In this paper, we conducted an user study on digital magazine applications based on three different interaction styles. Though different reading interfaces and applications of mobile device to focused on the reading behavior by stable user groups. In doing so, we describe how the methods have worked, describe the expected results for these methods to support digital magazine application user research, and make the study for interdisciplinary collaboration through implementing these practices. © 2012 AICIT.

The goal of our research is to develop a computer system based on the concept of pictures-And-Attributed-notes (PAN) aiming to stimulate creativity and imagination when users create a story. We have conducted an experiment and used the Conceptual, Operational, Perceptional and Evaluation (COPE) coding system to analyze the process of creating a story with the aid of computer system. The preliminary results revealed that the computer system based on PAN can stimulate user's creativity during the process of story creation. Copyright 2011 ACM.

Electroencephalography (EEG) signals are recorded for knowing the electrical activity of the brain from the scalp, and the recorded waveform provides acquits into the dynamic aspects of brain activity. This study incorporates the circuit design and device development to achieve the Electroencephalography signal acquisition front-end circuit design for future Brain-computer Interface (BCI) applications. The amplitude of acquired signals should be strong enough and is usually expressed in the unit of millivolts. The data acquisition procedure consists three stages: 1) The acquisition of original EEG signal can be done by the active electrode and an instrumentation amplifier with a smaller gain;2) Improves the signal quality by using band-pass filter and band-stop filter;3) Those EEG signals convert into the digital code through the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that will be integrated into a micro-controller. The digital code is stored into an embedded memory and is further transmitted via the Bluetooth module. The experimental results show that the system could implement the acquisition and storage of the EEG signals efficiently. The size of the printed circuit board (PCB) for the proposed design is smaller than 5.5 cm2. This system would be a benefit to all involved in the use of EEG for clinical diagnosis and monitoring, or even for the braincomputer interface. © 2020 IEEE.

Functional and non-functional requirements are equally important in software engineering. Both of them are mixed together within the same software requirement document. Usually, they are expressed in natural languages. so, a lot of human effort is required to classify them. software requirements classification is a challenging task. Requirements classification can help developers to deliver quality software that meets users' expectations completely. In this paper, we present a semi-Automated classification approach of Arabic functional and non-functional requirements using a natural language processing (NLP) tool. We propose a set of heuristics based on basic constructs of Arabic sentences in order to extract information from Arabic software requirements to classify the requirements into functional and non-functional requirements. This research aims to help software engineers by reducing the cost and time required in performing manual classification of software requirements. © 2021 IEEE.

In this paper, we describe the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) implementation of our City-LEs code on detailed large eddy simulations, including the multi-physical phenomena on fluid dynamics, heat absorption and reflection by surface and building materials, cloud effects, and even sunlight effect. Because a detailed simulation involving these phenomena is required for analyses at the street level and several meters of resolution, the computation amount is enormous, and ordinary CPU computation cannot provide sufficient performance. Therefore, we implemented the entire code on GPU clusters with large-scale computing. We applied OpenACC coding to incrementally implement relatively easy programming and eliminate data transfers between the CPU and GPU memories. Based on this research, we determined that the elimination of data transfers is effective, even in the case where a part of the code execution on the GPU is slower than the CPU, owing to the absence of spatial parallelism. The objective of this study is to perform a complete climate simulation on a few square-kilometers field around the Tokyo station, considering the finest resolution of the original highlighted area of the Marathon race in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. We successfully transferred the entire code to the GPU to provide approximately eight times the performance of CPU-only computation on multi-GPU per node with a large scale cluster. © 2022, IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.

