Fe2O3 has been the interest of many studies due to its applications in various scientific and industrial fields including in environment, corrosion, soil science, and exhaust emissions. Fe2O3 is a chemical mixture that can be applied as a catalyst to reduce exhaust emissions because it is capable of binding CO and HC contained in motorcycle exhaust gases The growth of motor vehicles results in air pollution and an increase in exhaust emissions consisting of 70.50% CO and 18.34% HC. One effort to reduce exhaust emission levels is by applying a catalytic converter to the exhaust system. This research was an experimental research aiming to investigate the difference in emission level of CO and HC between a motorcycle with and without a catalytic converter. The types of fuel used were RON 88, RON 90, RON 92, and RON 98. The results showed that the application of Fe2O3 as a catalyst could reduce the level of CO significantly in RON 88, i.e. 91.43% CO, and the level of HC in RON 88 and RON 92, i.e. 53.27% and 91.07% HC respectively. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Classical novae are cataclysmic binary star systems in which the matter of a companion star is accreted on a white dwarf1,2. Accumulation of hydrogen in a layer eventually causes a thermonuclear explosion on the surface of the white dwarf3, brightening the white dwarf to ~105 solar luminosities and triggering ejection of the accumulated matter. Novae provide the extreme conditions required to accelerate particles, electrons or protons, to high energies. Here we present the detection of gamma rays by the MAGIC telescopes from the 2021 outburst of RS Ophiuchi, a recurrent nova with a red giant companion, which allowed us to accurately characterize the emission from a nova in the 60 GeV to 250 GeV energy range. The theoretical interpretation of the combined Fermi LAT and MAGIC data suggests that protons are accelerated to hundreds of gigaelectronvolts in the nova shock. Such protons should create bubbles of enhanced cosmic ray density, of the order of 10 pc, from the recurrent *** of the 2021 outburst of the nova RS Oph in very-high-energy gamma rays by the MAGIC telescopes is reported. Investigation of the gamma-ray emission provides evidence for acceleration of protons within the nova shock, which then propagate outwards to create bubbles of enhanced cosmic ray density.

In recent years, the COVID-19 pandemic has become one of the most crucial scientific issues in the world, and efforts to eradicate the disease are still ongoing. The acute inflammatory reaction associated with this disease is associated with several complications such as cytokine storm, multiple organ damage, lung fibrosis, and blood clots. PTX3, as part of the humoral innate immune systems, is one of the acute-phase proteins that perform various functions, such as modulating inflammation, repairing tissue, and recruiting immune cells. PTX3 is increased in people with SARS-CoV-2, and its level decreases with proper treatment. Therefore, it can be regarded as a suitable marker for the prognosis of the COVID-19 and evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment method applied. However, some studies have shown that PTX3 can be a double-edged sword and develop tumors by providing an immunosuppressive environment.

Wireless technology gradual growth in the latest years has facilitated it to bridge its applications operated extensively in many types of industry. Wireless sensor network (WSN) technology brings several benefits over traditional wired technology by reason of the lower cost, immense flexibility escalation, and scalability which is able to be obtained from the old-style one. However, in its application WSN still experience some constraints on resource limitations in the form: processor, memory and energy, and any more challenges that related to availability, reliability and security. Based on its benefits, limitation, and challenges, and also three systematic stages, the review study was performed. The result of study was portrayed in this paper. It is regarding investigation result of hybrid cryptography (HC, as one of defense methods) realized for WSN to methodically increase the security level and decrease the resources usage. The result concluded that HC was proven in escalating the security defense level and downgrading the resources use on WSN compared to symmetric and asymmetric algorithms.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a complex psychiatric disorder that affects the lives of hundreds of millions of individuals around the globe. Even today, researchers debate if morphological alterations in the brain are linked to MDD, likely due to the heterogeneity of this disorder. The application of deep learning tools to neuroimaging data, capable of capturing complex non-linear patterns, has the potential to provide diagnostic and predictive biomarkers for MDD. However, previous attempts to demarcate MDD patients and healthy controls (HC) based on segmented cortical features via linear machine learning approaches have reported low accuracies. In this study, we used globally representative data from the ENIGMA-MDD working group containing 7,012 participants from 30 sites (N=2,772 MDD and N=4,240 HC), which allows a comprehensive analysis with generalizable results. Based on the hypothesis that integration of vertex-wise cortical features can improve classification performance, we evaluated the classification of a DenseNet and a Support Vector Machine (SVM), with the expectation that the former would outperform the latter. As we analyzed a multi-site sample, we additionally applied the ComBat harmonization tool to remove potential nuisance effects of site. We found that both classifiers exhibited close to chance performance (balanced accuracy DenseNet: 51%;SVM: 53%), when estimated on unseen sites. Slightly higher classification performance (balanced accuracy DenseNet: 58%;SVM: 55%) was found when the cross-validation folds contained subjects from all sites, indicating site effect. In conclusion, the integration of vertex-wise morphometric features and the use of the non-linear classifier did not lead to the differentiability between MDD and HC. Our results support the notion that MDD classification on this combination of features and classifiers is unfeasible. The discovery of the electromagnetic counterpart AT2017gfo and the GRB 170817A, associated to the binary neutron star merger GW170817, was one of the major advances in the study of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and the hallmark of the multi-messenger astronomy with gravitational waves. Another breakthrough in GRB physics is represented by the discovery of the highly energetic, teraelectronvolt (TeV) component in the GRB 190114C, possibly an universal component in all GRBs. This conclusion is also suggested by the hint of TeV emission in the short GRB 160821B and a few more events reported in the literature. The missing observational piece is the joint detection of TeV emission and gravitational waves from a short GRB and its progenitor. MAGIC observed the counterpart AT2017gfo as soon as the visibility conditions allowed it, namely from January to June 2018. These observations correspond to the maximum flux level observed in the radio and X-ray bands. In this work, we report multi-band flux variability and correlations of the nearby (z=0.031) blazar Markarian 421 (Mrk 421) using multi-wavelength (MWL) data from November 2014 to June 2016. In this period, Mrk 421 exhibited historically low activity in X-rays and very-high-energy gamma rays (VHE;E>0.1 TeV) and an additional spectral component was observed by Swift-BAT. The highest flux variability occurs in X-rays and VHE which, despite the low activity, show a significant positive correlation with no time lag. The hardness ratios in the X-rays and VHE γ-rays show the "harder-when-brighter" trend observed in many blazars. Interestingly, the trend flattens at the highest fluxes, which suggests different processes dominating the brightest states. Enlarging our data set with data from the years 2007 to 2014, we measured a positive correlation between the optical and GeV emission centered at zero time lag, and a positive correlation between the optical/GeV and the radio emission over a range of about 60 days centered at a time lag of 43+9/-6 days. This observation is consistent with the radio-bright zone being located about 0.2 parsec downstream from the optical/GeV emission regions. In most of the energy bands, the flux distribution follows the Lognormal, rather than the Normal function, indicating that the variability may be dominated by a multiplicative process. © Copyright owned by the author(s).

