IETF(Internet engineering Task Force) proposed the management mechanism of NEMO (network mobility) to support network mobility. The mobility management of NEMO is an extension of mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), and it inherits also all the drawbacks of MIPv6 such as inefficient routing, high handover latency, packet loss rate, and so on. The purpose of method which is based on the public transportations (e.g. Train, MRT, Bus etc.) with fixed path as NEMO application solved the handover latency problem and packet lost problem. We propose a seamless handover scheme with pre-registration to solve these problems. The proposed handover scheme can decrease handover latency and packet lost in session for NEMO. The aim is to procure seamless communication when the whole network is movement.

作者： Lown, Maris “All happy families resemble one another each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” Students' stories are reminiscent of these opening lines from Tolstoy's Anna Karenina. Although happy stories offer common threads of success motivation and hard work unhappy stories differ in their own way. Students' stories continue to shock and confound me particularly the ones that reflect a lack of ethical behavior. Recently a student used her access code to visit a friend on a psychiatric unit initiating a chain of events with far-reaching repercussions—ones that could follow her throughout her career. Another student returned to see a patient after her clinical hours informing him that she could heal him with “white wicken”—creating difficult issues within the unit. In yet another instance of a lack of ethical judgment a student accessed the record of a patient who was a neighbor of his reporting that he was “curious” and wanted to know more about her then offering a diagnosis that was dissonant from the physician's determination—compromising the patient–physician relationship. We continually exhort students to perform in a manner that reflects the highest ethical ideals ([Begley and Wong 2001] [Butcher 2005] and [Thornton 2009]). Although the complexity of our world can no longer be completely defined through absolute rules and incontrovertible maxims nurses must subscribe to a basic set of moral standards that are transparent and immutable. Ethics speaks to a higher cause and addresses our search for answers to basic questions such as who we are and how we came to be. Ethical practice evokes a discussion of what constitutes actions that are right and just actions that are not just legal but that contribute to better outcomes and a better society. It springs from the notion that good ethical behavior supports a common good and a common goal (Ciulla 2003). Teaching engineering and technology subjects involves conveying understanding of abstract information structures and processes such as complex telecommunications protocols, complex mathematical concepts, and data structures. These are multidimensional and can be difficult to grasp quickly. supported by a Hewlett-Packard (HP) Technology for Teaching grant, the school of engineering and Technology at National University has embarked on a project to enable students to grasp these complex concepts more quickly and easily, using continuous dialog among students and instructors as the structures are first introduced and then examined from multiple perspectives through real-time interaction among students, small groups, and instructors. HP Wireless Tablet PCs are used to discuss and experiment with diagrams and processes in realtime. This allows combining lectures and problem-solving sessions into a single class session. Our hypothesis is that: 1) an in-depth learning of theory is accomplished, and 2) student engagement is enhanced. Presentation of theory by the instructor is integrated with application while the theory is still in the student's short-term memory. students no longer have to wait for a separate session such as a recitation session to apply the concepts. This approach often takes less time. In addition to accelerating the learning process, expert instructors find this approach more rewarding as students grasp new concepts more quickly. Analysis of data captured from both students and instructors are presented to support our hypotheses, and our results are compared with similar research carried out by other universities. In addition, the level of interaction enabled by the use of HP Tablets in on-line classes is discussed. The best teaching tools available in existing on-line teaching platforms are compared with the additional tools available in on-site courses when every student has a wireless Tablet PC and specific recommendations are made to on-line teachi