In the high-performance computing domain, Field programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is a novel accelerator that exhibits high flexibility and performance characteristics distinct from other accelerators such as the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Recent advanced high-end FPGA is equipped with multiple channels of high speed optical link up to 100Gbps performance for each. This is a crucial feature when we construct PC clusters with FPGAs as accelerators, however it is not easy to utilize from user kernels because this feature is implemented in low level and simple direct communication between neighboring FPGAs. In order to provide the communication feature between FPGAs for accelerated PC clusters, we developed a communication system named CIRCUs which implies a user-friendly API from OpenCL and is equipped with routing function over multi-hop communication on multi-dimensional torus network of FPGAs. However, current CIRCUs only provides a point-to-point communication between source and destination FPGAs. In ordinary parallel processing environment such as MPI, the user program the message passing with various collective communication functions for parallel algorithm, for instance Allreduce, Allgather, etc. In this paper, we implement the collective communication function over CIRCUs for user-friendly programming of ordinary parallel algorithms on FPGAs. As the first target, we implement Allreduce function which is the most essential and important function. The paper describes the CIRCUs system briefly followed by the design, implementation and preliminary performance evaluation on Intel stratix10 FPGAs. © 2023 ACM.

Widyaiswara is required to show the best performance to fulfill his duties and obligations. Therefore, it is very important to measure the performance of the Widyaiswara, so that it can be used as evaluation material by the BPsDM PROVsU. However, the assessment process that occurs is still not precise and time-consuming. Therefore, to minimize this, a decision support system is needed that can minimize time errors and data processing in decision-making so that the assessment runs well and accurately. This system was built by applying the WAsPAs method and the TOPsIs method. Based on the results of tests carried out five times, the results of the WAsPAs method processing time resulted in an average processing time of 0.00029791 ms and an average memory usage value of 2.836.44 kb, while the results of the TOPsIs method processing time test resulted in an average processing time - an average of 0.000296428 ms and an average memory usage value of 2.862.34 kb. © 2022 IEEE.

In the last years, the exponential growth of computer networks has created an incredibly increase of network data traffic. The management becomes a challenging task, requesting a continuous monitoring of the network to detect and diagnose problems, and to fix problems and to optimize performance. Tools, such as Tcpdump and snort are commonly used as network sniffer, logging and analysis applied on a dedicated host or network segment. They capture the traffic and analyze it for suspicious usage patterns, such as those that occur normally with port scans or Denial-of-service attacks. These tools are very important for the network management, but they do not take advantage of human cognitive capacity of the learning and pattern recognition. To overcome this limitation, this paper aims to present a visual interactive and multiprojection 3D tool with automatic data classification for attack detection. © 2014 springer International Publishing.

Background: 3D Collaborative Virtual Environments (3DCVE) have been used to allow multiple geographically distant users to share virtual reality environment. This remote user collaboration requires to deal with network problems. Objective: The objective of this systematic review is twofold: (1) to identify possible solutions to network issues, especially those related to the Internet, such as jitter, latency and packet loss;and (2) to identify the protocols and network topologies commonly used in 3DCVE. Results: We selected 132 papers from the most commonly used search portals, i.e., IEEE, ACM, scopus, springer, science Direct and Web of science. We also describe the studies conducted over the past 10 years, highlighting the network protocols and topologies, which are commonly used. Finally, we suggest a framework architecture for 3DCVE based on graphic cluster. © 2014 springer International Publishing.

A process-scheduling algorithm is a fundamental operating system function that manages the assignment of CPU (Central Processing Unit) processes. It aims to make the system efficient, fast, and fair, allowing as many processes as possible to make the best use of the CPU at any given time. Understanding scheduling algorithms and their impact in practice is a challenging and time-consuming task for students, given the differing features of each operating system. Operating system simulators are usually based on either a command line or bidimensional front-end interface. This paper presents a process-scheduling simulator based on virtual reality technology that allows students to develop their empirical skills while learning process-scheduling algorithms. The simulator allows the learner to navigate inside a computer motherboard and interact with its components in multi-projection environments such as CAVE-like systems (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment), on a desktop, in a Web browser, or using an HMD (head-mounted display) such as Google Cardboard. © 2016 IEEE.
