The waste bank is an alternative waste management in Indonesia. The waste Bank in Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta is one of the waste banks that has been established and is active until now. The method used to determine the generation and composition of waste is SNI 19-3964-1994. In addition, research data are obtained by observing and interviewing directly in the field, then analyzed by quantitative descriptive. The results showed the average rate of waste generation in Gunung Kidul Regency was 0.48 kg / person / day. The highest composition of waste in Gunung Kidul Regency is organic waste, which is 77.61%, while non-organic waste is 22.39%. At present, the Waste Bank in Gunung Kidul Regency is able to reduce waste by 0.86% with a total of 6,423 m3 / year reduced waste. The benefits of the existence of a waste bank, among others, are in the field of waste management, in terms of economic and social aspects. The potential for waste recycling is 17.49% from 22.39% of the total non-organic waste. © The Authors, published by EDP sciences, 2020.

The proportion of China’s 65-year-old population has increased year by year. As we enter old age, people’s average life expectancy increases year by year. The risk of disease in the elderly population increases. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Taiwan, most people over the age of 65 suffer from cancer and heart disease. Pneumonia, cerebrovascular disease, and diabetes. With medical advancement, more and more disease characteristics can be found in medical imaging. With the development of technology, the higher the resolution of the image, the more information that can be contained, and the doctor will spend more time marking and diagnosing. There is currently no open imaging training and recognition platform for users to use, so this study uses deep learning CNN technology to construct an image analysis and recognition platform with analysis and recognition interface. In the future, retraining and batch identification capabilities can be added to complete the integrity of the platform. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Chloride molten salts are increasingly used in pyroprocessing techniques for the separation of lanthanides. Understanding thermodynamic properties of these salts is essential to predict their critical characteristics and optimize the separation process. Several thermodynamic models, including the associate model, the two-sublattice ionic model, and the modified quasichemical model with quadruplet approximation (MQMQA), have been utilized in the literature to capture the complexity of molten salts. In the present work, the Bayes factor is used to guide the model selection process for thermodynamic modeling of the KCl-LaCl3 system and provide statistical comparison of various models. The results indicate that the MQMQA model is the most favorable one based on available data. The LiCl-KCl-LaCl3 system has been further modelled with uncertainty quantification (UQ) using MQMQA with the thermodynamic properties of compounds in KCl-LaCl3 predicted by the quasiharmonic approach in terms of first-principles phonon calculations as a function of temperature. The calculated phase stability shows excellent agreement with experimental data, indicating that an appropriate thermodynamic model is important for accurately predicting critical characteristics of complex molten salts. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

Gumelem village is one of the slums in the Pemalang Regency, Central Java Province. The area has characteristics such as high population density, the narrowness of the neighborhood road, the location of houses that coincide, the narrow house, and the house is inhabited by several families and does not have a private toilet. The formation of slums is an obstacle in regional development;for this, it is necessary to arrange the area. This study uses the Participatory Research Appraisal (PRA) method to ensure the active involvement of the target group community and place the community as a subject in the activation process. The research results show that social strengthening efforts in the community and government agencies in the management of the slum areas of Gumelem are essential to realizing the success of the slum structuring program. © The Authors, published by EDP sciences, 2020.

The effectiveness of domestic wastewater treatment in reducing BOD and COD levels: A literature review

80% of the use of clean water by the community becomes wastewater which must be managed first before being discharged into surface water bodies not to cause disturbances to the water body environment, public health, and environmental aesthetics. This study examines the effectiveness of seven reactors for domestic wastewater treatment in reducing levels of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). These reactors are the Moving Bed Biofilter Reactor (MBBR) with kaldness media, only MBBR, filtration pipes, the addition of papaya seed bio coagulant, Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB), pipes filled with soil, and a combination of filtration and Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR). This research was conducted with a descriptive method of literature review. The results showed that the reactors, respectively, reduced BOD levels by 83.3%; 78.9%; 15.75%; 93%; 36.9%; 76%; and 79%. They were able to reduce COD levels by 84.2%; 80.58%; 16.79%; 93%; 67.8%; 58%; and 68%. The addition of papaya seed bio coagulant is the most effective reactor to reduce BOD and COD because it contains tannin compounds that have effective clotting ability.

In this paper, the design of the control board and human-machine interface for imitation and 3D operation is implemented with the DOBOT arm mechanism. The coordinate array data of glyphs written on the tablet is captured by the CCD camera. The glyph learning and imitation are implemented by the center point and radius estimation algorithms. In addition, the 3D position and operation procedure planned on the computer window interface will also be converted into a tracking coordinate array and procedure control code. They will be transmitted to the ARM chip on the control board via WIFI or USB, for parallel-quadrilateral link calculation and coordinate conversion of the track, to get the motor control command of the robot arm. The automated monitoring system proposed in this paper is the result of completely self-design and development on software, firmware and hardware. Rotational control accuracy of 0.01125 deg/pulse and writing error of less than 0.5 mm can be achieved. © 2019 IEEE.

