The Automatic Weather Station (AWS) is an automated instrument designed to gather meteorological parameters within a given environment. The dataset obtained from AWS often contains missing values due to various factors such as sensor malfunction or transmission issues. Nonetheless, the data produced by AWS plays a vital role in weather analysis and prediction. In this study, the authors employ the Generative Adversarial Imputation Network algorithm to generate synthetic values for the missing data in the AWS dataset. The dataset is divided into four schemes, each exhibiting different distributions of missing values at 5, 25, 50, and 80 gaps, respectively. The synthetic values generated by the algorithm are subsequently compared to the ground truth values using the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Mean Absolute Error (MAE) metrics. The findings demonstrate that for the air pressure parameter, both the 5 gaps and 25 gaps models exhibit RMSE and MAE values below 2 hPa. Similarly, the models for the air temperature parameter demonstrate RMSE and MAE values below 2°C. As for the relative humidity parameter, the models achieve RMSE and MAE values below 15%. Therefore, both the 5 gaps and 25 gaps models satisfy the error threshold established by the Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi, dan Geofisika for AWS data quality control. © 2023 IEEE.

Controlled C-N configurations,i.e.,pyrrolic-N,pyridinic-N,and graphitic-N,are promising strategies to tailor the carbon dots’(CDs)optical properties into the first near infrared(NIR)window(650-900 nm),a responsive range for biomedical ***,a deep understanding of the role of the C-N configuration in the CDs’properties is still challenging and thoughtprovoking owing to their complex ***,an underlying pyrrolic-N concentration and position effect on the pyrrolic-N-rich CDs’absorption was comprehensively elucidated based on the integrated experimental and computational *** assynthesized pyrrolic-N-rich CDs exhibit a first NIR window absorption centered at 650 nm with high photothermal ***-N concentrations from 1.4%to 11.3%and positions(edge and mid-site)were systematically investigated.A mid-site pyrrolic-N was subsequently generated after the pyrrolic-N concentration more than 10%.Edge-site pyrrolic-N induces a frontier orbital hybridization,reducing bandgap energy,while mid-site pyrrolic-N plays a critical role in inducing a first NIR window absorption owing to their high charge ***,pyrrolic-N-rich CDs inherit a bowl-like topological feature,elevating the CDs’layer thickness as much as 0.71 *** study shed light on the design and optimization of pyrrolic-N on CDs for the first NIR window responsive materials in any biomedical application.

The increasing need for efficient monitoring of parameters in challenging industrial environments, such as basic sanitation, has led to the search for integrated and user-friendly solutions that can address specific challenges of this setting. This project aims to develop a solution to meet monitoring requirements in water treatment plants. The proposed solution involves the development of both hardware and software for collecting data from the water treatment process using sensors and transmitting this information to a server structure, database, and communication interface with the cloud-based user. The effectiveness of the proposed device is being evaluated in six water treatment units located in the states of Alagoas, Mato Grosso, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo. Preliminary results indicate that the proposed solution is capable of monitoring the variables involved in the water flocculation stage and generating a comprehensive set of information about the process over time.

Thermodynamic processes are part of the road of a thermodynamic system, while it has an initial and final state of the thermal trajectory. Nevertheless, there are many intricate variables while the process goes from a transient to a steady state, in many contexts it causes imbalances in the final system, such as given losses in internal efficiencies of subsystems from the main system, furthermore the total losses in the system efficiency. Hence, in this work is proposed a procedure to optimize a general thermodynamic process which was evaluated in different applications that are part of primary manufacturing tasks like there are in Perú, even they can produce pollution or disturbances in nature conditions when it is not an optimal procedure to develop the thermodynamic process. This proposal procedure is based in mathematical modelling by correlation in theoretical analysis of the thermal system with analysis of experimental data through adaptive/predictive techniques, moreover, it was evaluated and suggested applications of new technologies as sensors/actuators based in nanostructures due to faster and robust characteristics as comparisons with traditional sensors/actuators. Finally, the results achieved were interpreted by standards norms that help to keep based comparisons to interchange with international community. © WMSCI *** right reserved.

This paper describes an experimental study of SARS-CoV-2 detection using plasmonic gold nanoparticles, which overcomes the limitations of traditional detection techniques known for their time-consuming and a tendency to produce high false negative results. The transmission spectrum of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was recently estimated to be in filter-free wavelength sensors as a miniaturization detection system. Additionally, we demonstrate that wide-ranging absorption will manifest within the visible spectrum when the virus is partially coated with gold nanoparticles at a particular percentage of coverage. This extensive absorption can be harnessed to direct the advancement of a reliable and precise colorimetric plasmon sensor for the detection of COVID-19. The transmission value resulting from the gold nano seed is around 507–540 nm. In addition, plasmonic gold nanoparticles can detect SARS-CoV-2 well from the range of 100-1,000 ng/ml. We expect a miniaturization biosensor system with qualitative diagnosis to be realized by the development method.

