IETF(Internet engineering Task Force) proposed the management mechanism of NEMO (network mobility) to support network mobility. The mobility management of NEMO is an extension of mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), and it inherits also all the drawbacks of MIPv6 such as inefficient routing, high handover latency, packet loss rate, and so on. The purpose of method which is based on the public transportations (e.g. Train, MRT, Bus etc.) with fixed path as NEMO application solved the handover latency problem and packet lost problem. We propose a seamless handover scheme with pre-registration to solve these problems. The proposed handover scheme can decrease handover latency and packet lost in session for NEMO. The aim is to procure seamless communication when the whole network is movement.

In the past, gearboxes were used in wind turbines to adjust the rotor rotational speed. With advancements in the technology of wind turbines, wind farm developers adopt direct-drive wind turbines based on permanent magnet synchronous generators. In the power quality analysis in wind farms, the wind turbine model is used to simulate the electrical characteristics of wind turbines to meet regulatory requirements. However, it takes considerable time for a detailed analysis and assessment of wind turbine models in the early stages of large wind farms. Therefore, based on direct-drive wind turbines, we used power systems computer aided design (PsCAD) to construct several wind turbine units (sWTU) and scale component models (sCM). The model’s performance was explored regarding tip speed ratio, pitch angle, and output power at different wind speeds. The practicality and performance of aggregated models were evaluated effectively in power system analysis.

This paper mentions an approach which composes melodies reflecting user's feelings by interactive genetic algorithms. One melody corresponds to a chromosome containing the information such as tone color, tune, the number of notes and the length of notes. Melodies are composed by the use of GA operations. A user listens to presented melodies and evaluates them whether they fit with his/her image of the melody or not. This evaluation process is performed not by objective fitness functions but by humans. Therefore, this approach uses the interactive GA. The chromosome with the best evaluation is chosen as an elite. Elite characteristics are inherited to chromosomes in the next generation. These procedures are repeated until the user finds a melody fitting with the image of the melody. Experiments are carried out in order to confirm the usefulness of the presented approach. The experimental results show that the presented approach composes melodies reflecting user's feelings. © 2000 IEEE.

The cardiac muscle is elastic and deformable. Pushing a catheter in contact with the cardiac muscle surface to conduct focal energy-based ablative therapies, such as RF ablation, requires an adequate electrode-tissue contact surface to transfer the energy to the target site. In this regard, the relationship between the contact force (CF) and the resulting mechanical response is still unclear, in particular, the insertion depth (ID) and the diameter of the surface deformation. The objective of this study was to quantify these relationships using an ex vivo model and a computational model. A rigid bar with a 2.3 mm diameter blunt tip (mimicking a 7Fr standard ablation catheter) was placed at a perpendicular orientation on a fragment of the porcine heart. CF values ranged from 10 to 80g. We used ANsYs to build a Mooney-Rivlig model of 3 parameters based on hyperelastic material and to simulate the same conditions as in the experiments. In real world applications of multiclass classification models, misclassification in an important class (e.g., stop sign) can be significantly more harmful than in other classes (e.g., no parking). Thus, it is crucial to improve the recall of an important class while maintaining overall accuracy. For this problem, we found that improving the separation of important classes relative to other classes in the feature space is effective. Existing methods that give a class-sensitive penalty for cross-entropy loss do not improve the separation. Moreover, the methods designed to improve separations between all classes are unsuitable for our purpose because they do not consider the important classes. To achieve the separation, we propose a loss function that explicitly gives loss for the feature space, called class-sensitive additive angular margin (CAMRI) loss. CAMRI loss is expected to reduce the variance of an important class due to the addition of a penalty to the angle between the important class features and the corresponding weight vectors in the feature space. In addition, concentrating the penalty on only the important class hardly sacrifices separating the other classes. Experiments on CIFAR-10, GTsRB, and AwA2 showed that CAMRI loss could improve the recall of a specific class without sacrificing accuracy. In particular, compared with GTsRB's second-worst class recall when trained with cross-entropy loss, CAMRI loss improved recall by 9%. © 2023 The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.

