provide a robust and objective framework for managing ZT implementation through an integrated approach. Design/methodology/approach: An expert panel of 29 professionals contributed to identifying and weighting key management criteria for ZT adoption. This study used fuzzy Delphi to achieve consensus and the CRITIC (Criteria Importance through Intercriteria Correlation) method to ensure objectivity in determining criteria importance. Findings: The results reveal four critical dimensions – culture, operations and processes, compliance, and investments – along with 33 specific criteria essential for successful ZT implementation. This study highlights the potential for reversal of rank under dynamic decision-making conditions, emphasizing the necessity for continuous refinement and adaptation. Practical implications: The insights derived from this research offer valuable guidance for security leaders, professionals and consultants in navigating the complexities of ZT adoption. By addressing managerial challenges and providing a structured approach, this study contributes to a smoother transition from traditional cybersecurity models to ZT frameworks. Originality/value: This research offers a novel contribution to ZT management by applying an innovative, management-centered methodology to systematically identify and prioritize the critical challenges involved. It provides a structured framework that enables security managers to prioritize critical areas – cultural, financial, operational and compliance – essential for the successful implementation of ZT. © 2025, Emerald Publishing Limited.
