The government determines forests based on the main functions of: Conservation forest, protection forest and production forest. The Petungkriyono protected forest is one of the conservation areas located in the Petungkriyono, Pekalongan City. Conservation of protected forests in Petungkriyono is very much needed considering the development of the wider city, so that the forests that were originally forest areas that functioned as green open spaces have been greatly reduced, especially in areas along the river that leads to Pekalongan City. The research method used in this study is to use descriptive research methods. The data collection technique used is the study of literature. Data analysis techniques were performed using a Likert scale calculated by discriminant analysis. Type of participation contributed by the community in the protected forest area of Petungkriyono;a) participation of ideas, b) energy, c) property, d) skill e) social participation. The form of community participation in the conservation of the Petungkriyono protected forest area;a) active participation, b) passive participation. Geographical factors that serve as a reference for the importance of conservation of the Petungkriyono protected forest are: A) habitat, b) consideration of the area, c) physical and human factors, and d) economic value. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2020.

Smartphone sensors have been widely researched and published in literature by experts to be used in physics learning. This paper presents the use of smartphone sensors and applications as a measuring instrument in the classical sound wave experiment adapted from physics textbooks at school or university. Tone generator, sound meter, and audio autocorrelation were used in the experiment to visualize sound as a propagating vibration, sound waves as mechanical waves, characteristics of sound waves (loud and soft or high-pitched or low-pitched), sound range, and sound power. The experimental results presented are expected to help students understand the concept of sound waves.

This study presents an investigation of chemical and physical characterization, green process analysis, techno-economic considerations, and carbon emissions for synthesizing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) from plastic and can waste using microwave-assisted synthesis. The microwave-assisted synthesis proves to be more cost-effective, with a reduction in CO₂ emissions by up to 80%. The synthesized material (MIL-Mw-U) demonstrates excellent performance in methylene blue (MB) removal, achieving 98.41% removal, with 97.87% removal although the catalyst is used in the third cycle. The adsorption of methylene blue (MB) onto MIL-Mw-U achieved a maximum capacity of 295.26 mgg⁻¹ at pH 3 and decreased to 258.68 mgg⁻¹ at pH 11 due to OH⁻ competition. The Langmuir isotherm (R² = 0.9381) and pseudo-second-order kinetics (R² = 0.999) confirmed monolayer chemisorption as the dominant mechanism. This innovative approach supports circular economy principles by converting can and plastic bottle waste into functional material for dye removal, offering sustainable solutions for environmental challenges. © 2025 The Authors

Batteries are used for energy storage in various applications. Renewable energy systems, such as solar cells and wind turbines, produce energy depending on the weather. Because of that, batteries are needed in these fields to ensure energy availability. Electric vehicles also rely on batteries for energy storages. Therefore, the failure of battery management can result in large losses in various aspects. To prevent this, a number of studies on battery State of Health (SoH) have been carried out. SoH Prediction and estimation of have been applied using several methods such as SVM, deep learning, random forest and others. In many cases, these methods are applied by assuming that the change in SoH is a linear or nonlinear phenomenon. However, in this paper, it is found that SoH exhibits chaotic behaviors. Several well known methods such as Autocorrelation Function, Average False Neighbors, and Lyapunov Exponent are considered to identify the chaotic nature of SoH. The obtained results can provide a new understanding of SoH behaviors on batteries, especially for the development of battery management system, control and safety systems. © 2019 IEEE.

In this study, we successfully synthesized NiCo(HPO4) as an electrode material for supercapacitors using a one-step solvothermal method. Water, ethanol, and glycerol were employed as solvents, while phosphoric acid solution served as a phosphate agent. The synthesized NiCo(HPO4) was characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirming its phase and chemical properties. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was utilized to examine the surface morphology, revealing the mixture of nanoparticle and plate like particle of NiCo(HPO4). In terms of electrochemical performance, NiCo(HPO4) demonstrated a specific capacitance of 641 Fg−1 at 0.5 A g−1 in a three-electrode configuration using a 2 M KOH electrolyte. These results indicate that NiCo(HPO4) exhibits excellent capacitance and offers promise for the development of stable and high-performance electrodes in supercapacitor devices.