The research was conducted to determine the subsurface layer type in the Sutami Dam area using magnetic methods. This study aims to determine the subsurface soil type in the area around the Sutami Dam. The instrument used in data collection was the Proton Precession Magnetometer (PPM) Scientrex Model G-8. The data collection area covers the Kromengan region (112.494oE;8.129oS) to the Sukorame area (112.358oE;-8.213oS). The area covers the Sutami Dam area. The research area is 15 km x 15 km or with an area of 225 KM with a space between points 300 m. From the data acquisition, it was found that the number of data collection points was 1372 points. The types of subsurface layers based on the 2,5 D Talwani modeling are soil, pumice, limestone, sandy tuff, sandstone, andesite, and lava. © 2021 Institute of physics Publishing. Three natural alkaloids: caffeine, theobromine and theophylline are reported for their application as dielectric layers in organic field effect transistors (OFETs) utilizing both gold and aluminum gate electrodes. After careful purification of the materials, a detailed analysis using x-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), contact angle (CA), impedance spectroscopy, amplitude modulated kelvin probe force microscope (AM-KPFM) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) is performed. OFET devices operating at typical voltages between 2 and 4 V have been fabricated with the investigated alkaloid films processed via blade coating (caffeine) or vacuum processing (theobromine and theophylline). The dielectric properties of these three alkaloids are measured in impedance spectroscopy and negligible leakage currents are observed when deposited in thin films as dielectric layers in OFETs on aluminum electrodes. There is a high tendency of these molecules to crystallize and form uneven surfaces. When the thin film forming properties are carefully controlled, organic alkaloids can be employed in applications involving implantable, transient or even edible electronics. © 2022 IEEE.

We employed three radiation detection devices: NaI(Tl) Scintillator, Geiger Muller Counter (GMC), and Electronic Personal Dosimeter (EPD) in highest natural background radiastion area in Inonesia. Direct measurements conducted with these three devices were validated by measuring radionuclide activities in the soil using HPGe Gamma Spectrometry. Among these three devices, two of them measure ambient dose equivalent (H*(10)), while one measures personal dose equivalent (Hp(10)). The measurement results indicating average H*(10) values of 0.457 µSv/h from NaI(Tl) Scintillator data and 0.769 µSv/h from GMC data, while the average Hp(10) value measured by EPD shows 0.986 µSv/h. The measurement of H*(10) by GMC is 45% higher than that of the NaI(Tl) Scintillator. This difference is also evident from the degenerate 2D map, where GMC data highlights locations of high flux gamma ray anomalies more clearly. This suggests that both devices exhibit different efficiencies under high gamma radiation exposure, with GMC showing better efficiency. However, under conditions of high radiation exposure, phenomena such as saturation may affect the performance of the device. The difference in measurement results does not indicate that one device is superior to the other;the naturally high radiation exposure conditions in the research environment affect the performance of both devices. Meanwhile, in the measurement of Hp(10) by EPD, it was found that the Hp(10) readings are higher than H*(10), which should not happen considering Hp(10) depends on the incident angle of radiation. The EPD detector type allows for the detection of radiation at low energies, but if it is not calibrated at this energy level, it might cause overreading when lower energy radiation, such as X-rays, is detected. Dead time and saturation may occur in environments with high background radiation, causing the detector readings to be less than ideal. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Currently, antibiotics waste produced by hospitals and pharmacies is increasing, increasing demand and public consumption. Tetracyclines are a popular type of antibiotic that can pollute the environment even in low concentrations. This study aimed to detect tetracyclines in an aqueous environment using C-dots/Ag. C-dots material was synthesized by microwave radiation method with the addition of Ag 0-4 %. C-dots/Ag is produced in the form of a brown-black powder that glows green. FTIR testing shows that C-dots/Ag contains various functional groups O-H, N-H, C-H, C=O, and C=C. The surface morphology of the C-dots based on SEM testing is round and rough. Ag's addition causes C-dots' surface morphology to agglomerate, shifting the C-dots' absorbance peaks towards a larger wavelength and decreasing the energy bandgap. C-dots/Ag 2% has the best optical properties based on the intensity of the resulting fluency. In general, C-dots/Ag has excellent potential to be a susceptible, selective, and effective tetracycline detection agent. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Lithium-ion batteries (LIB) have developed into the mainstream power source of energy storage devices due to their advantages: high power density, high power, long service life, and less pollution. This materials development for LFP batteries was considered successful in synthesizing powder. Here we show that three synthesis conditions were performed. LFP doped NiO, NMC, and (NH4)2HPO4 were synthesized by the nitrogen gas flow method. LFP-doped NiO was burned at 600 °C and 700 °C for five h. NMC doped with LFP burned at 550 °C for five h, and NMC-doped LFP and (NH4)2HPO4 were burned at 550 °C and 600 °C for five h. The structure and morphology of the material were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). © 2022
