The aim of this study is to propose innovative three-dimensional channel-based and scene-based measurement techniques for spatial sound fields, based on two-dimensional measurement and analysis, which can be used for measurement and analysis of important acoustic parameters in concert halls with more than 1,000 seats. The results were compared with actual reverberation time 60 (RT 60 ) and early decay time (EDT) measurements obtained on site in 2006, with differences between the methods proposed in this study and on-site measurements ranging from 0.2 s~0.4 s. Scene-based results were closest, with an average error of only 0.027 s. The error decreased as the frequency increased, reaching a minimum of 0.004 s. In addition, scene-based measurement not only simplifies the complex and tedious measurement processes of the past, but also produces more diverse spatial parameters for a comprehensive understanding of the acoustic characteristics of a space, which designers can quickly grasp and which can be used as references for optimization and improvement.

This study responds to the urgent global imperative to address climate change by shifting towards sustainable practices, with a particular focus on mitigating the environmental impact of plastic waste. We delve into the gasification of municipal plastic solid waste as an alternative to traditional disposal methods like incineration or landfilling. The 2 stroke single cylinder (63 cc) engine of 750 watt electric generator is very popular in the application because providing enough amount of electricity for small house hold with compact size, light weight with reasonable price. Usually this type of electric generator is fuelled with gasoline that mixed with oil as lubricant. The cylinder volume of the engine is usually around 63 cc. This type of engine can be fuelled with biogas with addition component to mix biogas together with air and lubricant, and set the compression pressure at 10 bar. Biogas mainly contain methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2), moisture (H2O), and hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The CH4 is combustible gas and can be used as a fuel for internal combustion engine. Moisture and H2S are easily removed from biogas. To remove CO2 from biogas is about difficult and costly, therefore acceptable content of CO2 in the biogas should be investigate related with the fuel consumption. This research is conducted to understand the influent of ratio CH4 and CO2 in the biogas to fuel consumption of the 2 stroke single cylinder engine of 750 watt electric generator. The variations ratio of CH4 and CO2 were obtained from anaerobic digester with batch system. The results indicate that the CH4 and CO2 ration in the range 1.667-1.967 will yield optimum efficiency that reach biogas consumption in the range of 9.1-9.8 liter/minute. © 2021 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

The widespread implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in various industries, including healthcare, provides significant benefits but raises concerns. Notably, apprehensions about AI generating issues, experiencing malfunctions, and hindering work extend to fears of replacing medical professional positions. This research aims to quantitatively assess the impact of anxiety forms, specifically social, technical blindness and AI configuration, on job replacement anxiety among medical doctors. A pre-test approach was employed to gather data from 38 doctors in Jakarta who regularly interact with AI in their daily work. The study used PLS-SEM structural modelling with SmartPLS 3.0 as the analysis tool. Findings indicate that both social and technical blindness and AI configuration significantly influence job replacement anxiety. Additionally, the study reveals that elements within the AI configuration interact with social-technical blindness, and the AI setup effectively mitigates its impact on job replacement anxiety. These anxieties notably affect medical professionals' fears of being replaced in their current roles. Previous research shows that anxiety about AI among healthcare personnel is persistent. However, this worry can be reduced or eliminated through continuous awareness, education, and understanding of AI's purpose and limitations. This study aims to provide medical practitioners with a comprehensive understanding of AI constraints and the aspects requiring direct doctor involvement. © 2024 IEEE.

Crawler cranes are used in various applications, including plant construction and civil engineering. However, accidents caused by hazardous events, such as overturning the entire body or overshadowing of a suspended load, can be problematic. Because crawler cranes are large and powerful machines, simulators are required to analyze the relationship between such hazardous events and human operations. This study proposed a framework for a mixed-reality simulator to analyze the interactions between humans and crawler cranes. This framework combined the high-performance graphics capabilities of Unreal Engine 5 with the high-precision multibody dynamics analysis of MATLAB Simscape to create a visually and physically realistic simulation. Moreover, the quantification of the decision-making process was possible based on the eye-tracking information of the operator. This study described the implementation of these features and discussed the prospects for human-crawler crane interaction analysis using this simulator.

