In a government institution many official letters are made daily, the letters have an official format in the Tanggal, No. Surat, Lampiran dan Hal. area, with an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) scanner an official letter can be digitized and processed to obtain characters that will be used as searches, but in fact in certain desired parts there are often handwriting, a method of pattern recognition is needed to recognize the handwriting. The process in this study including of normalization, segmentation and pattern recognition from labels in the Tanggal, No. Surat, Lampiran dan Hal. area,this system will generate output in text form, the output text is result that will use as a term in the process of the Information Retrieval System, so the search for an official letter will be easy to do. This study is only makes the framework design for the next research authors will explain the detail of process and results obtained. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd. All rights reserved.

Recently, the number of people who have trouble sleeping is on the rise. It results in an increase in the number of car accidents, lower productivity and a higher risk of chronic disease. Advancing wearable and contactless health sensors offers the possibility of daily sleep quality monitoring that can be done on a regular basis by patients in their homes. The goal of this research is to propose the design of an Internet-of-Things (IoT) sleep quality monitoring system that can be integrated with a wearable or contactless sensor. The proposed platform architecture is based on micro-services and is event-driven. The simulation results show that the implementation of the IoT sleep quality monitoring system based on the proposed design decreases the response time by 55.85 per cent while increasing the throughput by 34.76 per cent compared to the traditional approach. On the other hand, the rate of increase in memory usage per instance replication for proposed method is lower than the traditional method.

Air pollution makes it worse in populated regions. Indonesia's major cities are also impacted by air pollution. Due to rising traffic, material consumption by vehicles, industrial growth, land burning, and garbage collection, air quality has altered significantly. Accurate measurement and classification of air quality are required. Results of accurate classification aid in forming governmental regulations. To reach the criteria for livable air quality, we intend to manage controls. Some of the characteristics of air pollution include particulate (PM10) or PM25, sulfides (in the form of SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O3), and nitrites (NO2). Using the XGBoost algorithm and synthetic minority oversampling (SMOTE) methods based on the Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU) category, this study seeks to uncover factors that affect air quality. XGBoost, an ensemble machine learning approach built on a decision tree and applying a gradient reinforcement framework, is the classification algorithm in use. Air quality categorization has been tested and shown to work with the XGBoost algorithm. The dataset used in this study is air quality in 2021 which was collected by the Jakarta Environmental Ministry The proposed classification model will be evaluated using the Repeated k-fold cross-validation method for objective results. The results of the study prove that SMOTE and XGBoost have better performance than using only the XGBoost method in predicting air quality, where the overall accuracy value of SMOTE with XGBoost is 99.60%, The overall precision value is 99.60%, the overall recall value is 99.60% and the overall f1-score is 99.60% and the overall ROC AUC value is 99.96%. The overall SMOTE method with the proposed XGBoost has given better performance in air pollution prediction.

Genomics study, as opposed to socio-anthropology, has been demonstrated as an excellent tool to picture biological relatedness and disease risk factors. To analyze the data obtained from the study, Genome-wide Association Study (GWAS) has been more than decades known as the mainstay approach., is the most popular approach in analysing genomics data. The confounding variables selection, being that ancestry estimation or population stratification, is substantial to maintain the quality of GWAS. Researchers have developed various methods in extracting the population stratification information from high dimensional genomics data, especially Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) data. In the present study, we proposed an implementation of Principal Component Analysis (PCA)-complemented Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) as an unsupervised model to estimate population stratification from samples. The results derived from this approach was further compared to that resulted from K-means and from the commonly used ancestry estimation software, fast STRUCTURE. We figured out that our recent improved approach outperformed the two later mentioned as shown by the average cluster and population scores. Furthermore, it was able to generate the probability distribution of each sample across all population, despite its limited quality. These intriguing results worth further investigations with much more comprehensive population coverage and more advanced algorithm.

