The purpose of this study is to investigate the disinfection effect of Near-UV LED light, which is pulsed using PWM control, on staphylococcus aureus. To evaluate the disinfection effect of Near-UV LED light, three types of Near-UV LEDs with wavelengths of 395 nm, 385 nm, and 365 nm were installed within a sealed space inside an incubator and energized with a forward current of 1000 mA and a forward voltage of 3.6 V, and the disinfection rate under each type of light was assessed. Additionally, the disinfection effect was evaluated when the same three types of Near-UV LEDs were pulsed with a 50% duty cycle. As a result, 100% disinfection was achieved with 365 nm Near-UV LED direct-current irradiation for 120 seconds, and a 93% disinfection rate was obtained with pulsed irradiation for 150 seconds.

Effect of resin impregnation on mechanical properties of rice hull silica carbon

New utilization of rice hull, which is one of the agricultural by-products in Japan, is required to use as an industrial resource from a viewpoint of recycling. The rice hull silica carbon (RHs carbon) material is manufactured by mixing and impregnating the rice hull with a phenol resin, and then carbonizing in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at high temperatures. The RHs carbon has the natural porous structure that is originated from the natural structure of the rice hull. since the RHs carbon has excellent frictional properties, it is expected to use as a friction element in a linear motion slider. However, the mechanical properties of the RHs carbon were dispersed largely, and were strongly affected by the making process. In this study, the authors discussed the effects of the impregnation rates of the phenol resin, and obtained the optimal impregnation rate to achieve the low dispersion in the mechanical properties. The research study is located in semarang with 10 samples of ground water gathered from dug wells. Cluster analysis and principal component analysis of ground water data is used to find water quality. The findings show lead concentration, cadmium concentration, and TDs in the water have surpassed the standard by the rules of Indonesian Health Ministry Year 2010. Those surpassing concentrations make water not suitable to consume because it will have impact on health, such as: inducting injuries through oxidative stress, epigenetic changes in DNA expression, central nerve, hematopoietic, incurable liver and kidney failures. Cluster analysis shows 7 locations are included into first cluster meanwhile three other locations are included into second, third, and fourth. From factorial analysis of four main factors, such as manganese, nitrate, zinc, and cadmium. Those factors are assumed to pollute because anthropogenic factors, such as: industrial, domestic, and agriculture waste causing lowering water quality. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. In this study, we presented the defect identification analysis based on the level-set type topology optimization using hammering testing data. To simulate the oscillation behavior of concrete structure, the equation of motion in three dimensions is introduced as the governing equation. The performance function is defied by the time integral of the squared residual between the computed and observed displacements. The problem is to find the defect topologies so as to minimize the performance function. In the model with a small number of observation points, it was found that nonexistent defects disappeared by using the weighted sensitivity method. In addition, it was confirmed that the model with a large number of observation points did not show the same tendency as the model with a small number of observation points because the accuracy of defect identification increased as the number of observation points increased. © 2023

We have carried out experimental and numerical analyses for reconstruction of permittivity distribution using a pair of long distance small size electrodes and additional arc electrodes. A reconstruction method for permittivity distribution that uses a genetic algorithm and numerical analysis (finite element method) based on measured capacitance has been proposed and investigated. However, the conventional method had a problem in accuracy. In this paper, the reconstruction method has been improved by using a Parameter-free Genetic Algorithm(PfGA) based on measured capacitance and electric potential. In addition, we have evaluated the fitness function with PfGA. © 2016 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

This research aims to build a mathematical model to formulate the problems of implementing knowledge management systems in companies that often face obstacles in achieving the desired objectives and goals. With increasing competition in the business sector, organizations or organizations realize the importance of utilizing the knowledge assets that reside in each individual and organization. If this knowledge can be managed optimally, it can become a competitive advantage for the company due to the emergence of innovative ideas by the concepts of knowledge management theory. By implementing optimal knowledge management (KM), companies can design innovative solutions to improve business operations and increase overall revenue. The factor analysis method will be used to find the determining factors for the success of the implementation of knowledge management systems (KMs) and the regression analysis method will also be used to form a mathematical model of several new factors which are formed as independent variables with the current level of community understanding of KMs as the dependent variable. The research results provide insight into strategies to improve success factors to successfully facilitate KMs implementation. This study contributes to existing knowledge management by providing insight into dynamics that go beyond the technical aspects of KMs, ultimately developing strategies for more effective and efficient utilization of knowledge and organizational growth and supporting competitive advantage for companies.

An integrated device capable of generating large number of multiplexed optical vortex beams with arbitrary topological charges is considered as one of the crucial requirement for driving information photonics forward. Here we report a simple method for simultaneous generation of 100 multiplexed optical vortex beams from a polymer film of size 1mm2 and thickness of 30µm. This is achieved through a combination of computer generated holography, digital hologram printing and photoisomeric polymers. When the fabricated sample is illuminated with a collimated laser beam, a pre-determined vortex array with arbitrary topological charge is emitted. The polymer film easy to synthesise and exhibits good diffraction efficiency and long retention time. © 2021, CC BY.

From 1960 to 1980 he served in the U.S. Navy as a surface line officer and in various capacities as an Engineering Duty Officel including Naval Ship Engineering Center Ship Design Manager for PHM and Continuing CV Conceptual Design NAVSEA PMS 378 Program Manager/SUPSHIP Newport News Project Officerf or VIRGINIA (CCN 38) Class construction and Force Maintenance Officel Commander Naval Surface Force U S. Atlantic Fleet. He retired from the Nay in 1980 with the rank of Commander Dr Reese graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy and holds the degrees of Master of Science (Mechanical Engineering) Naval Engineel: and Doctor of Philosophy from M.I. 7: He is a member ofASNE SNAME and Tau Beta Pi.

For the first time in a top-level requirements document-the Land Attack Destroyer (DD 21) Operational Requirements Document (ORD)-the U.s. Navy has implemented performance requirements that relate ship vulnerability to threat weapon types and the level of mission capability remaining after a ship is hit. The Navy's ship Operational Characteristics study recommended an operational survivability standard of this type in 1988. It is needed to define clearly to the designer the levels of operational capability that must remain after a ship is hit, and to let decision makers know what to expect from ships they are buying. It also is needed to provide a benchmark against which the results of Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) can be compared. This paper discusses various approaches for formulating operationally oriented vulnerability requirements (OOVRs), a way to balance OOVRs with susceptibility requirements, and how OOVRs can be implemented at the ship design level. The paper also discusses possible concerns associated with implementing OOVRs, and how they can be resolved. It recommends that OOVRs be implemented for each new U.s. Navy combatant ship acquisition program, including submarines.
