Crawler cranes are used in various applications, including plant construction and civil engineering. However, accidents caused by hazardous events, such as overturning the entire body or overshadowing of a suspended load, can be problematic. Because crawler cranes are large and powerful machines, simulators are required to analyze the relationship between such hazardous events and human operations. This study proposed a framework for a mixed-reality simulator to analyze the interactions between humans and crawler cranes. This framework combined the high-performance graphics capabilities of Unreal Engine 5 with the high-precision multibody dynamics analysis of MATLAB Simscape to create a visually and physically realistic simulation. Moreover, the quantification of the decision-making process was possible based on the eye-tracking information of the operator. This study described the implementation of these features and discussed the prospects for human-crawler crane interaction analysis using this simulator. © 2024 IEEE.

Transformers play a big role in the distribution of electrical energy. One of the factors that determines the reliability level of the transformer is the life of the transformer. If the transformer is used longer, the level reliability of its transformer will be decrease. The purpose of this research was to predict the life of a transformer based on the health index transformer calculation, then the value of health index transformer will be modeled by using artificial neural network. The results of this research were the values used as the parameters in transformer testing, which were insulating oil, furan, and dissolved gas. One of the advantages of artificial neural network methods in predicting the life of the transformer is a calculation error that can be minimized. From the result of this research, the transformer's life prediction system can be used directly to determine the lives of other transformers, both new and operating ones, with a low percentage of errors. Furthermore, this method can be used as an option in maintaining power transformers.

Urban traffic congestion presents critical challenges, resulting in delays, environmental pollution, and significant economic costs. While traditional traffic control methods, such as fixed-time and adaptive systems, have been widely implemented, they often fail in unpredictable conditions, particularly when confronted with noisy or inaccurate data. This research proposes a robust reinforcement learning (RL) solution for traffic signal control using the RADIAL-DQN (Robust Adversarial Loss DQN) algorithm. Integrating adversarial training enhances the system's robustness to real-world uncertainties. Evaluations conducted using a SUMO traffic simulation show that the robust agent produced an increase of only 60.71% in queue length under a projected gradient descent (PGD) adversarial attack, outperforming standard RL agents, which experienced an 89% increase. These results demonstrate the potential of robust RL to improve both the reliability and scalability of urban traffic control systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Indonesia's geographical condition, which consists of 70 percent ocean territory, holds the potential for utilizing offshore wind turbines to provide cleaner energy. In this study, economic calculations were conducted for offshore wind turbines to generate green electricity and green hydrogen. The chosen ocean area for this endeavor is around the Papa offshore platform in the Java Sea. This area has experienced an economic decline, making it viable for repurposing as a sub-station for a powerhouse and an electrolyzer plant. Based on meteorological data analysis results, the area around the Papa offshore platform exhibits an average at height of 119 m;the wind speed is 5.5 m/*** prevailing wind direction is East Southeast (ESE), with a frequency of 25.2%. Further analysis of wind farms aimed at generating a capacity of 100.8 MW revealed an optimal potential energy generation of approximately 141,656.9 MWh per year. For scenario 1 (electricity production), the cost is $0.192/kWh. The levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) for scenario 2 (offshore electrolyzer) and scenario 3 (onshore electrolyzer) is $9.44/kg and $10.1/kg, respectively. To assess investment feasibility, a Net Present Value (NPV) analysis was conducted. This analysis yielded a selling price of electricity at $0.0271/kWh for the first scenario. For the second scenario, the selling price of hydrogen was calculated at $17.11/kg, and for the third scenario, it was $16.99/kg. Considering its flexibility and potential response to restrictions, the third scenario was deemed the most suitable for offshore utilization to produce clean energy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This study explores the potential assessment. of regenerative braking energy in the operation of Electric Multiple Units (EMU) on the Yogyakarta-Palur railway line, a 65.03 km. Prompted by a noticeable increase in passenger numbers in the Yogyakarta metropolitan buffer zone, the study calls for future energy management strategies, involving regenerative braking to reduce energy consumption. Utilizing a mathematical model implemented via MATLAB Simulink, the research encompasses complex train movement scenarios, considering variables such as acceleration values of 0.558 m/s2 and 1 m/s2, and deceleration values of -0.555 m/s2 and 0.36 m/s2. Speed limitations, travel patterns, and energy profiles are rigorously examined, along with incline influences, such as tangent angles of 0.0032 degrees and 0.0017 degrees. In segments like Purwosari-Solo Jebres, electrical energy consumption is quantified at 23.02 kWh, with regenerative braking energy at 1.42 kWh;in Maguwo-Brambanan, consumption is 15.28 kWh, with regenerative energy at 2.42 kWh. The peak power requirements and regenerative braking potentials were also determined, with values such as 619.9 kW and 225.7 kW, and 1785 kW and 198.2 kW respectively. The total electrical consumption for the routes from Palur to Yogyakarta and vice versa was found to be 325.52 kWh and 276.73 kWh, with energy recovery of 31.43 kWh and 26.6 kWh, and average energy recovery ratios of 9.66% and 9.61%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Conversion of fossil fuels as an energy source can be achieved by optimizing the use of renewable energy. One of the most used renewable energy is solar photovoltaics (PV). At present, solar power plant is an electrification support system for certain buildings because the abundant availability of solar radiation. On this research, Power and energy observations are carried out to determine measure the load power trend, the amount of energy flow from PV to the load, as well as import or export power from or to utility grid by direct measurement on Mosque of Faculty of engineering, Universitas Indonesia. According to the study, the highest power generated by solar power plant mostly occurs at 12:00 - 13:00 with the highest power generated by PV is 2,344 W and the exported power is 939 W, and 32.19% - 55.67% electricity energy savings consumption from utility grid.

