A not stable mechanical movement transmission between systems produces equilibrium losses, such as a rotor of motors that are coupled in rotating machines. This can be studied as a disturbance "vibration" either as characteristic of the movement transmission due to controlled displacement over rotors, which transmits the movement. Therefore, in this research is presented an analysis for an optimal control of the rotor axis displacement that includes "vibration" as the part of the movement transmission. It implies mathematical modelling and specific sensors selections to correlate the vibration in this control task. Furthermore, in order to verify the proposed analysis, it was simulated and tested in a hybrid magnetic bearing system. © 2022, European Association for the Development of Renewable Energy, Environment and Power Quality (EA4EPQ). To understand typical features that could be imaged using ultrasonography (USG) in the training phases of medical students or practitioners, a lung phantom is required. The research team suggests using a gelatine-based phantom to demonstrate A-line reverberations in lung ultrasound. The ordinary gelatine-based phantom has the disadvantage of being too fragile and prone to breaking. The specific process was attempted on gelatine with a plasticizer and carrier agent to increase the gelatine's strength and elasticity. To simulate the A-lines, two different textures of gelatine layers are used, with other processes in between. A special procedure was used to set off the various acoustic impedances affecting reverberation physics with those varied textures. Based on USG image analysis, the proposed lung phantom material has some advantages: it is inexpensive and easy to find, despite its complicated procedures. Furthermore, it could be processed to have the desired properties and recycled after hardening with water bath melting. © 2023 IEEE.

Indonesia was declared the world's fourth-largest coffee bean producer in 2020 and yields consistently increase each year. Indonesia also has the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 01-2907-2008, which specifies various defects with the defect scores of coffee beans that determine their quality. Common coffee bean defects listed in SNI 01-2907-2008 include black beans, broken black beans, partly black beans, and brown coffee beans. These defects degrade the quality and affect the market value. Previous studies have proposed computer vision systems as a non-invasive testing method for grading coffee beans based on trained images. However, obtaining the detail in a single bean image based on the region of interest could have been more comprehensively explained in those studies, making them less informative and requiring a more detailed conceptual breakdown. This study describes several coffee beans captured as images using a digital camera with a specific field of view, F/25 f-number, 1/60s exposure time, ISO400, and a lighting system reaching 12,000 lux. These images are processed based on the region of interest and centroid, resulting in single bean images with a resolution of 220 x 220 pixels ready for training. The samples used in this study are Robusta Lampung coffee beans, which are commonly found in Indonesia and exhibit various types of defects based on the criteria in SNI 01-2907-2008, such as black beans, broken black beans, partly black beans, and brown coffee beans.

This work is described as a proposal to apply modern control techniques and automation tools for optimal plant growth, also it was based on key agricultural strategies that were developed by ancient civilizations such as the Inca Empire. Many of them ancient techniques including the Inca engineering of andenes were forgotten or set aside through time. In this research, however, some of these key techniques are revisited to analyze and evaluate optimal plant growth using sensors and actuators that were not available in ancient civilizations. In addition, predictive and adaptive mathematical models are used for plant growth analysis of thermodynamic parameters such as temperature, humidity and potential of Hydrogen (pH). Furthermore, there were compared performances of sensors (electromechanical sensors) with designed sensors that were based in nanostructures, because of better study of the plant growth techniques. Several coffee producers rely on manual inspection for quality control, which is prone to inconsistencies and time consumption. Recent studies have proposed Comparison performance on State-of-The-Art (SOTA). Deep learning models were investigated as part of the proposed intelligent computer vision for faster and more reliable coffee bean grading. Performance Deep learning models, i.e., MobileNetV3Small, ResNet50, EfficientNetV2L, and DenseNet201, were evaluated to grade the quality of coffee beans that followed a grading procedure based on Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 01-2907-2008. A specific tray was designed to position coffee beans evenly without overlap for sample preparation, which consist of about 500–600 coffee beans. The process of capturing images is conducted systematically, focusing on each type of coffee bean defect individually. For comparison of SOTA models, five classes of coffee bean defects, With 1053 beans per class, the total dataset comprises 5265 beans. This dataset was divided into 10% for testing and 90% for training. Within the training data, 12% was reserved for validation. The result from this paper shows that MobileNetV3Small achieves the highest accuracy (99.43%) with minimal memory and parameters. Its efficient design allows for robust feature extraction, crucial for distinguishing subtle defect features. While larger models like ResNet50 and EfficientNetV2L also perform well, they exhibit higher memory and parameters.

