Water is the most crucial resource. The need for water use is increasing globally, especially in the agricultural sector, which is the primary driver of the need for water use in many countries. Efficient use of irrigation water can be achieved by good crop management. One of the essential aspects of increasing irrigation efficiency is to perform an Irrigation Water Demand (IWD) analysis. An accurate Crop Water Demand (CWD) assessment is key to good water management. The method used in this study is remote sensing by utilizing NDVI data and Evapotranspiration Potential to determine the value of Kc and CWD. The spatial model analysis results show that Asia's crop coefficient and crop water demand show that, in general, the highest Kc values are found in the Central Asian region and parts of Southeast Asia. The highest CWD accumulation values can be seen in the Central and Southeast Asian areas, especially in India, Pakistan, parts of Indonesia, and Thailand. © 2022 IEEE.

Batukaras Village is a village located in Cijulang District, in the southern part of Pangandaran Regency, West Java. Batukaras is one of the tourist destinations that have the potential to be visited by the tourist because of its beautiful view and potential economic income from the fishery. Beyond the potential for natural beauty, Batukaras Village also has the potential for disaster. One of them is the tsunami caused by the earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.7 in 2006. The Pangandaran tsunami on July 17 became a memorable disaster for the local community. It reached a height of 21 meters. It has left more than 300 people dead, 301 seriously injured, 551 slightly injured, and 156 missing, accompanied by huge property losses. Batukaras Village community has implemented 12 tsunami ready indicators IOC-UNESCO. Therefore, this study aims to map 12 tsunami ready IOC-UNESCO indicators in Batukaras Village to evaluate which indicators the government and community of Batukaras Village. The field survey and interviews are done to obtain data to identify the 12 tsunami ready indicators in Batukaras Village. Based on the IOC-UNESCO tsunami indicator mapping results, Batukaras Village has fulfilled 11 of the 12 indicators set. Based on the identification result, the village government has not yet fulfilled indicator five. Therefore the ITB Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) team assisted in making an evacuation route map to fulfill these indicators. However, in the future, the Batukaras Village government, assisted by the entire community, can be committed to maintaining and improving all existing disaster preparedness assets. © 2022 IEEE.

The Javan rhinoceros (Rhinoceros sondaicus) is one of the endemic animals in Java, Indonesia, which is currently threatened with extinction and is included in the 25 species program as the top priority for the Indonesian government. In 2021 the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry said that only 75 Javan rhinos remained in Ujung Kulon National Park in Banten Province. Ujung Kulon National Park is the primary habitat of the Javan rhino, so it requires special attention to protect this habitat. One of the reasons for the reduced population of the Javan rhinoceros is the diminishing availability of habitat. Habitat reduction occurs due to changes in land cover due to human activities. This study aims to identify changes in the habitat suitability of the Javan rhinoceros due to human pressure. Parameters of human pressure will be identified using changes in land cover in 2000 and 2018. Remote sensing and GIS technology will be used to monitor habitat suitability for endemic animals over a large area and a long time. The Javan rhino habitat suitability analysis in 2000 and 2018 will integrate geographical, environmental, and meteorological parameters. The MCDA (Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis) method will determine a decision from several suitability parameters. Based on observations of human activities parameters, there have been significant changes to land cover from 2000-2018, especially in residential areas, which negatively impacted the suitability of the Javan Rhino's habitat. The results of this study can identify priority areas that require protective action for the Javan Rhinoceros habitat. This research is expected to be the basis for protecting endangered endemic animals, especially the Javan Rhinoceros, so their habitat is preserved. © 2023 International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. Flood is one of the natural disasters which has a high intensity in terms of occurrence. Despite the loss value in each event which is not as high as some natural disasters, such as earthquakes or tsunamis, the high occurrence of floods may cause high loss in total. Floods damage property and infrastructure, disrupt economic activity, displace people, harm communities, and degrade ecosystems. This study aims to compare the flood hazard model using Geomorphic Flood Index (GFI) and Multi-criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA). GFI is an established method which already used globally to identify the flood-prone area and the depth of the flood. The parameter needed to calculate GFI are the elevation, river network, and historical flood event. Meanwhile, the MCDA method tries to combine environmental, physical, and hydrographic factors, such as land use/land cover, precipitation, and runoff. The study area is Jatinangor District in Sumedang Regency which part of West Java Province, Indonesia. This location is chosen based on historical and potential flood events. Besides, Jatinangor District is the center of industry and commerce which Sumedang Regency is very dependent on. The finding of this study is expected to identify suitable methods for assessing flood hazards in Jatinangor or other areas with similar characteristics, between GFI and MCDA. © 2023 International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. Food security is highly dependent on three aspects, namely food availability, food access, and food utilization. The availability aspect depends on food supply which is identical to agricultural productivity. West Java Province is the third national rice producer with 16.6%, but West Java Province is the most extensive rice consumer, around 21.1% of the total national rice consumption. Agricultural productivity can decline due to natural hazards such as floods and droughts. Monitoring floods and droughts in paddy fields are necessary to prevent decreased agricultural productivity. This study aims to monitor the rice fields from the dangers of flooding and drought every month. Agricultural hazard monitoring is divided into two parameters, namely static parameters and dynamic parameters. Dynamic parameters are observed every month so that the hazard index is generated on a monthly scale. GIS and Remote sensing data are integrated to perform agricultural hazard modelling. Furthermore, this agricultural hazard modelling results will be strengthened by using big to provide information about an almost real-Time event that can be accessed through the Application program Interface (API) service. This study uses a data mining system from Drone Emprit that performs data mining on Twitter and news portals with machine learning technology (probabilistic classifier) and Natural Learning Process. The results obtained are around 15,000 data from January 1 to November 1, 2021, and 37.9% of them are identified by location based on the city or district level in West Java Province. It is hoped that the policy-maker can consider the area of agricultural land that requires assistance to increase productivity and plan a policy to support agriculture in West Java in the future. © 2022 R. The mangrove ecosystem is one of the unique and distinctive ecosystems because it is a compelling natural resource. However, in the current era, many people are greedy, resulting in the conversion of mangrove land, which causes a decrease in the area of the mangrove ecosystem. This study aims to determine changes in the extent of the mangrove ecosystem in Karimunjawa National Park and the appropriate rehabilitation efforts there. The method used in this research is a case study with descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques used literature studies from several related research sources whose research locations were in the Karimunjawa National Park. The collected data were then analyzed using the SWOT method. The main priority to be chosen as the primary strategic plan to repair damage and rehabilitate mangroves in Karimunjawa National Park is to establish synergistic cooperation between the implementation of government programs and the wishes of the local community through revitalizing coastal areas due to abrasion by replanting mangrove trees. This alternative strategy is a Strength-Threats (ST) strategy, where strength is maximized to overcome threats.