The purpose of this study is to construct an interactive system which composes a musical work satisfying each user. This study makes a great importance to human subjectivity toward music, and constructs a music composition system reflecting each user's feeling. The system uses 3 types of user evaluations toward music to generate 16-bars musical work. The interactive genetic algorithm is applied to the present system, and user evaluations are employed instead of GA's objective fitness functions. In this paper, chromosomes, which have information on 4-bars musical work, are generated in the pool, and the GA operations based on user evaluations are executed to them. From the results of the evaluation experiments, it is found that our system composes music reflecting user's feeling.

In this paper, a control system based on Sliding Mode Control (SMC) and Kalman Filter has been designed to stabilize the quadcopter in the takeoff and hover phases as well as at the expected altitude. The control system is needed to support the performance of the quadcopter in carrying out the mission that has been given. The designed control system begins with the creation of a system model equation and is implemented in a real quadcopter simulation. The resulting response in terms of the results of the resulting control signal is stable, meets the trajectory as expected, and can produce a real quadcopter simulation taking off vertically and flying stably. Even though there was an unstable response for about 15 to 20 seconds at the beginning of the resulting response, after that the system showed stability. Tracking the resulting trajectory in accordance with the desired trajectory. Real quadcopter simulation results show that the takeoff phase can be carried out vertically and that the resulting trajectory stability can be stable during takeoff and flight. The height of the quadcopter has reached 100%, namely with a height of 1.5 meters as expected, and the average error value obtained at the x position is $2.93\mathrm{e}^{-07}$, the y position is $2.96\mathrm{e}^{-}07$, and the z position is $1.80\mathrm{e}^{-03}$. The proposed SMC-Kalman filter control system is expected to be implemented in a conventional quadcopter that has been developed.

The increasing need for energy and fuels (especially fossil fuels) encourages humans and researchers in the world to look for other renewable alternative materials. Levulinic acid which is a chemical that can be obtained from biomass has been identified as a potential chemical platform. Besides being an alternative material to reduce the need for fossil fuels in various industries, levulinic acid can be used as solvent, resin, flavor enhancer, antifreeze, animal feed and others. One of the most widely available biomass in Asia and can be used as the main ingredient for making levulinic acid is rice husk. The use of a catalyst commonly used in the process of producing levulinic acid is a Bronsted acid catalyst, but the use of a homogeneous catalyst can cause new problems in its separation. This study focused on evaluating the effect of using heterogeneous catalyst from manganese based catalyst (Mn3O4/ZSM-5) and homogeneous catalyst from Bronsted acid catalyst (H2SO4) and the effect of catalyst concentration (10 %wt, 20 %wt and 30 %wt). The sample pretreatment process using alkaline delignification (NaOH) was carried out twice to degrade lignin that interfered with the hydrolysis process and optimize the performance of the catalyst. The conversion process of rice husk lignocellulose into levulinic acid was carried out for 8 h with sampling every 2 h at 100 °C. The experimental results show that the double delignification process can reduce lignin content while reducing hemicellulose content up to 100 % from 12.91 % to 0 %, modification of ZSM-5 to Mn3O4/ZSM-5 can increase catalyst crystallinity and catalyst performance without destroying the structure of the catalyst, and the heterogeneous catalyst Mn3O4/ZSM-5 30 %wt gives the best yield (%mol) and selectivity of levulinic acid, respectively 66.05 % and 72.3 % after 8 h of reaction. © 2023

Indonesia had been suffered by earthquake and tsunami for many centuries. Since many lives have taken by tsunami strikes, alert and response system are very important as important part of Disaster Risk Reduction, especially in area with high population density. This research conducted in Kangkung fishing village in Bandar Lampung coastal area which is an earthquake and tsunami prone area. The aim of the research is to study alert and response of Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction. The research conducted by qualitative method and purposive-descriptive approach. There were 53 respondents which participated in the survey and interview. It is reported that "Smart Resilient City"model suitable for community needs of alert and response of earthquake and tsunami disaster. This research meets conclusion that "Smart Resilient City"model may become a great solution in Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction to cope with the hazard of earthquake and tsunami comprehensively and sustainably. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