The focus of this study was to investigate the wide use of Eucalyptus spp.,an exotic plant with high allelopathic ability,in the reforestation programs of urban parks in são Paulo City,Brazil,over the last *** understand the implications of using Eucalyptus *** the city’s parks,this study aimed to compare nutrient cycling and litter decomposition between a mixed composition of litter(i.e.,native and exotic species)and the litter of a single species(i.e.,Eucalyptus).To accomplish this,newly deciduous leaves were collected from two native and two exotic species that are commonly used in the afforestation of são Paulo as well as from Eucalyptus *** mixed composition of litter yielded a higher dry mass loss and return of macro-and micronutrients to the forest *** decomposition constant(k)values were 0.00322 and 0.00207 g g^(−1) day^(−1) for the mixed composition and Eucalyptus spp.,*** time required for decomposition of 50 and 95%of deciduous material was 215 and 931 days,respectively,and for the mixed litterfall 334 and 1449 days,respectively,for Eucalyptus ***,the mixed litter exhibited greater dry mass loss and nutrient cycling in an urban forest of são Paulo City,since dry mass losses as well as speed and amount of nutrients returned to the forest floor were relatively higher compared to Eucalyptus *** cycling via Eucalyptus *** was less efficient than mixed composition of litter,demonstrating that reforestation programs carried out in the twentieth century using only one species may have had little *** results of this work emphasize the fact that in urban reforestation programs the City of são Paulo must consider the environmental and biogeographic characteristics of the species employed and use high levels of biodiversity,since the city lies in a megadiverse biome.

Defects in gastric progenitor cell differentiation are associated with various gastric disorders, including atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia, and gastric cancer. However, the mechanisms underlying the multilineage differentiation of gastric progenitor cells during healthy homeostasis remain poorly understood. Here, using a single-cell RNA sequencing method, Quartz-seq2, we analyzed the gene expression dynamics of progenitor cell differentiation toward pit cell, neck cell, and parietal cell lineages in healthy adult mouse corpus tissues. Enrichment analysis of pseudotime-dependent genes and a gastric organoid assay revealed that EGFR-ERK signaling promotes pit cell differentiation, whereas NF-κB signaling maintains gastric progenitor cells in an undifferentiated state. In addition, pharmacological inhibition of EGFR in vivo resulted in a decreased number of pit cells. Although activation of EGFR signaling in gastric progenitor cells has been suggested as one of the major inducers of gastric cancers, our findings unexpectedly identified that EGFR signaling exerts a differentiation-promoting function, not a mitogenic function, in normal gastric homeostasis.

surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (sERs) has been widely utilized for the detection of disease biomarkers, pesticides, and environmental pollutants due to its exceptional sensitivity, real-time responsiveness, and unique interactions between adsorbates and substrates. Here, we present a composite metal/semiconductor material comprising TiO2sub> nanosphere substrates integrated with in-situ-grown Au or Ag nanoparticles (NMNPs@TiO2sub>). These composite nanospheres are assembled by an electrophoretic self-assembly process to form a photonic crystal structure with three-dimensionally ordered periodic geometric features and show remarkable sensitivity and stability for sERs detection, achieving a detection limit as low as 10-9sup> M for Rhodamine 6G. Beyond merely enhancing sERs signals by generating uniformly distributed metal plasmonic “hot spots” on TiO2sub> substrates, similar to traditional semiconductor substrates, this photonic crystal substrate also exhibits advanced light absorption and localization capabilities. The absorbed light drives the defect excitation of TiO2sub>, facilitated by its multicrystalline structure. Excited electrons from the TiO2sub> nanospheres contribute to the enhancement of localized surface plasmon resonance through charge transfer to noble-metal nanoparticles. Additionally, the synthesis of NMNPs@TiO2sub> nanospheres avoids the use of toxic reagents, and substrate assembly is achieved through a simple electrodeposition process. This approach simplifies fabrication while enabling the production of sERs detectors with exceptional spatial and temporal signal stability. With increasing demands for higher detection sensitivity, signal uniformity, and detector durability for sERs detection applications, the NMNPs@TiO2sub> nanosphere-based photonic crystal substrate underscores its potential to significantly improve the sERs detection efficiency, making it ideal for ultrasensitive che

As one of the systems to recognize the cursive handwritten English connected character sequence, Imagawa et al. proposed a system with the selective attention mechanism. The system of Imagawa et al., however, does not have a very high recognition ability. It is a relatively small-scale system, where the character category to be recognized is composed of 5 characters. This study extends the recognition system proposed by Imagawa et, al., and a system with a higher recognition ability is constructed. One of the authors notes that a part of the ''model for selective attention'' is similar to the pattern recognition system ''neocognitron.'' With respect to the neocognitron, it is reported that the recognition ability is improved by introducing the bend detection circuit. Consequently, the authors constructed a system, where the bend processing circuit is introduced into the system by Imagawa et al. Various test patterns are given to the constructed system, and it is verified by executing a computer simulation that the proposed system is effective in the recognition of the handwritten connected character sequence.

The control of a nonlinear system where the characteristics are changing is difficult. In order to control the system, a study is needed to model during the execution and control. In this paper, a new evolutionary control method is proposed that combines the evolutionary modeling by on-line GA and predictive fuzzy control. This control method is applied to the control of inverted pendulum where characteristics are modified actively to the external factor. The effectiveness of this control method has been confirmed.