The Mekong River Basin (MRB) is crucial for the livelihoods of over 60 million people across six Southeast Asian countries. Understanding long-term sediment changes is crucial for management and contingency plans, but the sediment concentration data in the MRB are extremely sporadic, making analysis challenging. This study focuses on reconstructing long-term suspended sediment concentration (SSC) data using a novel semi-supervised machine learning (ML) model. The key idea of this approach is to exploit abundant available hydroclimate data to reduce training overfitting rather than solely relying on sediment concentration data, thus enhancing the accuracy of the employed ML models. Extensive experiments on daily hydroclimate and SSC data obtained from 1979 to 2019 at the three main stations (i.e., Chiang Saen, Nong Khai, and Mukdahan) are conducted to demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed method compared to the state-of-the-art supervised techniques (i.e., Random Forest, XGBoost, CatBoost, MLP, CNN, and LSTM), and surpasses existing semi-supervised methods (i.e., CoReg, ⊓ Model, ICT, and Mean Teacher). This approach is the first semi-supervised method to reconstruct sediment data in the field and has the potential for broader application in other river systems. © 2024 The Author(s)

Electroencephalography (EEG) signals are recorded for knowing the electrical activity of the brain from the scalp, and the recorded waveform provides acquits into the dynamic aspects of brain activity. This study incorporates the circuit design and device development to achieve the Electroencephalography signal acquisition front-end circuit design for future Brain-computer Interface (BCI) applications. The amplitude of acquired signals should be strong enough and is usually expressed in the unit of millivolts. The data acquisition procedure consists three stages: 1) The acquisition of original EEG signal can be done by the active electrode and an instrumentation amplifier with a smaller gain;2) Improves the signal quality by using band-pass filter and band-stop filter;3) Those EEG signals convert into the digital code through the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that will be integrated into a micro-controller. The digital code is stored into an embedded memory and is further transmitted via the Bluetooth module. The experimental results show that the system could implement the acquisition and storage of the EEG signals efficiently. The size of the printed circuit board (PCB) for the proposed design is smaller than 5.5 cm2. This system would be a benefit to all involved in the use of EEG for clinical diagnosis and monitoring, or even for the braincomputer interface. © 2020 IEEE.

Stock Price Prediction Using LSTM and Search Economics Optimization

Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) has been one of the most popular methods in time-series forecasting. Within the LSTM architecture, there are hyperparameters present that need to be optimized in order to achieve the optimum results. In order to optimize these hyperparameters, a metaheuristic optimization method was used. A metaheuristic algorithm was used as a way to reduce both time and computational complexity. We used the Search Economics algorithm because we found the algorithm quite interesting while being unpopular. The evaluation was carried out by using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) as the primary metric used for the optimization. The dataset being used in this experiment is the stock price of one of the most well-known financial institutes in Indonesia. The SE-Optimized LSTM was able to create a prediction that did not overfit with RMSE of 538.92, which was great compared to the unoptimized LSTM model with RMSE of 661.041 and ARIMA model with RMSE of 2809.015. © 2020. This research is ongoing research into the student learning process which aims to develop artificial intelligence-based technology to calculate essay exam scores automatically, based on the textual proximity of students' answers to the answer key. This research uses an approach based on natural language processing (NLP) and text analysis. Feature extraction was carried out using the BERT model and similarity comparison using the Cosine distance method. Model evaluation was carried out using sensitivity and specificity tests. The model evaluation results show a sensitivity of 98.21%, which means this assessment model is able to detect positive cases well.

Nowadays, schools are trying to insert knowledge and learning about sustainability issues and environmental conservation in the academic context from an early age. It is also observed the use of information technology with new didactic and ludic resources that can encourage elementary and high school students to obtain knowledge about sustainability. To this end, this research presents some results using Educational Robotics, Gestalt, and information technology, which students received from a Brazilian public elementary school. In this study, after attending workshops on sustainability, the students developed robotic resources to help them with sustainability-related knowledge. The resources were tested according to their objectives: a mobile robot that recognizes the food and shows its footprint and a box with gas sensors to identify if food is in consumable condition or should be recycled. The experiment was very successful and is in a continuous application phase.

Channa striata or the striped snakehead fish is one of snakehead fish species which inhabits all types of freshwater bodies distributed across Asian countries. Because this fish is known to have higher albumin fraction (64.61%) of protein and other economic values, domestication, and cultivation of this fish has been done in many Asian countries such as Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and India. Environmental factors such as temperature, water pH, dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids, and turbidity are important parameters must be considered inbreeding and growing this type of fish. The aim of this paper is to propose an IoT solution to automatically monitor these environmental factors. It is designed with affordable and open-source electrical components to provide a cost-efficient solution for farmers. Five sensors are used to measure each parameter. A web application prototype is also presented as a companion application for the users to get useful information from the IoT device. It is developed using a Pythonframework. By accessing this web application, the users can immediately detect any abnormal conditions of the pond. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