This study explores the impact of halal labels on the purchase interest of foreign Muslim consumers in Taiwan, focusing on packaged ice cream. A total of 92 respondents from 11 different nationalities participated in the survey, providing insights into how halal certification influences consumer behavior in a non-Muslim majority country. The heat pipe solar water heater utilizes an evaporator to capture heat which is then used to heat water in the condenser section. The greater the heat that is able to be absorbed on the evaporator, can improve the overall performance of the solar water heater. Fins are added to the evaporator to increase the heat absorption area, but the shape of the fins can also affect the amount of heat absorbed. This research was conducted to determine the effect of fin shape on heat absorption in the evaporator section. Fins on the evaporator are made in a circular and flat shape with a width of 43 mm, a length of 516 mm for a flat fin and a diameter of 43 mm totaling 50 for a circular fin. From the test results it was found that the circular fin can reduce thermal resistance 43.48% greater than the flat fin and 9.89% of the solar water heater heat pipe without fins. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This study centers its attention on communication among ALS patients with severe symptoms, which is essential to daily life and the part that remains a difficulty. Also, communication is important to promote social participation and ability of independence. To promote social participation and improve the ability of independence without the restrictions for patients, the purpose of this study is to develop a wearable interface that enables communication based on the patient's voluntary intent, without temporal, spatial, or physical restrictions, and to confirm the feasibility of intention transmission using a new text entry algorithm. The developed interface utilized a see-through type head-mounted display (HMD) with a gaze estimation sensor to enable patients themselves to transition between cyberspace and physical space and to communicate by the system without restrictions of posture or usage environment during daily life activities. The letter selection is triggered by a change in the direction of the gaze trajectory. This method of letter selection reduces the burden on the user by avoiding the effects of dwell time and other factors associated with gazing input. The key layout for text input UI considers the characteristics of human eye movements, to minimize key selection errors and allows for quick viewpoint movement. To confirm the feasibility of the basic performance, we conducted the experiment with three able-bodied participants using the developed system and a conventional system as a comparison system, respectively. As a result, the developed system was able to input sentences in the same amount of time as the conventional system. The results show that the developed system has the basic performance of a communication interface with a new character input method based on eye movement functions. Therefore, we confirmed the feasibility of transmitting intention using a new text entry algorithm to enable communication without the restrictions.

Strawberry production is an important crop in the northern region of Thailand that is only available in winter. Theoretically, strawberries can be grown in plant factories that can control the climate conditions strawberries need. Generally, the cooling load from lighting accounts for almost 80% of the total heat load in the plant factory. To reduce the cost of using light energy and the heat load in plant factories, this study was conducted on cultivation methods in semi-closed greenhouses that utilize natural light during the day. Coolness is generated by solar energy during the day and stored in cooling energy storage that stored coolness is used during the night. The total cooling load for year-round strawberry cultivation in the greenhouse was about 814 GJ, consisting of the stages of strawberry floral initiation, flowering, and fruiting at 17%, 17%, and 66%, respectively. In addition, the payback period is around 14.16 - 16.29 years.

An immobilized hydrogen-producing consortium investigated biohydrogen production from food waste using a combination of sodium alginate and cassava rhizome biochar. We investigated the effect of varying the biochar concentration from 0 to 3% and the size of immobilized cells from 1 to 7 mm. Immobilized cells were prepared using 50% (v/v) enriched hydrogen-producing consortium, 2% (w/v) sodium alginate, and 0 to 3% (w/v) cassava rhizome biochar. The optimal conditions for achieving the highest hydrogen production in the batch fermentation reactor were identified as a biochar concentration of 2% (w/v) and an immobilized cell size of 2 mm. The highest hydrogen yield, maximum hydrogen production rate, and lag time recorded were 0.69 mmol H2/g-COD, 0.02 mmol H2/g-COD.h, and 41.51 h, respectively. This research highlights the potential of cassava biochar technology for efficient biohydrogen production from food waste, contributing to renewable energy generation and sustainable waste management. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.