The first Large Size Telescope (LST-1) of the Cherenkov Telescope Array has been operational since October 2018 at La Palma, Spain. We report on the results obtained during the camera commissioning. The noise level of the readout is determined as a 0.2 p.e. level. The gain of PMTs are well equalized within 2% variation, using the calibration flash system. The effect of the night sky background on the signal readout noise as well as the PMT gain estimation are also well evaluated. Trigger thresholds are optimized for the lowest possible gamma-ray energy threshold and the trigger distribution synchronization has been achieved within 1 ns precision. Automatic rate control realizes the stable observation with 1.5% rate variation over 3 hours. The performance of the novel DAQ system demonstrates a less than 10% dead time for 15 kHz trigger rate even with sophisticated online data correction. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. This paper purposes comparing the view of system builder (expert system) using analitycal hierarchy process (AHP) and view of user (students) using regression method in elearning system STIKes-STMIK Hang Tuah Pekanbaru. This study uses some attributes to analyze and evaluate which affect the acceptance of elearning system success. In AHP, the attributes are categorized as criteria and grouped into some dimensions. These criteria and dimenssions are evaluated by some experts using analitycal hierarchy process (AHP) to assess priorities for elearning system. There are four dimensions, system quality (four criteria), learning information quality (three criteria), service quality (three criteria) and service support (three criteria) dimension. This system is also evaluated by filling out the questionnaire by students as user of elearning system using regression method. The attributes are used as independent variable, while the succesfull of elearning is dependent variable. The result of using AHP and regression system has a different. It also can show there are different view between users and system builder which should be considered by STIKes-STMIK Hang Tuah Pekanbaru.

Mitochondrial dysfunction was reported to be involved in the development of lung diseases including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). However, molecular regulation underlying metabolic disorders in the airway epithelia exposed to air pollution remains unclear. In the present study, lung bronchial epithelial BEAS-2B and alveolar epithelial A549 cells were treated with diesel exhaust particles (DEPs), the primary representative of ambient particle matter. This treatment elicited cell death accompanied by induction of lipid reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and ferroptosis. Lipidomics analyses revealed that DEPs increased glycerophospholipid contents. Accordingly, DEPs upregulated expression of the electron transport chain (ETC) complex and induced mitochondrial ROS production. Mechanistically, DEP exposure downregulated the Hippo transducer transcriptional co-activator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ), which was further identified to be crucial for the ferroptosis-associated antioxidant system, including glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4), the glutamate-cysteine ligase catalytic subunit (GCLC), and glutathione-disulfide reductase (GSR). Moreover, immunohistochemistry confirmed downregulation of GPX4 and upregulation of lipid peroxidation in the bronchial epithelium of COPD patients and Sprague-Dawley rats exposed to air pollution. Finally, proteomics analyses confirmed alterations of ETC-related proteins in bronchoalveolar lavage from COPD patients compared to healthy subjects. Together, our study discovered that involvement of mitochondrial redox dysregulation plays a vital role in pulmonary epithelial cell destruction after exposure to air pollution.