The new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, caused the COVID-19 pandemic, characterized by its high rate of contamination, propagation capacity, and lethality rate. In this work, we approach the use of phthalocyanines as an inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2, as they present several interactive properties of the phthalocyanines (Pc) of Cobalt (CoPc), Copper (CuPc) and without a metal group (NoPc) can interact with SARS-CoV-2, showing potential be used as filtering by adsorption on paints on walls, masks, clothes, and air conditioning filters. Molecular modeling techniques through Molecular Docking and Molecular Dynamics were used, where the target was the external structures of the virus, but specifically the envelope protein, main protease, and Spike glycoprotein proteases. Using the g_MM-GBSA module and with it, the molecular docking studies show that the ligands have interaction characteristics capable of adsorbing the structures. Molecular dynamics provided information on the root-mean-square deviation of the atomic positions provided values between 1 and 2.5. The generalized Born implicit solvation model, Gibbs free energy, and solvent accessible surface area approach were used. Among the results obtained through molecular dynamics, it was noticed that interactions occur since Pc could bind to residues of the active site of macromolecules, demonstrating good interactions; in particular with CoPc. Molecular couplings and free energy showed that S-gly active site residues interacted strongly with phthalocyanines with values of − 182.443 kJ/mol (CoPc), 158.954 kJ/mol (CuPc), and − 129.963 kJ/mol (NoPc). The interactions of Pc's with SARS-CoV-2 may predict some promising candidates for antagonists to the virus, which if confirmed through experimental approaches, may contribute to resolving the global crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We investigate the polymeric adsorption of formic acid (HCOOH) on the Cu(111) surface by means of density functional theory. We present structural models for the polymeric form of HCOOH on Cu(111) and characterize their stability, electronic, and vibrational properties. Based on the energetics and dynamics, as well as simulated scanning tunneling microscopy and atomic force microscopy images, we propose that the α polymorph is likely to be formed on the Cu(111) surface and can explain the experimental findings. We also study the initial step of the catalytic dehydrogenation of HCOOH and find that the O-H bond dissociation at the edge of the polymer is facilitated, rather than that forming hydrogen bonding, agreeing well with the experiments.

Analysis of potential destructive earthquakes in the seulimeum fault – North

Earthquake activities in Aceh Province are caused by the Sumatran Fault Zone and the West Coast Subduction Zone. Recent Research suggested that there are 13 Active Fault Segments in the Aceh region. Since 1938 – 2018 there were 21 destructive earthquakes occurred in Aceh. Destructive earthquakes were dominated by the source of active fault segment in the Aceh region, one of the active faults with destructive earthquakes is the Seulimeum Fault – North. This research aims to determine the level of seismicity in the Seulimeum Fault - North area using the Gutenberg Richter (Log=a−bM) method. Then it is used to calculate surface density and earthquake recurrence times. The results are then used to model the worst scenario of a destructive earthquake along Seulimeum Fault – North, so that the level of earthquake hazard potential risk can be determinated. The data used in the research based on the priority of the sources Sumatran Fault epicenter as earthquake catalog in the Aceh region from 2010 to 2021 with geographical boundaries of 1° - 6 ° Latitude and 94.0° - 99.0° Longitude and magnitude>1, depth less than 30 km. The results of the analysis figure that the Seulimeum Fault – North has a surface density (B-value) around 0.2 – 0.6. It was assumed that the area has a high concentration of fault stress or currently accumulating energy and has the potential to generate a severe earthquake in the future. The recurrence times of destructive earthquakes in the Seulimeum Fault – North with a time span of 47.66 - 59.12 years and the maximum magnitude release is estimated to be M≤8 implying a high level of potential hazard risk.

This research describes the method of manufacturing process planning of hole manufacturing, which in every machining process consists of several individual operations with various types of punching blades. The process of setting the trajectory is one of the problems of holes manufacturing process because this process takes a long machining time and often it obtains undirected sequence path that sometimes causes stress material and the damaged of punching blades. The aim of optimization process is to minimize the processing time of holes manufacturing so the time function which is obtained can be converted in the form of energy consumption that helps manufacturers to predict the machining time. Dynamic Directed Graph is applied where each node represents a machining operation. The time function is obtained by studying the shortest path of a directed graph where the structure of objectivity studied is similar to the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). The mathematical model is used to solve the hole optimization problem of the graph structure by proposing the combination of both to solve the optimization problem. The Algorithm realization will be applied in real time CAD / CAM programming by using TOPS300 which is used for TRUMPF TC200 Punching Machine. There are 2 kinds of blade operations in this research which are single stroke operation and multi strokes operation. Both produce different time function. By a. Finally, some conclusions are given from examples that show the hybrid algorithm of Simulated Annealing and Genetic Algorithms is effective in reaching higher optimization performance and less energy consumption, which 26.02 seconds for single stroke operation and 126.02 seconds for multi strokes operation with the acquisition of logical path results with the absence of intersecting trajectories. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this work is proposed a general algorithm to design event reconstruction of chemical/physical process to elaborate nanostructures through anodization in small pieces of aluminum, in order to get Aluminum Oxide (AAO) simples ready to be characterized, furthermore to be integrated as sensors of physical variables. By studying the evolution of border’s curves composed of figures from AAO sample, which is captured through Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) is possible to make an integration in 3 dimensions (3D), furthermore the 3D figure obtained can be explained through mathematical model to estimate its geometrical evolution after physical/chemical reactions. In this work, there are analyzed images from every stage of the process to elaborate nanostructures based on AAO templates, such as for example the following sequence: image before cleaning process, images before electro polishing, images before anodization process;and finally, images after anodization which are expected to obtain a kind of nanostructures. Every image were processed studying [1], [8] in order to obtain a mathematical equation as reference to understand the geometry of the 3D structure based on its 2D image for every stage. By other side, with this information and processing every stage image, it was achieved a mathematical equation to describe the geometry of the structure between stages by "Optimal Prediction analysis" that is so important to get understanding of the structure geometry with internal process. © WMSCI 2019 - 23rd World Multi-Conference on Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics, Proceedings.