The vibration measurement of flows in transient or steady-state is a very complicated task. Moreover, to correlate it with a temperature process is quite important according to get information regarding molecular kinetic energy of thermal sources (such as flow measurement used in cleaning tasks) according to achieve heating transfer information of a thermal process. However, there is a trouble concerning the transduction stage in the measurement while it is not a transducer designed algorithm as a consequence of a mathematical model, which correlates the calibration data with the theoretical model of the heating/vibration transfer. For this reason, in this research is proposed intelligent sensors/transducers, which are based on Anodic Aluminium Oxide (AAO) and a mathematical procedure of the measurement instrumentation according to adaptive coefficients in the Modulating Functions strategies analysis and getting optimal measurements. In this research is explained and analysed the temperature measurement process and the transduction process as the strict correlation of the calibration of the temperature/vibration sensor. For this reason, there were evaluated different transducers and the temperature/vibration reference for the calibration. The based on nanostructures temperature sensors are designed by specific and complex procedures according to achieve quite operation range, robustness and precision. Moreover, the transduction can be obtained through different electrical answer variables such as voltage, electrical current or capacitance and possible to send by wireless mechanisms and protocols to the main control system. An optimal waste collection is a very complicated task in different countries. However, this task is more intricate, when there is not an organized procedure between people, government and technology. In this research it was studied and proposed strategies, to optimize the waste collection by technical suggestions, that were based on mathematical analysis and new technologies applications of sensors based on nanostructures due to this kind of sensors have good performance to measure physical variables in not simple places and conditions, such as around waste. Hence the reason, this work is prepared to contribute in the development of sensors based on nanostructures according to detect the physical variables: temperature, humidity, infrared reflection, moreover carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) gases, which help to monitor the consequences of a not correct waste *** dependence on central and local government rules of waste management, it could be possible to find solution about organized waste collection, in which every family and walkers in streets would have the task to select the organic and inorganic garbage before the government trucks take the contents of the garbage trash cans to the landfill garbage dumps. However, many times the trash cans are not taken on time by the government trucks and garbage from them are producing gases and decomposition that causes contamination that damages health. Therefore, in this work there are proposed designed intelligent sensors, which are fixed in the trash cans due to measure physical parameters to give alarm for administrators controllers of boxes and to enhance the garbage selections from homes and streets to the main garbage landfills of the city. In other side, there will not be right solution in the waste collection, no matter the high advantage technologies, while humans could not be sensitive under this problematic. Urban traffic congestion presents critical challenges, resulting in delays, environmental pollution, and significant economic costs. While traditional traffic control methods, such as fixed-time and adaptive systems, have been widely implemented, they often fail in unpredictable conditions, particularly when confronted with noisy or inaccurate data. This research proposes a robust reinforcement learning (RL) solution for traffic signal control using the RADIAL-DQN (Robust Adversarial Loss DQN) algorithm. Integrating adversarial training enhances the system's robustness to real-world uncertainties. Evaluations conducted using a SUMO traffic simulation show that the robust agent produced an increase of only 60.71% in queue length under a projected gradient descent (PGD) adversarial attack, outperforming standard RL agents, which experienced an 89% increase. These results demonstrate the potential of robust RL to improve both the reliability and scalability of urban traffic control systems.

Mobile robots have been a popular research topic in recent decades due to their many potential applications. One of the common types of mobile robots is the two-wheeled self-balancing robot, which operates based on the basic concept of an inverted pendulum. This concept represents an unstable system, so a proper controller is required to stabilize the system. This paper proposes a controller that combines a type2 fuzzy logic system and sliding mode control to stabilize and maintain the robot’s body balance in a straight upright position. Sliding mode control is a well-known robust controller with the ability to handle system disturbances. However, the presence of a switching law in sliding mode control can lead to the occurrence of chattering phenomena. Hence, a type-2 fuzzy logic system is applied to reduce the chattering effect by adjusting the switching gain of the sliding mode control. Additionally, the system’s stability is analyzed using the Lyapunov theorem. The simulation results demonstrate that the designed type-2 fuzzy sliding mode control not only reduces chattering but also decreases energy consumption by approximately 59.92% and reduces the undershoot of the pitching rate by about 33.5%, with only a 0.115-second longer settling time for pitching angle compared to conventional sliding mode control.
