This paper presents the design and analysis of welding fixtures based on transient thermal analysis. Welding fixtures is designed to hold and support the workpiece securely during the welding process. The heat transformation from the workpiece could lead the temperature rises and impacts to the welding fixtures. Therefore, the study introduces the development of welding fixtures as one of a safety measure prevents the welder from injury while handling welding process. The conceptual design of welding fixtures and material were applied to conduct the simulation. Transient thermal analysis was performed on temperature and total heat flux by using computer aided engineering software. The result shows the analysis of equivalent stress, total deformation, factors of safety, fatigue life and fatigue damage. Furthermore, the equivalent stress failure theory used to predict yielding in welding fixture design. The design of welding fixtures and material selection were proposed to hold and support the workpiece securely.

The purpose of this paper is to describe the design of customer knowledge management system to support customer relationship management activities for an aglaonema nursery in South Tangerang, Indonesia. system. The steps were knowledge identification (knowledge about customer, knowledge from customer, knowledge for customer), knowledge capture, codification, analysis of system requirement and create use case and activity diagram. The result showed that some key knowledge were about supporting customer in plant care (know how) and types of aglaonema including with the prices (know what). That knowledge for customer then codified and shared in knowledge portal website integrated with social media. Knowledge about customer were about customers and their behaviour in purchasing aglaonema. Knowledge from customer were about feedback, favorite and customer experience. Codified knowledge were placed and shared using content management system based on wordpress.

These days, many used cooking oils from restaurants were re-used by street sellers to fry their food. Those waste oils commonly just throw away. Whereas waste oils which have not any treatment first, will pollute the environment. One of the ways to treat the waste oil is by converting to biodiesel. This research aimed to study the kinetic reaction of second-used cooking oil transesterification into biodiesel and find the optimum condition of its process. This research was done by transesterification reaction in batch reactor. The feedstock was collected from the street sellers in Yogyakarta. Methanol was used as a reactant and KOH was used as a base catalyst. The study parameters were temperature, alcohol to oil molar ratio, and catalyst concentration. Several types of analysis used were free glycerol analysis, total glycerol analysis, free fatty acid (FFA) analysis, and saponification analysis. These analyses were used to calculate the yield of conversion and ester content of biodiesel sample. From this research, it is found that the kinetic reaction of second-used cooking oil transesterification can be expressed by k = 0.0251exp (-15.29/RT) dm3/(***). The optimum condition (the ester content 92.76%) of biodiesel production were obtained at temperature 66.5oC, molar ratio of methanol to oil 6.18:1, and 1 wt.% KOH.

This paper explains the results of research on analysis of the ports within the Western Indonesia in terms of logistics effectiveness and efficiency perspective. The research aimed at determining one port amongst 18 main ports within the Western Indonesia as the main hub port to support the national logistics system. The results of research, based on multi-criteria analysis that has exercised seven criterion, i.e.: (1) spatial system; (2) national transportation system; (3) national security; (4) port operational and technical; (5) type of commodity; (6) port services; and (7) logistics service cost, indicated that the Port of Tanjung Priok-Jakarta is the most effective and efficient port. While, based on the spatial analyzes, Port of Tanjung Emas-Semarang is the prioritized choice. This research still needs a further analysis to promise both of ports are feasible technically and economically as a main hub port.

This research presents a systemic method to the innovative design of M14 rifle trigger mechanism based on TRIZ. We used the system Functional Analysis to define the functions for the components of trigger mechanism, the Strategy Edition to evaluate the value of the components for selection and deletion of the lower value components to simplify the trigger mechanism. The technical parameters, the invention principle, and the contradictory matrix of TRIZ were applied to solve the contradictory problem generated during the innovative design process. Finally, we created the 3D modeling of parts and simulation of the new trigger mechanism to prove its feasibility. After we applied this systematic method to the M14 rifle trigger mechanism, not only fewer components has made, but the trigger mechanism newly designed can do all the functions of original design;it can be also replace the original trigger mechanism to install into M14 rifles.
