In this paper,computational fluid dynamics（CFD） method is used to research and compare the inhalation pressure drop reduction and heart rate prediction for APR and *** was improved according to the dual inlets of APR,which does not feature a one-way inhalation *** results indicate that the inhalation pressure drop of APR（22.2 Pa,85 L/min） is 82.3% lower than that of APR（125.4 Pa）.Consider the case of APR mounted with canister A and B,the inhalation pressure drop of APR mounted with dual canister B（206.4 Pa,85 L/min） is 61.2% lower than that of APR mounted with canister B（531.5 Pa）.Using Li's prediction equation of inhalation pressure drop and heart rate,under high exercise condition of P = 120 W,the predicted Hr/Hrmax for APR mounted with dual canister B is 74.3%,which is 8.6% lower than the experimental value of APR mounted with canister A（82.9%）.In addition,the Hr/Hrmax is lower than the anaerobic threshold（Hr/Hrmax = 80%）,thereby preventing fatigue in users resulting from anaerobic *** results verified that the dual inlets design substantially reduce inhalation pressure drop while decelerating users' heart rate.

In order to improve the robustness of detectors, this paper concentrates on the approach that based on modeling the channel distortion as fast fading distortion (FFD). The influence on revising medium propagating under this model is analysis. The generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) yields an optimal detector. This detector is the segmented replica correlator (SRC). It can subdivide the correlation processing into segments that are later incoherently combined. In this paper, we give the waveform distortion mechanisms and optimum receiver structures. The false alarm probability and detection probability are analysis. Numerical simulations and experimentations based on linear frequency modulated (LFM) signal are used to demonstrate the accuracy of our analysis. The result show the SRC detector can improve detection performance in reverberation when the channel distortion is modeled as FFD.

This work is to develop a gamma-ray/neutron dual-particle imager, based on Rotating Modulation Collimators (RMC) and Pulse Shape Discrimination (PSD)-capable scintillators, for the nuclear security and safeguard application. We started with performing fundamental simulations on the RMC, to optimize the collimator design and the computing time for the Monte Carlo simulation. We obtained batches of RMC-modulated patterns to study the simulated behavior of the modulated pattern depending on various source locations. Simulated modulation profiles were used to verify the imaging algorithm developed on the basis of the Maximum-Likelihood Expectation Maximization (MLEM) method. An introduction to the current project and the simulation scheme will be presented, followed by brief comments on preliminary results of the simulated profiles.

The delayed neutron nuclear data are limited by its short lifetime, limited yield fraction, difficulty to obtain a well-defined sample, an inefficient (uncharacterized) experimental system, and numerical instabilities of fitting methods. The uncertainties on the relative abundances of the longer-lived delayed neutron groups are up to 13% for thermal fissions of 235U and 16% for fast fissions of 238U. To evaluate more accurate delayed neutron nu- clear data, a novel approach to experimentally measure the relative uncertainties on the delayed neutron group abundances has been proposed by Jordan and Perret. This ap- proach combines delayed gamma and delayed neutron fission rate measurement tech- niques;with two independent estimates of the same fission rate, higher uncertainty de- layed neutron parameters can be linked to lower uncertainty delayed gamma parameters. The present authors have designed, optimized, and built an experimental apparatus capa- ble of producing high accuracy measurements for delayed gamma-rays and neutrons, with the goal of implementing the above approach. Finally, sensitivity studies of the pa- rameters that have non-negligible contributions to the overall uncertainty were carried out. With regards to the designed setup and the combined technique, the relative uncertainty of the longest-lived delayed neutron group is calculated. The calculation shows that the uncertainty of the longest-lived delayed neutron group of 238U can be reduced by a factor of two to 8.81%. © 2014 Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. This paper proposes a guide system which uses an intended hand force of a robotic guide for elderly and visually impaired people. In general, we lead these people by the hand with a different way according to the situation. For example, we lead these people strongly and rapidly for avoiding a dangerous situation. For realizing our proposed system, this paper describes the following two key topics. The first, we analyze a hand movement, which leads the other person in each situation, and investigate the characteristics of it which the follower can estimate the intention of the leader according to the situation. From our investigation, the minimum jerk trajectory model can appropriate the velocity references of a hand movement and timing of peak velocity during one hand motion tends to show the intention of its leader. The second, we design the velocity references of a hand movement based on the analysis results and for verify its effectiveness, we implement the proposed idea to our prototype robotic guide. Using our idea, our guide robot can show the situation of the surrounding environment to its follower by a hand movement.

This paper presents the results of tests done on concrete beams reinforced with glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) longitudinal bars and GFRP stirrups. The main test variables were the size, the amount, and the arrangement of longitudinal reinforcement as well as the size and spacing of closed loop stirrups. Six beams are divided into two series defined by stirrup spacing, or three pairs defined by longitudinal bar arrangement. The results indicate that the specimens with no stirrups failed in shear-tension while the beams with stirrups failed in shear-compression showing deep beam behaviour. The results were compared to predictions from several methods, namely a novel Indeterminate Strut-and-Tie (1ST) method formulated specifically for use with brittle reinforcements, as well as the shear models of the ACI 440.1R-06 guidelines, the CSA S806-12 standard, and theNehdi et al. (2007) method. The 1ST method produced the best predictions followed by the method of Nehdi et al.
