This paper studies the feasibility of a 10 kWe radioisotope-powered closed Brayton cycle for pulsed power station keeping applications. The study evaluates the specific power of the proposed system compared to current solar-photovoltaic systems. To achieve a high power pulse from a continuous low power input, a boron thermal capacitor surrounds a tungsten cermet matrix containing a radioisotope heat source which gradually adds heat to the thermal capacitor. During a power pulse this heat is removed by a HeXe coolant which expands through a closed Brayton conversion cycle to produce electric power for the spacecraft's ion thrusters. Since real time heat rejection is not necessary for a pulsed power system, a lithium thermal capacitor absorbs waste heat for the duration of the pulse, and radiates that heat to space between pulses.

The aim of this study was to develop a Mobile Reading Assistance System Based on Chinese Words for students in elementary schools. This paper presents a system which is called Reading Assistance for the elementary school students to learn anytime and anywhere by using personal mobile devices (PDA) and the Wireless Network. In this system, instructors would be required to upload the text content to the system and instructors can view the learning record of students. On the other hand, learner can read the text content and learn Chinese words by using this system. To sum up, the characters of this system are easy reading, easy learning, easy conduct, and high supportive which support for student Assistance of Reading. In the future, researchers will use tests to assess the system.

X-ray microfluorescence imaging technique has been used as a significant tool in order to investigate minerals contents in some kinds of materials. The aim of this study was to evaluate the elemental distribution of calcium and zinc in bone substitute materials (nanohydroxyapatite spheres) and cortical bones through X-Ray Microfluorescence analysis with the increment of Synchrotron Radiation in order to evaluate the characteristics of the newly formed bone and its interface, the preexisting bone and biomaterials by the arrangement of collagen fibers and its birefringence. The elemental mapping was carried out at Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory, Campinas - Sao Paulo, Brazil working at D09-XRF beam line. Based on this study, the results suggest that hydroxyapatite-based biomaterials are biocompatible, promote osteoconduction and favored bone repair.

This work suggests an adaptive tour route planning multimedia system designed to meet the needs of different tourists. Tour route planning is a 'traveling salesman problem' (TSP) type problem. TSP is an example of a combinatorial optimization problem and is known as NP-hard. As studied by many researchers exact, heuristic (approximation) and metaheuristic algorithms are usually applied for NP problems. A promising meta-heuristic algorithm is proposed to solve the tour route planning problems which involves minimization of total traveling time, total travel expenses or the combined total traveling time and expenses. Moreover, a simple exchange local search heuristic is also applied to increase the exploitation (intensification) competence of the scheme. Restated, finding out the optimal planned tour using particle swarm optimization and increasing performance by exchange heuristic scheme is suggested. Simulation results indicate the PSO with exchange heuristic designed provides a promising strategy, and is efficient for solving tour route planning problems.

Conventional textile-based wound dressings are cost-effective and highly absorbent, but used alone, fail to provide optimal wound healing conditions (hemostasis, non-adherence, maintenance of a moist wound bed, etc.). Modern wound dressings often incorporate multiple non-textile components (films, gels, antimicrobials, and biological forms) that provide advanced functionalities at a significantly higher cost. Electrospun nanofiber dressings have demonstrated the potential to revolutionize wound care by providing significantly enhanced moisture management, barrier properties, and bioactivity. However, nanofiber webs are inherently weak and difficult to handle. Deposition of electrospun nanofiber coatings on a conventional textile bandages addresses the need for structural support, but faces challenges of delamination due to compliance mismatch or poor adhesion. Atmospheric plasma has been shown to increase adhesion of coatings to fibers due to enhanced surface chemistry and/or morphology.