Locality data available for many, if not most, species of Neotropical frogs are based on written descriptions of the collecting sites, not on GPs device determined coordinate data. The pre-GPs device data are imprecise relative to GPs data. Niche modeling is a powerful technique for predicting geographic distributions that provides the best results when the locality data are precise. The purpose of this study is to determine whether imprecise historical locality data are sufficient such that niche modeling techniques can yield realistic new insights to species-level distributions. Two sets of frogs of the genus Leptodactylus that have known different kinds of distributions are evaluated: two species with broad, presumably continuous distributions, and four species known to occur in patchy, disjunct habitats in south America. BIOCLIM, a presence-only environmental niche modeling algorithm,was used to define suitable occupancy areas based on multiple sets of environmental parameters that include: monthly mean, max, and min temperatures, and monthly precipitation. A Nature Conservancy — Natureserve ecoregion layer and a high resolution elevation layer were also included in the analyses. Our analyses yield new realistic insights and questions regarding distributions of the Leptodactylus species we evaluated. We recommend incorporation of the Nature Conservancy — Natureserve layer to evaluate Neotropical distributions, as the layer gave much more robust results than use of only the climatic variable analyses.

This paper investigates passivity based 3D dynamic visual force feedback control for fixed camera systems. In our approach, we can control not only the position but also the orientation of the robot hand with a contact force by using visual information. The proposed method can be regarded as an extension of the hybrid position/force control to the hybrid vision/force control. The main contribution of this paper is to show that the 3D dynamic visual force feedback system has the passivity which allows us to prove stability in the sense of Lyapunov. Both the passivity of the manipulator dynamics and the passivity of the visual feedback system are preserved. Finally simulation results on 3 DOF planar manipulator are presented to verify the stability of the 3D dynamic visual force feedback system and understand our proposed method simply.

Naphthapsilas price forecasting using Neuro-fuzzy system is a forecasting technique that applied information technology with statistics. 1950 daily prices were collected as a time-series data with trend component. The research found that Neuro-Fuzzy system is more accurate and more reliable than a statistical method; it also works well with continuous data and performs better with more training data. Neuro-Fuzzy system might be used with different data type, but, it might come across with other factors, e.g. seasonal or irregular event. The research also illustrates the multidisciplinary nature in todaypsilas world of works in the era of merging among many disciplines.

In order to assist driver's vision, a real-time recognition system for traffic signs is proposed. After detecting sign candidates, biologically inspired opponent-color filters are used to extract symbol parts of signs. After normalizing the size of symbol, structural features are calculated to identify the sign. 5572 segmented images are used to design the algorithm. In a real-time system, the same sign in a sequence of frames is tracked, and a majority vote is used to integrate the recognition results. For test data, 93.8% recall rate and 99.3% precision rate could be attained. In-vehicle experiment also showed high recall and precision rates.

In this paper, we propose a method for generating a metadata space of associations between words from an index of a book dealing with a specific field of interest. In order to implement a search mechanism using a mathematical model of meaning that deals with a specific field of interest, it is necessary to generate a search space called a metadata space dealing with the field of interest. In the past, the metadata space has been generated by using a terminology dictionary and a highly specialized knowledge base. Also, it is difficult to generate the metadata space if there is no terminology dictionary that deals with the field of interest. The proposed method does not require a terminology dictionary, and it allows the generation of the metadata space without a highly specialized knowledge base. Further, by applying this metadata space generation method to a mathematical model of meaning, a search mechanism based on the associations between words in the search target data, such as documents and media data, in the specific field of interest can be implemented. In this paper, taking examples from the IT field, the effectiveness of the method is verified by comparing the use of a metadata space generated from a terminology dictionary and the use of a metadata space generated from an index to search graphic media data. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Including concepts of entrepreneurship in an engineering education is nothing new. It would be difficult to find a university that does not offer several courses or specific programs in entrepreneurship. However, finding large numbers of engineering programs that have fully incorporated entrepreneurship into their undergraduate engineering curricula is a far greater challenge. With the growth of outsourcing and global competition, it is imperative that engineering faculty be more than just educators of technically competent engineers. It is important that they be educators of entrepreneurs. This paper will describe a workshop that took initial steps to convince engineering faculty of the importance of educating engineering entrepreneurs and integrating entrepreneurship into an engineering curriculum. It will describe the workshop agenda, the assessment process used to measure if there was a change in faculty attitude, and the preliminary assessment results. © American society for engineering Education, 2007.