In this study, we used a compound vision card consisting of Howell's and Thorington's vision card on both sides, and placed a prism or a Maddox 's lens in the left eye of the subjects to establish the subjective measurement technique of heterophoria. When a prism with 6 prism diopters and the base upward was placed in front of the left eye of the subject to look at the front of the compound vision card at 45 cm, it was observed that the Howell vision card was separated into two vision cards. After confirming the relative position of the point of the upper and lower vision cards, the subject move the paddle on the measuring device to make the paddle overlap the point of the upper vision card, judge the left and right directions of the point and read number of the horizontal base line, and then measure the line of sight deviation of the near horizontal heterophoria. In this study, 5 subjects with normal vision were tested with von Graefe, Howell and This innovative device for near distance horizontal esotropia. The test results showed that 85% of the subjects were exotropia, and the difference of the three measurements was within one prism diopter (±1Δ). It is proved that the reliability of the measuring device is excellent. © 2021 IEEE.

Providing more space for non-motorized transportation will change the orientation of how people use the road. The first step of changing the orientation of city development which is car-oriented to people-oriented is how to look at the overall existing road users. Accessibility is the basic part of how an area develops, including on a university development. UI Greenmetric as a parameter of university achieving how it can be called a green campus. Not only designing a good campus, but the 'sustainable' policy also cannot be separated from creating a comfortable environment. The current condition of Diponegoro University's open green space reaches less than 60%, while Undip Tembalang already has a pedestrian lane, but is not utilized properly. The research method uses descriptive analysis of the literature articles on how important the pedestrian path that has been done at other universities. The results show that improving and changing the road design effect. Relating to the comfort of people walk affects how the pedestrian path had used. The official regulations from the university also have an impact on reducing the use of motorized vehicles. Improving accessibility for students to use public transportation and non-motorized transportation could reduce emissions in the campus's environment. © The Authors, published by EDP sciences, 2020.

The existence of aquatic plants has a significant influence on the biota living at wellspring. The osmotic pressure is significant research to understand the adaptation of the environment changing to organism physiology. This research aims to know the Osmotic Work Rate by comparing osmolarity water value to aquatic plant plasma. The research method is the descriptive analysis of laboratory test results. The water sample was taken from the seven locations of the wellspring. Osmotic work rate is taken from comparing the plasma osmolarity value of the aquatic plant to water Osmolarity. Osmotic work rate zero means osmoregulation patterns isosmotic. The osmotic work rate greater than zero implies osmoregulation patterns hyperosmotic regulatory and osmoregulation patterns hypo-osmotic regulatory if the Osmotic work rate is less than zero. The patterns are used from the seven locations of good springs are the same, osmoregulation patterns of Hyperosmotic regulatory to the environment because the plasma osmolarity of water plants is more significant than water osmolarity.

Objective: Evaluating pain in individuals with dementia can be difficult when verbal communication is limited. Vocalization has emerged as a potential avenue for assessments of pain in nonverbal populations. This study aimed to evaluate if physiological assessments of vocalization were correlated with observational assessments of pain during routine blood tests for persons with dementia. Design: A cross-sectional descriptive study. Setting and Participants: Sixty older adults (aged ≥65 years old) with dementia requiring routine finger puncture and peripheral venipuncture for routine blood tests were recruited by purposive sampling from 3 long-term care facilities in Taiwan. Methods: Observational assessments were conducted with the Pain Assessment in Advanced Dementia (PAINAD) instrument;physiological biomarkers of vocalization were assessed with a noninvasive sensing device and microphone (NISDM). Assessments were conducted simultaneously in one session during situations of increasing pain levels: at rest, making a sound, finger puncture, and peripheral venipuncture. PAINAD scores were compared with signal recording measures from the NISDM. Analysis of variance and Pearson correlation coefficient assessed correlations between observational and physiological measures. Results: Most participants were female (63.3%);mean age was 81.27 years (SD = 9.69);Clinical Dementia Rating was 2.23 ± 0.70;and Mini-Mental State Examination was 7.07 ± 6.95. Signal recording measures using the NISDM during finger puncture and venipuncture were significantly greater compared with measures at rest and making sound, indicating higher signal levels were associated with pain. PAINAD scores were significantly correlated with physiological measures for vocalization variables of sound amplitude (r = 0.49, P <.001), shimmer (r = 0.63, P <.001), and inhalation-to-exhalation amplitude ratio (r = 0.48, P <.001).
